Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

L – Manitoba Independence could turn things around… but given current circumstances, likely only rural Manitoba would see the value in it. Perhaps, the elderly, former M.P./former mayor of Dauphin, Inky Mark could start such a movement… from inside the jail cell, the one the federales have planned for him.
An Independent Manitoba, without Winnipeg, could recreate the dream of a free, a peaceful and prosperous land, one carved out of the wilderness by men and women of uncommon valour, in the 19th Century and 20th Century political vision.
Align with a similarly minded Alberta and Saskatchewan. It would be more economically, culturally and politically viable than Carney’s post nation-state and being governed by Eurocrats in Brussels in Belgium, as part of the failing European Union.
Or watch the top 10 percent of talented workers, who produce 50% of the productivity, move to an economically viable American nation-state, one with Constitutional Rights and a fighting independent spirit and a good chance to survive intact. A land with intact extended families is a precious thing.
At risk of sounding like a bitter old white woman, I DO hope that AB and SK leave confederation. I agree with this post in that rural MB can come, but not Winnipeg – it has become a third world country with crappy roads and is very NDP.
If rural and northern MB did come, then the Prairies would have access to Churchill’s deep water port (and yes, I know it is only open for about 4-6 months of the year, but still…)
As well, I am so tired of Canada’s FN people whining and complaining. They are happy to enjoy F150 trucks, big screen tv’s and cell phones, but work, not so much.
If this independent Winnipeg-free Manitoba ever attracts any serious (ie., wild with their money) foreign backers, put them in touch with me. I have cronies in Manitoba easily capable of coming up with a Grand Duchy of Brandon that would look as plausible as you need on paper. No shortage of potential Grand Douches, either. Of course, some of that plausibility would be superficial, but at times, especially crucial times, that’s all you need. And of course they might well cut the mustard appreciably better than Wab and his mob.
Up until the end of June my daughter, son-in-law and their two children lived down the street from my wife and I. My daughter was offered a promotion with a significant increase in salary and bonus to move from Ontario to California. She would have been crazy to turn it down.
Since taking the position the family has bought a beautiful home in a lovely neighbourhood and have made countless new American friends who welcomed them with open arms into their community and their church. The children have made many new friends through the church youth group. They were able to join in with others their age in the many activities and trips of the youth group.
In the meantime, my wife is still waiting for a CT Scan to confirm or rule out a serious health issue. This process began months ago in Ontario. So much for world class health care.
Carney and the Premiers have their own agenda. Too bad their agenda does not include the Canadian people. Canada is broken.
“And I will never forgive the people who helped make leaving Canada the only sensible choice.”
Your neighbours.
Let me say that I have a similar story here in CA … as I’ve watched my daughter, son-in-Law, and my two grandsons flee to TN … for a better life. I can no longer drive to LA to spend time with them, or hop on a cheap 1hr. flight … nope. Now they are 2,000 miles from us. Not how we planned our family in 1983. Thanks leftist CA supermajority politicians.
My oil patch son-in-law makes $300,000 CDN and was offered $400 thousand US to move to Texas with the same company. That’s like $550,000 CDN. Because they are doing well in Canadian terms they haven’t bit. School tuition would be $20,000 to $40,000 for two kids to keep them out of social experiments.
