The safety and security that make possible this young mother’s pacifism and loathing of weapons are luxuries she enjoys only because, to paraphrase Orwell, “rough men stand ready to do violence on her behalf”. She acknowledges this in passing, but clearly it is not the sort of thing she would want her own boy to have anything to do with; presumably her defenders are of another species altogether, and are no mother’s sons.

I have a daughter-in-law that thinks like that, and makes it clear that we should giver her two sons anything that resembles a firearm of any sort. She even made it clear that I was not to give my son any military history books that I did not any longer want as her sons might read them. My son was silent while she was ranting at us. Sad.
This Vered Benhorin woman just might get a surprise someday unless she is successful in rearing an eloi clone. She exemplifies the liberal hatred of soldiers, even those whose job is to protect her.

Perhaps the deranged weltanschauung of this “therapist” has something to do with the lack of any real men in her life. Sounds like she’s surrounded by girly men, metrosexuals and male homosexuals who all live in a make believe peaceful world where nothing bad ever happens.
The person with the psychiatric issues is the mother and she likely has severe anger issues herself which she deals with by projecting them on gunowners and inanimate objects. People like her believe that if the average person had access to a firearm, they would immediately start shooting people. She probably has never met any responsible gun owners who are often fanatical when it comes to firearms safety and where they allow themselves to discharge their guns. She’s made it quite clear she should never be near a firearm as some of her pent up rage will likely break through in that situation.
If I had a mother bring in a child like that for my medical advice of what to do, I would advise her to not let him play with toy cars. I’d point out the huge fatality rate from automobiles, the millions of people who have breen permanently maimed and paralyzed in automobile accidents, the environmental destruction wrought by automobiles and the use of automobiles as clandestine assassination devices given the wideheld belief that a death from being run down by a vehicle is an “accident” unlike the case of finding a body with a bullethole in the back of the head where foul play is immediately suspected. I’d lecture her about the risk of obesity, diabetes and coronary artery disease if he was allowed to be transported in a car and that such toys should never form a part of his life.
Instead, I’d suggest to her that he either walked or cycled wherever he was going when he got older and, because of the imbalance between a killer armed with a vehicle and a boy on a bicycle, that he should get his CCW as soon as he was of legal age to do so. I’d also ask her why she had the need to drive death machines which may have their uses outside of large cities, but in large cities are just mass runovers waiting to happen when someone snaps from road rage. As the police can’t be everywhere, it is the individual with CCW who has the capability to confront the out of control driver and disable him with a couple of .45 rounds to the head.
Right now kids are being far too overprotected and we’re creating a nation of sexless cowards who assume that as long as we don’t allow any mention of “bad” things, they they will go away. Normal male behavior is to be interested in weapons and firearms training should commence immediately at the age that this occurs. A few demonstrations of the power of a bullet are in order and the one I got was the effect of a .22 Hornet round on a paint can which exploded. It was explained to me then that if the bullet had been aimed at my head it would suffer the same consequences. Firearms safety violations were dealt with via an immediate cuff to the head or a painful slap to the rear. Very effective as I’ve never had a negligent firearm discharge and am appalled at the dangerous way that people totally without firearms training as children handle guns on a range.
The data on automobiles is something that the moonbats can’t refute and what we need are schoolboards who would ban parents driving their children to school. The extremes Ive seen are 4-5 block drives “because it’s dangerous for x to be alone and vulnerable while walking”. These parents are probably extremely fearful themselves, having been raised by fearful parents as well and they’ve passed down a mindset that is to automatically ban anything that is the least frightening to someone. Also, boys are no longer supposed to express anger or dislike for other children or engage in fighting which has been the norm for Homo Sapiens children since the beginning. All young animals playfight and this is a crucial aspect of organizing brain development.
If one were to bring a typical boy from 50 years ago and put him in a “modern” school, it is highly likely that he’d be very quickly suspended and likely be seeing a psychiatrist for a whole series of unacceptable behaviors that those of us who went to school in the 1950’s and 1960’s thought were quite normal.

Dr. Sarah Thompson, the author, has now added some ways in which these people can be treated by gun owners. The other interesting piece of the puzzle of hoplophobia is that many hoplophobes have a vested interest in being “victims” and, as firearms are a great equalizer in conflicts between a small armed person and a very muscular large individual, using a firearm in this situation would with a single shot blow away the individuals coveted “victim” status. A firearm for such “victims” represents independence, refusal to be intimidated and self-reliance — all behavioral characteristics that “victims” must not display.
Someone with more time than me should author a book on the new perversions engaged in by Homo Victimus who views as the pinacle of human accomplishment the attainment of the highly sought after “permanently disabled” status and the monthly welfare check. By initiating people into the right of victimhood during early childhood, one is ensured of a pliable, fearful and docile population of sheeple who could never even think of overthrowing a despotic dictator.

I’m at the stage where I no longer feel a need to “defend” those like this mother. They want this type of society? Let them have it! Decisions have consequences. They’ve skated long enough. Oh, protect the neighbors and your own loved ones, but this type of defective reasoning is probably best served byu experiencing the Darwin solution.

The psychology of gun hate or gun phobia is quite interesting. I speak of the process they must engage in to create the conflicted rationalization the gun hater must go adopt to justify or ignore their own cowardice and blatant denial of reality.
All the gun phobic arguments distills down to one single fallacious idea – that one will never have to stand in armed defense of the life of ones loved ones or oneself and, by extension of that illogic, no one will ever “need” a gun. Justified violence deniers (AKA gun haters) hide behind a moral premise of passivity to excuse their not taking responsibility for the protection of their own life, yet they are more than comfortable in having another more stoic person (working for a police state) use all the violence and automatic guns needed to give a false sense of security to their simpering, craven existence.
The philosophical justifications for advocating a disarmed public are based in cowardice and irrationality – passive stupidity – like the ELOI in HG Wells novel – willing to be preyed upon by violent malevolent creatures rather than summon the courage to defend themselves – under the illusion someone else will always be their to save them from violence. How pathetic, how sissified, how unAmerican.

What’s really scary is that she’s a therapist & is hired to help people with psychiatric problems, big or small. Even scarier is that she could testify in court as an “expert” witness.

My granddad had lost the use of his legs due to polio under his bed he kept a dbbl 12 gauge we my cousins and I never new if it was loaded and we never checked you can bet it was but we never asked or never touched. we were taught to stay away this person needs some real world training

One of the great things about being a “victim” is the sheer passivity of it and the ticket it gives one to avoid responsibility for virtually anything but most especially for oneself. It’s also used as an excuse to attack others in other ways under the label of “self defense”. It’s no surprise lefties hate and/or fear firearms. Training in their use and the carriage of them would pull one of the trump cards out of the deck of BS they use to justify their (passive)-aggressive behavior.

I second your comment, the scariest thing about this entire affair is that this fool woman Vered Benhorin is a psychiatric therapist. She exhibits not even the slightest sign of knowledge about child development or how little boys interact with things. They like explosions, dinosaurs, elephants, tanks, trucks, and front-end loaders.
Reading from the freakin’ textbook does not mean she understands WHY the kid says “My dinosaurs have superpowers and yours don’t. Mine find yours and then kill them with their power!” You’re supposed to say “AAAAAAARGH! Ya got me!” and then fall on the floor so the kid can jump on you and stab you with the plastic dinosaur. That’s what he wants.
You also have to show the poor little city kid that the plastic dinosaurs go up and down when they walk, otherwise he will slide them along like a hotwheel car. Its pitiful when you see that, it means nobody every taught the kid how to play.

A therapist who doesn’t know that a boy needs a father-figure (ideally his real father living with him and his mother) to learn how to be a man. Who doesn’t know that men by nature have a certain attraction to violence.
