In my experience Marxists and liberals don’t talk about issues and/or politics in the open. They go behind closed doors in committees, such as the enviro-group at your local office demanding you get electronic paystubs, or quit brining pb&j sandwiches to work. Why? Because they NEVER have tangible support for their ideas! They start at the top, and they jam their politics down your throats!
Politically, they simply throw as much mud as they can at those they disagree with and hope something sticks (ie Newt Gingrich is a fascist) and therefore hope to shame you enough into not saying anything. It’s called intimidation! It’s at this time you can confront such a person, at risk though, of ruining your friendship.
The thing about liberals is they parrot the master talking points while having no idea how condescending and insulting their comments towards you(me) are because they think you are one of them. IF you express to a liberal what a bigoted a$$hole they are being, you will no doubt ruin any friendship you might have with that person; as they most likely do not have the capacity for introspection, and will in fact view you(me) as the bigoted a$$hole shouting them down.
So… in the name of preserving a friendship, I highly recommend NOT discussing politics with liberal friends.
