It is a sad and frightening state of affairs, but we no longer live in a nation of laws. When the police pick and choose which laws they will enforce, and pick and choose against whom they will enforce them they may be providing ‘Peace and Order’, of sorts, but it is most definitely NOT ‘Good Government’.

The falling public faith in our civic institutions is frightening, even the clowns who swear an oath to up hold the laws, no longer believe.
What is civilization?
Once we have to form local militias, run off the social rejects and enforce rules that work for us, are we still part of greater civilization?

We are $600 billion in debt, none of the “authorities” cares if they behave badly, or if the law is circumvented in their favour.
Productivity is falling in Canada, well Duh. Why produce for negative return?
We stagger closer every year to producing only what you can protect or carry away, Govt red tape costs an estimated $30 billion/year.
Where is the benefit of civl society?
And how long will your community remain civilized, if services fail?
How soon before your favourite psycho starts taking what they need?

Stats that say that crime is down are obviously not taking into account the thefts and vandalism that aren’t reported, because nothing will be done about them by authorities anyway.
