    The oldest running rodeo in Canada is at Wood Mountain, Sask. This year was the 123d–an event that started when Sitting Bull roamed the great plains and the rolling hills of Southern Saskatchewan.
    The Wood Mountain ranch rodeo is an added attraction. They also have the Wood Mountain Post provincial park that has replicas of of the buildings from the NWMP post. One of the first NWMP posts in canada.

  9. I’ve discovered that many podcasts and the Corus Radio Audio Vaults across the country have been shut down during the Olympics. I’m not entirely sure why. Can anyone provide any insight?

  12. Syncro, I don’t think it’s a bandwidth issue. I suspect that there’s the possibility of some Olympic related content that the IOC holds a copyright on. Still, pretty drastic and our MSM had not mentioned a peep about it!

  23. Hot Air has a good article. The Cardinal of the Chicago Archdiocese wrote an excellent letter to Rahm Emanual on his denial of freedom of belief to the owner of Chick-Fil-A and his declaration that only one belief system is allowed in the city of Chicago. In part, the letter states:
    “Recent comments by those who administer our city seem to assume that the city government can decide for everyone what are the “values” that must be held by citizens of Chicago. I was born and raised here, and my understanding of being a Chicagoan never included submitting my value system to the government for approval. Must those whose personal values do not conform to those of the government of the day move from the city? Is the City Council going to set up a “Council Committee on Un-Chicagoan Activities” and call those of us who are suspect to appear before it? I would have argued a few days ago that I believe such a move is, if I can borrow a phrase, “un-Chicagoan.” …

  25. Apologies for the double post. The article also has a nice syllogism on freedom.
    “The syllogism is simple, but it bears repeating:
    The right to vote implies the right to choose freely on every subject relevant to that vote.
    The right to choose implies the right to receive information and hear arguments about that choice.
    We cannot receive information and arguments about the choices we make in our democracy unless people are free to express themselves.
    Therefore freedom of expression is essential to democracy.”
    What is so astonishing about these arguments from the left, and they extend to more issues than gay marriage, is that dissent is not allowed. Notice the similarity to Islamism and other fascist regimes?
    And so when an official seeks not only to regulate behavior but even opinion and expression, then that person is seeking to create a very real tyranny, to strike at democracy itself.

When he asked the supervisors why they were not using more machanized equipment–tractors, derricks and the like—he was told in no uncertain terms that they were dealing with an employment scenario…..so Milton immediately asked them that if the goal was to employ as many as possible why not give them spoons?
    He was met with dead silence. Losing face is not something the Chinese do well….
