  3. Fauci just announced that he’s going to invoke the Fifth Amendment on all questions. Why? Because Biden’s pardon doesn’t protect him from any lies today or the future.

    1. Isn’t Fauci being questioned about events that occurred during the time period covered by the Biden pardon? If so, the pardon, like a grant of immunity, means Fauci “is no longer under criminal jeopardy for federal crimes and, accordingly, Fifth Amendment protection for self-incrimination evaporates.”

      1. I posted this opinion in response to “ByTheSea” commenter yesterday in anticipation that pleading the 5th wouldn’t be acceptable… while I’m thinking today of Drew Carey saying “the points are made up and the points don’t matter” … there are no real rules and who cares anyways?

    2. And in so doing he is breaking the law. The Fifth Amendment doesn’t offer protections for someone pardoned for a crime as they face no legal action.
      Fauci isn’t protecting himself (well, perhaps he is); he’s protecting others.

        Just as my 1st Amendment Rights and right to assemble were suspended by COVID emergency.   11. The record of active FOIA evasions remind us of the old saw that “The coverup is always worse than the crime”. Given the magnitude of deaths resulting from Fauci’s behavior, this is a single case where that might not actually be the case.

  19. Is a Pardon the same as Grant of Immunity regarding citing the 5th amendment? Does it apply to congressional testimony? Looks like Fauci is on shaky ground citing the 5th unless he has refused Biden’s pardon.
