To say that Obama is a bad American is not to cast doubt upon either his citizenship or his birthplace. While the inept forgery that the White House attempted to pass off as his birth certificate does tend to raise questions, the larger problem is that the erstwhile eater of dogs appears to have a more tenuous grasp on America and what it means to be an American than the average European whose only exposure to the country was MTV and re-runs of “Dallas.”

The difference between the birther issue and Romney being a Morman is that being Morman does not disqualify one from being POTUS. To suggest, after all the unanswered questions about Obama and the fact that his last BC document was a forgery, that any debate on the subject falls outside the definition of “perfectly sane discussion”, is quite frankly, a mystery.
The idea that Obama somehow managed to slip his place of birth past the vetting of the US constitutional and electoral process is as ridiculous in its conspiratorial overtones as the notion that Bush somehow toppled the Twin Towers.

I don’t know where Obama was born, not being a friend of the Obama family and never having travelled to Kenya in the early 1960’s.
I do hope some day the truth will come out on his college career. Perhaps the dear Prez was a mediocrity in every way,and his campaigners,who claim he’s “the most intelligent President ever” don’t want to see another expose of the Affirmative Action President.

The greater question, IMO, is about America: I used to think that, if it weren’t for Britain and America, the world would be a pretty dark place; how can the slippage have been so great so fast? Eight short years ago, America had a mission, with a strong economy and a visionary president, if one that was unspectatular in news conferences (although his performance in May, 2009 — on the stage in Toronto with Bill “Nobody did anything about Rwanda, but I was the only one to apologize” Clinton, with Frank McKenna moderating, brought the crowd of 6,000 paying strong to its feet (with maybe 200 protesters across the street): “Democracy is hard; look at its history in my own country” — at least proved he could speak without a teleprompter.)
Is the light about to go out in America? According to the polls (www.realclearpolitics.com), Mr. Obama seems to be continuing to attract inordinate support. What are we (being the Anglosphere, and some others who may choose to come with us), going to do about it?
I’d suggest, as a very first step, that Mr. Romney hunker down and ask the first question (stealing a page from PMSH): “What kind of America do you want to live in?”
