I would guess that the average German like Canadians, have a superficially leftist opinion on US politics complete with an inflated significance of such anomalies as the KKK or distorted belief that GWB was a conservative (as opposed to a conservative progressive). Within that background, Obama was seen as an alternative to “Chimpy-Hitler” and as the first “black” and a legitimate “progressive” it was icing on the cake. After 5 years of more of the Bush’s worst traits on steroids, at least for the Germans, the shine has gone.
I suspect that he still rates favourably in the deranged Dominion.

It was his 2008 speech at the Victory Column (under the gaze of large statues of the
Prussian generals who won the Franco-Prussian war) that led me to conclude that we were dealing with an exceptional Foulness. The Berliners are a sophisticated lot, and know
about demagoguery, as the Love Parades showed; but this was a new form of the disease
against which the had no antibodies. I thought the same about Americans, when I read
“Dreams from my Father” – that they had seen almost, almost every kind of political chicanery, but the Foulness represented something new – not so much for us, as
members of the British Commonwealth – the rhetoric had a familiar ring – but for others,
it was new.
Why the Foulness or its handlers think that giving speeches at places associated with
Prussian imperialism or Nazi imperialism will impress anyone positively is beyond me.
Angela Merkel as a former Communist must be perplexed.
Oh yes, those who have experienced the Stasi do not forget it and never will.
Maybe they realize that the armaments Obama provides to the jihadis in Syria will come back to be used against them in Europe.
When the head of the Russian government can successfully lecture Obama on the danger to Western Civilization by arming those jihadis who eat the organs of their enemies, it means the U.S. is pretty deep in the swamp.
I heard him dronning on while i was waiting for a CT scan this morn…..thought it was maybe a replay. All the monontonously interchangeable feelgood phrases of a motivational speaker – it just added to my sense of ennui.

I know I am more affected by WWII than most of my contemporaries seem to be and I attribute that to my parents being children in London during the Blitz. But for the grandchildren it is harder to make it real. It was all so very far away, so very long ago. (Maybe it works better if you text them?)

The middle East has always known him as a Muslim in disguise. Europe has caught on. Most of Canada except the usual haunts of lefties as well. Only in America is this considered a conspiracy.
As for Catholic education, what else would a Good Muslim say against the religious kaffir schools that produce none Muslims?
