    There has to be some sort of palestinian state, and the west bank might fit the bill, if Israel keeps gaza as a buffer against the rockets. Regardless, nobody detests the palestinians more than the arabs, so expect no cooperation in that arena.

    As Ive challenged others. Read Mark Twains adventures in the 19th century Ottoman Empires Israel. It was a barren dessert except for a few odd Jewish settlements & Bedouins. No where are Palestinians mentioned to have even existed.

  12. I am also very proud of the Canadian position on this subject.
    Personally, I believe the ideal borders for present day Israel would be to revert back to what I believe were the borders circa 800 b.c.: All of present day Israel, Gaza, the West Bank AND the east bank of the Jordan River. Crossing the Jordan into the Promised Land was partially symbolic. Eventually the tribes inhabited both sides of the river.

    If Vancouver Island were surrounded by 100 million or so fanatical enemies, many willing to die just to see the island folk destroyed, I would want to help the islanders. Imagine if you were living there. Based on your lack of empathy for the Jews you probably can’t.
    Most of that $100 billion was for military aid (over about 40 years?) which may have prevented another population of Jews from being slaughtered.

    Luke 3 is Mary’s genealogy. It goes back to Levi.
    The genealogy in Mathew 1 is Joseph’s genealogy and goes back to Judah. Obviously Joseph was not His father, except legally.

    Both this Levi and this Simeon werre descendants of Judah and have nothing to do with the original Levi, thge brother of Judah.
    So, Jesus was NOT of the TRIBE of Levi.

    But Mary’s mother was the sister of Elizabeth, who was married to a Levitical priest. Priests were only allowed to marry other Levites. Therefore Mary was at least half Levite.

    The tribe of Benjamin joined Judah when Israel divided. Together they formed the Southern Kingdom of Judah. So both Jesus and Paul were Jews, as were all the Levites who were scattered throughout Judah, (not having any inheritance in the land but living off tithes. Num 18)
    They were all Jews.

    Then he became a Christian and began persuading everyone, both Jew and Gentile to become a follower of Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah and what is more, the Saviour of all mankind. He encouraged other believers to do the same.
    How we should go about this is not entirely clear to me sometimes, but I’m sure it’s not by bitterly attacking the nation of Israel, as you do.
    I’m a Christian, who was formerly an atheist. I try to keep an independent mind but most of us Christians identify with one group or another. For me it’s those Evangelicals who believe the Bible is God’s message to mankind and who try to be faithful to Christ and the Scriptures. To do this without becoming infighters and axe-grinders, or conversely, watering down the scriptures, is a challenge.
    What’s your background? I’m guessing British Israelite but that might be way off the mark.
