  2. Maybe you’re being paranoid. It looks like a CL, which I believe is the only 2dr hardtop coupe in the MB range. The least powerful engine is 429hp with a 621hp twin turbo V12 at the high end.
    Single male + 4:25am + high performance car + deserted street (I’m assuming) + possible alcohol/drug use (he worked for Rolling Stone which is not a bastion of teetotalers). I would guess that the temptation to ‘see what it can do’ got the best of him and he was unable to handle it.
    I doubt that Gen McChrystal is crying in his beer over the news.

  5. I stand corrected. It’s been pointed out to me that five spoke wheels make it an E 350 coupe, only 302hp.

  10. Driven many miles on those roads. Going really fast on the side streets (as opposed to the freeways) is not a wise thing to do in LA. As stated by the Spanish speaking witness, the car was going so fast that there was fire coming out from the underside of the car. The roads there are designed to funnel and channel water. At most intersections, there are concrete gutters which make a square at each intersection. They can be up to a foot deeper than the plain of the road, so as to direct the water in predetermined directions.
    Traveling at high rates of speed, most cars bottom out, and I have seen “sparks” fly, and even bottomed-out our vehicle a time or two when not slowing down properly. That is usually on residential streets. Hastings had to have been flying down the streets and seriously bottoming-out to cause “fire” (pretty much frame/body in full contact with the pavement) to be coming from under the car.
    Semi’s jackknife, not cars. Sloppy journalism there. He had a full head-on with the boulevard palm tree, but only after taking out the fire hydrant. That is probably why the motor ended up in the gutter down the street.
    How the car ignited will be up to the “investigator” to determine. The autopsy will clear everything up! /sarc off. Sure hope that person remembers Andrew Breitbart!!!

  11. It will be interesting come judgement day, to see if men like these died naturally, or where killed for political reasons.
    As for conspiracy’s. About everyone has come true. From fast & furious, Benghazi to the IRS targeting political groups.The Obama administration bugging everyone (Muslims exempted of course). Not least the targeting of Journalists investigating White-house antics. To lying DOJ boss Holder’s Personal targeting political groups.Not investigating Democratic voting irregularities. I mean there is only the Aliens, & 9/1 left in the Quiver of conspiracy.
    Heck even Prism turned out true.
