Many BC voters loathe Christy Clark. And for good reason. She’s as phoney as a $3 bill and sincere as a pawn shop owner in Vegas. Voting for her BC Liberal party is not something one would do with any enthusiasm.
But as the May 14th election draws near, the province’s numero uno socialist/communist, Adrian Dix, is getting more brazen with his pronouncements. This and this and this and this, amongst many others, are very disturbing. As the lead architect behind Glen Clark’s failed government, which bankrupted the province, the notion that Dix is openly flaunting similar policies, which are certain to have the same end effect, is revolting.
Update: Ezra Levant discusses BC’s “Energy Election” with Alise Mills.

Unfortunately BC has always been a two party province. The NDP socialists and the not quite so Socialist, still left of center party.
If you don’t vote for one the other gets in, two party system is what we have, good or bad.
The pundits in BC said Dix would never be elected head of the NDP as he is so far out in LEFT LAND no one would take a chance on him.
Look what our choice is now.
The Socialists see what the Socialist/Communist in chief Obama can and is getting away with in the states and think ME TOO ME TOO.
Don’t make the mistake here by voting NDP. (Natural Disaster Party)
John,F*** off with your “BC voters are dummies” bullshit. Name one Province that elects governments that ALWAYS do their best for the citizens of the Province.
Alberta? Ontario? Saskatchewan? Manitoba? Quebec? Any of the Maritimes?
We do the best we can considering the choices we are given, just like every other citizen in every other jurisdiction on the planet.
We have areas of the Province that are conservative, and areas that are left-wing, just like every other Province. All of us in B.C. are sick of the “dope smoking lefty -green loonies” crap from the allegedly brilliant voters of other Provinces, that elect politicians just as good or bad as we do.

Look at Oak Bay, for example, was always a Socred bastion, Hugh Curtis’ old riding. Now, it just barely elects Libs, and is also part of Lizard May’s federal riding/ The demographics have changed there.
The best result here? Libs win, but Christy loses here seat, and she is forced to re-sign. Then an adult can be chosen as leader, maybe Falcon resurrects himself, who knows.
As an aside, I’ve been reading AGT for some time (refuse to say his hypocritical name), and he has truly fallen off the high board at the shallow end of the pool. Yes, I understand his deepseated hatred of Christy and things the Libs have done. But, his getting into bed with the Dips, and downplaying the Dippers damaging policies, along with being anti-oil, is down right hypocritical of a financially independent, capitalist, who made his fortune on land development. He is also anti-oil, but despises the Global Warming crap. He’s all over the map, and reverytime there’s news regarding the Liberals improving, he poopoos it, much like Comrade Dix. He gushes over Dix. He’s lost his objectivity, and his website has become a second home to the Tyee/Rabble crowd. What’s that about politics and strange bedfellows?
The polls sure are tightening up. BC is not a totally retarded lefty province like Quebec. It’s…schizo.
The people voting Liberal to head off the NDP are the dumbest as8holes on the planet. They’re like the extra-chromosome kid who walks around looking at his shoes and surprised everytime he walks into a tree or door. So short-sighted even the thick glasses couldn’t help.

We have bad indigestion with the Liberals and Xty.
But it appears that the indigestion is worse with the Dips.
And the perception of the provincial conservatives, is, somewhat accurately true, that they are the rump of the old Socreds, a collection of elderly religious ‘nutbars’…sorry, I said it, but that’s the view there.
BC doesn’t tolerate extremists either in reality or perception. Why does the green thing work? Because most urbanites are clueless to the damage done by green extremists, it affects those hillbillys, not them, so its not “extreme”. The NDP soft sells welfare giveaways, all about “helping the children”. Now who could oppose children? The fact of the matter is that increasing welfare doesn’t stop welfare. The object is to get the parents working, would they not think, that low welfare rates is an encouragement to get off your ass and get a job? But that is also viewed as ‘extreme’. The poor children…..
Its those public pronouncements that have people falling back, rightly or wrongly, into the Liberal camp. The NDP will be far more damaging, Liberal warts and all. The conservatives have traditionally been a fringe party, and they look to remain so, unfortunately. They have said they will remove the carbon tax, but that’s not enough (yet) to overlook the perception they have from the public.
Who knows….maybe if Kevin Falcon re-appeared as Con leader next year, everything could change. If Xty loses (her seat), both parties will be wooing the Falconator.
This election is an example of Hobson’s choice.
Falcon is the bastard who pushed BC insane drinking and driving laws. To hell with him. The BCCP and in particular its leader Cummins have royally screwed away an opportunity. I’d vote for them just to give them enough O2 for a change in leadership for next time.
Northern BC should just separate and maybe join Alberta.
If you need some sort of proof of the type of “nuts” Dix might be, get a load of his looney wife. Skip ahead to about 8:20
If he lives with someone like that, he can’t be too normal, IMHO. It’s quite frightening.

So according to you, nold,”I’ll have a just a half cup of poison instead of the pint”.
Here in Saskabush, having lived under the far left policies of a Tommy Douglas or Alan Blakeney and the lesser left policies of a Roy Romanow or Grant Devine, believe me when I tell you, there is a difference. Take a half cup poison and you could come back to fight another day, a full cup and you are down and out.
Happy Infidel, I’ll take a conservative with common sense – that would be CUMMINS – over a flakey, cold Liberal who’s swallowed the entire GLOBAL WARMING agenda, ANYDAY. Those who are putting down SDA members for voting on principle and conscience won’t be getting any respect from me. Where do you think the Reform Party had its origins?
Adrian Dix, if he becomes premier, won’t be premier for long, in my view. Christy Clark does not deserve even one vote.
“Those who are putting down SDA members for voting on principle and conscience won’t be getting any respect from me.”
Well good luck, chutzpahticular, eating those principles and conscience, because if Dix becomes premier and does the things he says he will do, the people who supply the income for government to squander are in for some pretty thin gruel in return.
You’re using the same old argument that was used LAST time.
Adrian Dix and his party are destructive, no doubt about that, but the BC Liberals in my view are just as bad, if not worse, because of the pretense of being centric. Christy Clark would sell us out to the U.N. (and to the U.S.!) It’s already happening. The work environment in this province has deteriorated greatly in the last five years.
I see lots of incensed invective between the Conservatives and Liberals with no real enthusiasm for either. (That sounds about right.) Before you get too excited about the moral imperative of strategic voting, consider the riding where you live.
In my riding, the NDP won last time and are stronger this time. Hopelessness frees me to vote Conservative. I might think differently in a Lib-NDP battle, or a safe Liberal seat, or a 3-way race.

To the “Liberals are no better than NDP” crowd, I agreed with you for about a month. When Clark first became leader and Carole James ran the NDP, it seemed OK to let the NDP have a turn. Dix is no Carole James.

I like every comments on this page except the separation of BC Alberta nonsense . DUMB DUMB absolutely dumb . Here is my comment : do not split the vote by voting conservative (my party and political philosophy) , or green or whatever… This is sure way to get the socialist dummies back in . Come on now , remember the ferry boat fiasco and other stupid socialist failures. Take the lesser evil and go liberal again. I would prefer a conservative win myself but the liberals come close to their philosophy and mine .Use common sense and don’t talk separation .
