Hear my prayer: Suddenly, as if crossing a line of demarcation — I am reminded of Checkpoint Charlie, the gate that linked West and East Berlin — we leave healthy fields bursting with life, and we arrive at . . . well, we arrive at nothing: just dust, quiet, and a few pieces of unused farming equipment. It’s quite the shift: a real-life Before and After comparison.

Oh, California! For a minute I though he was describing Ontario’s manufacturing belt.
So the extirpation of the Delta Smelt would remove the problem.
One word: rotenone.
Assuming the ban remains in place, there are only two outcomes: 1. San Joaquin Valley is finished as an agricultural zone, or 2. build a desalination plant on the coast and run it in by pipe.
It’s sad how often the people that vote for the liberals are the ones that suffer most of the negative consequences of voting in those same liberals.
The San Joaquin valley Hispanic community, the farm workers, vote 70% for the Democrats who are destroying their jobs!
Just like “the poor” in Canader, who invariably vote for the NDP,who keep ’em down in the slums.
Every year in Nov/Dec we drive to southern California from Montana. On the way home we go thru different parts of the Central Valley. I used to be stationed in Central California in the Army in the 1960’s. The valley then was incredible with farms full of America’s produce.
The last few years in comparison is unbelievable. Just a giant dust bowl and unemployed Latinos. The crime rate is up and people are turning to making meth for money.
Why? So SF Leftists and Eco-fascists can save a fish. It is insanity and the Democrats who are 100% responsible for this, do nothing.
If you are ever there see this tragedy for yourself.
Ayn Rand wrote about stuff like this.
“ESA holds that researchers can declare their work private property, scientists must release only their findings and may keep their data and methods secret.”
We shouldn’t be too smug. The virus of environmental insanity is well established in Canada. Just take a serious look at the destruction wrought within the Ontario electrical system.
