This Is Not Your Grandma’s Humane Society

Nathan J. Winograd;

Two weeks ago, I warned about a possible attempt by Jennifer Fearing, HSUS’ California lobbyist, to seek legislation eliminating the right of families to reclaim their cat. You can read that article by clicking here. I was right. But it gets worse: AB 2343, as amended yesterday, will not only tear families apart, it will allow for the transfer of California’s shelter dogs and cats to individuals who want to sell them for undisclosed purposes. Yes, sell them.

  1. You don’t have to strain your eyes looking for moral turpitude in a avaricious progressive institution. Virtually any degenerate political undertaking beats actually working.

  2. It has long been my position that these “humane societies” while being, nominally, non profit, exist primarily to provide a good livelihood and employment for the alleged employees.

  3. Somebody may be getting a kickback from the guys who supply pickled cats to high school anatomy labs.
    Wonder how long it will take for Fluffy to end up in the same lab as a former owner.

  4. These organizations are increasingly peopled by zealots who oppose pet ownership. Therefore, it stands to reason that if your cat or dog has escaped your yard, you don’t deserve to have it back because you are evil. Because you were evil to enslave it.
