I think we should encourage them, gently, not with a “this is what’ you’ll lose” attitude.

About keeping the mice out of the Cyclone or a travel trailer of motorhome, we have always found that a couple of trays (mini pie plates) of cloves and changed each season seems to do the trick. Also, I’d put one in the trunk and another under the hood; the little critters love wiring and also making nests out of the hood liner/blanket. Friend told me about it years ago and that was the end of damage and feces. Good luck!
