But two months before the training exercise was to take place, the city was hit with a real terrorist attack executed in a frighteningly similar fashion. The chaos of the Boston Marathon bombings disrupted plans for the exercise…

This is just part of the DHS “federalization” and militarization of police, these terror drills go on around the country in major urban centers as well as state police drills with the feds. The theme is to play out the scenarios the DHS has been painting – the enemy is Joe Sixpack – ball caps, hunting cammo, patriotic bumper stickers, Gadston flags, conservative political leanings, tax complainers, Christian symbolism and pocket constitutions are all signs of “domestic terrorism”.
The Feds are coopting (mobilizing?) local police in what appears to be a confrontation with the American people – targeting those most likely to resist excessive Federal overreach. So far it’s a cold war with Fed-indoctrinated police acting it out in drills and just pushing people with cameras around, unwarranted arrests for objecting to police abuses and generally showing contempt for legal rights – but unless this is nipped in the bud shortly, this police-as-an-occupation-force belligerence will result in reactive violence – maybe that’s the plan. Remember the millions of rounds of hollow point ammo the feds are hoarding?
Aside from that, here we see another in a growing list of police terror drills that were taking place (or supposed to happen) at the same time as a real crisis. If it happens once it’s a coincidence when it becomes a pattern you have to look closer. – another coincidence: the Boston police terror drill, where they were hunting down red state Americans, was to happen on “patriot’s day”. It smells, and if you think all these things combined constitute “coincidence” you just may have an MSM lobotomy.
It is kind of ironic that police are training to counter a theoretical homegrown rightest group named “Free American Citizens” in Boston of all places and being upstaged by Muslim radicals. Obviously those that dreamed this up are not the descendants of the original Boston patriots and are more concerned about a theoretical bogeyman on the right than their real enemy. Of course, some on the left who hate liberal democracy are reluctant to go after their natural allies.

The conservative progressive, George W Bush, took a failing group of leviathan security agencies and added another (leviathan) umbrella agency and under a further umbrella of toxic political correctness, expected the resulting beast to improve security. Along comes Obama, a lazy, serial liar, narcissist, looter and thug (union lackey), (Islamist?), progressive-on-steroids and guess what? This is security theatre at its worst. If Occam is correct, the next step into fascism isn’t a stretch.
The only remotely reliable form of security for the US (or any other) citizenry is conceal carry and a willingness to openly speak out against anything Islamic. IE, the First and second Amendments.

I think your point is an interesting one but I think this speaks to both political correctness and an unwillingness for the West to defend and support itself. These problems did not exist in the US in 1941 and as of 1945, the imperial Japanese were no longer an enemy. The Islamic world was doing battle with the West long before 2001 and we’re still trying to find ways not to hurt their poor, little feelings. If the government is about to declare war on its own citizens, it is using political correctness as a vehicle to make that happen.
The US has no problems spending billions in arms and equipment to guard the 38th parallel a half a world away.
The Obamba administration has made it pretty clear that their enemy is within US territory.
