  1. Ooh! Evil capitalists. Ooooh! Amerikkun to boot!
    Scary!
I am sure all those leftie defenders of downtown Toronto , uh, I mean Canadian values, will jump all over this to defend the honour of threatened fragile out of power leftard liberal elite.

  2. No … some of us know and very few … I routinely ask people I meet and have conversation with, if they know who Soros is. None of them know. Especially those who are leftists. They have no idea what’s going on.
The sad fact is that about 80% if voters are clueless. People vote on the most basic of motivations with no understanding of the consequences of their vote.
There needs to be testing to qualify that voters have a basic clue … otherwise elections will remain largely, popularity contests. … just like American Idol. it’s not the best singer who wins.

  3. Abe Froman is right in that the majority of Canadians are totally unaware of this. The majority of people rely on the consensus media both written and televised for their news, so they are never exposed to the full story or even the truth in many cases. This is the main reason why the monopoly held by the consensus media must be broken.
I also agree that far too many suffer from the dumbing down of society by the same media, Hollywood and our indoctrination system called education. Such people are putty in the hands of experienced manipulators such as Obama, Suzuki, Gore and others. I suggest that there is a much bigger percentage of this kind of people in urban centres than in rural areas. The reason being is that there is much less disconnect from reality in rural areas.

  4. I stopped paying any attention to Beck after he bought into the tea party are racists meme.

  5. Attached to Soros are the following;
    Maurice Strong
    Wanker Suzuki
    Boob Rae
    Crouton
    the Desmarais
    Turdeau
    Such a pretty picture. . . .

  7. The Marxist radical left has been infiltrating western societies unchecked since the “hippy 60’s”.
The rest of us have been lulled to sleep with successful and busy lives as they have infiltrated and gained control of our society’s institutions.
This is a complex multi level takeover of western societies by, corporate interests, common self interests, radical Marxism, Liberal Progressives, banking elitists, European elitists, fading monarchies, religious institutions et al.
These “powers” individually and in collusion are the driving the forces to enslave global populations with the intention of having a piece of the ruling pie when the dust settles.
    Lest we forget.
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.” – Thomas Jefferson

  8. A warning to be heeded from Mr. Beck.
That is why this robocall fiasco must be taken seriously. If enough ridings can be manipulated to bring about by-elections to put the Conservative majority in jeopardy, big money will flow in to those ridings. Election rules will be thrown out the window.
When the dust settles the opposition will be in a position to raise a confidence vote. Can we all say coalition? Will the media be demanding an investigation into possible electoral fraud?
    Be afraid,be very afraid.

  9. Robocall has Soros written all over it.
Funny how “Americanization” is a non-issue for Canadian lefties… as long as said influence comes from the American left.

  10. I can’t comment on whether or not Beck is crazy, but whoever is dressing him is certifiable. Wearing your underwear on the outside went out in the early 90’s and it was only ever a chick thing back then.

  11. Once realization sets in, the inevitable future course of events will be civil war and an attempt to wipe out the leadership of the political left. I believe that if we stop short of that level of resistance, we will be tied up indefinitely in the tentacles of such strategies as lawfare, phoney scandals, and the wrong-headed environmental “cause” — and the best we can hope to accomplish will be delaying the inevitable end results. We are going to have to realize that talk alone will not solve this.

  12. That’s right, Mark. Remember how it’s okay for a Kennedy to speak in Toronto paid with tax money but it wasn’t okay for Heston to talk here paid with private money.

  13. atlantic jim – where do you come up with the evidence that Beck considers that the Tea Party people are racists???
To my knowledge, he’s never thought this – but has shown, again and again, that they are not racists.
As for the robocalls – I think that it’s primarily a Liberal. IF there were genuine problems, then, the complaints would have been made immediately, not almost a year later.
So- what’s going on now? The NDP are losing ground; they are weak at the moment, without a leader. The Liberals are locked in a fight with the NDP for control, hoping that the NDP will lose Quebec – and before the budget, trying to disempower the CPC – and, call an election while the NDP are weak.

  14. Glenn Back never said the Tea Party was Racist he is a tea partier he spoke in front of 5 thousnad people on behalf of the Tea Partiers.

  15. This avaaz, MoveOn, tides thing needs to be pursued on a program like Brian Lilley, or Ezra.
It needs to be opened and exposed for the cesspool it is. Hey wait, maybe the cbc could do an expose on it… lol

  16. Atlantic Jim: Glenn Beck routinely DEFENDS the tea party from labels of racism. Get yer facts straight.
Unless you’ve watched/listened to him regularly you have no idea….
I dare you to give it a try.

  17. Welcome to Canada George…Avaaz ye swabs!
George is a consumate currency hustler and will likely try a run at the dollar as well.
No surprise that Obambi turned down the Keystone pipeline; it all plays into George’s instability gambit and resulting profit margins.
The Tides financing of enviro-protest keeps oil prices high and the resource companies make even more profit. If you allow drilling and pipelines naturally fuel prices will drop and the consumer fuelled economy starts to pull out of decline.
But if you like instability like George…
The entire robocalling trash is just a sideshow in a much ‘greater game’.
The problem for the “international leftospherics” is that PM Stephen Harper is egads a Conservative!
Oh the horror…hence the hatchet job over at BC Blue by more Occupy twits:

Never mind that the LIEberals stole $250 million in Adscam…when you can manufacture an ‘election scandalette’.
Think “Coalitionistas” and it all becomes a little clearer.

  18. While I have no problem agreeing that Soros is an evil prick, he, as with Islamism, are opportunistic pathogens rather than causal agents in western civilizational decline. I enjoy Beck’s eccentricities but he seems to have to have a villain to explain the forces behind the cultural and economic decline of the West. No one man can be that omnipotent. The institutional left was well on its way in undermining institutions and attitudes supportive of liberty long before Soros concentrated on throwing his wealth at all their causes. Soros is just another Randian villain in a dumbed-down world where leviathan was built slowly by the electorate.
I’ll bet Harper and his spin doctors are not that happy that Beck is (publicly) a fan. That feeds the spin cycle of the pathologically anti-American leftwing media.

  19. Back in the good old days even their opponents often had a certain respect for Marxist revolutionaries — at least for the idealists who were willing to lay down their lives to fight for the rights of the poor, or to overthrow a repressive Third-World regime. No idealist in those days would be caught dead butt-kissing the likes of a multi-billionaire like George Soros. More than likely they would kidnap the filthy rich Soros in order to hold him ransom for his money to finance the revolution. Strangely, I’m beginning to remember those days with a bit of nostalgia — it was called “redistributive justice” back then.
But alas, those days are gone forever. These are the times of the brave “Armchair Revolutionaries” — bureaucrats and politicians enabling other bureaucrats and politicians with the help of billionaries like Soros to impose a communist dictatorship without all the bloodshed and personal sacrifice to get there. To hell with messy ideals — just go straight to a Police State tyranny by manipulating bureaucrats!
Why bother to kidnap a billionaire like Soros when he is more than willing to give his money voluntarily to finance the revolution? One can secure oneself a position in the neo-apparatchik without ever having to leave the comfort of one’s plush armchair.
Karl Marx must be flipping in his grave.

  20. Soros, through Avaaz has also been meddling in Australian internal affairs through an agency called GetUp! which it financially supports.
The issue is the Finkelstein Inquiry into the Media … an attempt by the current ‘federal government’ to censor and control all forms of the Media.
[From blogger Andrew Bolt] “The report states:
“The Inquiry received and reviewed approximately 10 600 short submissions.
The majority of the submissions were facilitated by two advocacy organisations, Avaaz and NewsStand through the use of online forms. In relation to the submissions facilitated by Avaaz, approximately 9600 submissions made use of the following prepared text [ … ]”
That is 86% of the submissions to the “inquiry” were boilerplate submissions from the Getup supported foreign political organisation Avaaz.”
“Avaaz.org was co-founded by Res Publica, a “community of public sector professionals dedicated to promoting good governance, civic virtue and deliberative democracy”,[2] and MoveOn.org, a George Soros-funded[3], American non-profit progressive public policy advocacy group.[4][5] It was also supported by Service Employees International Union, a founding partner, and GetUp!, an Australian non-profit campaigning organization.”

  21. Most people that I talk to have never even heard of Soros or what he has done and IS doing. As has been mentioned, the leftys in particular, know the least.

  22. This avaaz, MoveOn, tides thing needs to be pursued on a program like Brian Lilley, or Ezra.
It needs to be opened and exposed for the cesspool it is. Hey wait, maybe the cbc could do an expose on it… lol
    End quote:—————-
It’s clear their intent is to force their progressive radical agenda on Canada, and if they’re using foreigners to sign petitions they need to be dealt with via CSIS and our domestic laws.

  23. What makes you think that people working at CSIS aren’t in favour of the progressive agenda?

  24. “This avaaz, MoveOn, tides thing needs to be pursued on a program like Brian Lilley, or Ezra…”
If I remember correctly they already tried that, sorta. There were immediate threats of lawsuits (“SLAPP” suits I believe Ezra calls them). They wear their opponents down through high cost law suits — even if they have little chance of winning, the strategy is to shut people up.
There should be a law against it…

  25. I have said right from the start that the robo-call fiasco was orchestrated by a Soros funded group.

  26. “…the robo-call fiasco was orchestrated by a Soros funded group.”
Very possible. Or at the very least a group of Anarchists, the latter of which do not believe in elections or Government at all. I honestly don’t understand why the default position is to blame the Conservatives without any evidence.
Doesn’t it make more sense to first eliminate the most parsimonious of explanations before accepting grandiose conspiracies?
For example, who stands the most to gain from stopping people from voting, disrupting Canadian elections, or casting doubt on the legitimacy of our elected Government? Certainly the anti-oil sands lobby in the States, Anarchists, etc., for starters. And possibly the Opposition Parties if they are trying to pull another coup — i.e. “Coup 3.0” (1.0 was the “coalition”, 2.0 was “contempt of Parliament”). And sadly, even Bob Rae is acting more and more like he could be simply another version of Michael Ignatieff — i.e. “Ignatieff 1.2”.

  27. Ok, gents…
Lets stop reacting…. Let’s come up with a program or strategy to stop soros…. And I am talking a grassroots effort.
you and me …. It is possible

  28. wallyj @ 1:14 and Hans @ 3:35, exactly! This robo-call exercise is a deliberate attempt to overthrow the last Canadian federal election. This shows the power that these groups feel they already have.
The events that Streetcred elaborates and the Gateway process gives us some idea of the lengths that these people will go to to disrupt processes they disagree with.
Someone mentioned 1960s hippies. I would suggest that this is much more insidious than that and that the background work for these movements was laid in the 1930s and 40s by Uncle Joe. Cambridge was not the only university that spawned infiltrators.
Soros learned his trade well in the camps.

  29. OK. Politely…
Canadian gun owners have been railing about Soros and his Open Society, MoveOn, Avaaz, Ploughshares and IANSA for years.
Are folks starting to see what we were trying to tell you with the MSM blaring over our voices?

  30. Nanook, just keep voting CPC, and keep letting tour CPC MP know that you’re only supporting them for as long as they shrink government. If they stop, you’re gone.
AS government shrinks, the George Soros-es of the world have less and less to seize control of.
Starve them of cash. Tax cuts. That’s the way you do it.

  31. And there is no reason to believe that Soros, who has helped collapse five different world currencies and is known as an economic terrorist Asia, will not do the same thing to Canada.
This is the kind of crap I expect to hear from Naomi Klein. Soros made a lot of money betting against some currencies that then collapsed. He’s no more a terrorist than the Kochs, whom the left has a similar obsession-fetish over.

  32. Starve them of cash. Tax cuts. That’s the way you do it.
That didn’t work in America won’t work here. To shrink government, there must be CUTS. And the CPC will never cut government. Ever.
Also, this article is pathetic. Is Beck’s response to Robocalls ‘they do bad stuff too!’? I can see why he’s off the air.

  33. All that Soros is doing is providing funding to a number of leftist groups. He’s rich enough that he can do so but his talent has been to recognize when he can make a buck and he doesn’t back a losing cause. The people to go after are the ones who head up Avaz and similar groups. I realize that getting Libertarians and Conservatives to join organizations is of the level of difficulty of herding cats, but what is needed is a group to oppose these leftist organizations. The US has the Tea party and we need the Canadian equivalent.

  34. Those that don’t remember Soros must have missed the critter character “Gollum” in Lord of the Rings…The Spooky Guy
George makes hand made Candles….Don’t Ask!

  35. humm.. today as I was watching a debate in the HOC the MP from Guelph, Frank Valicote, started rambling about a ‘planned coup’ in the last election (2011). His face flashed panic, he stalled briefly and abruptly turned his words away from the ‘coup’ thing.
The performance of Mr. Valicote caught my attention because the Conservatives did not have a ‘party pal’ to plan a ‘coup’ with; the parties that did have coup pals were the Liberanos/Dippers/Blocistas. The Bloc did not loose the last election, they just changed their underwear
to red and the official name from Bloc to NDP. They were intent on being NDP because the ROC would not readily accept any blocheads as members of the Cabinet (the blocheads are traitors after all). I am convinced that the troika were confident that the liberaos/Dipblocistas would win enough ridings in the east/west coast areas to overturn the Conservative projected minority.
When it became evident that the Dippers and Liberanos were splitting the vote in some ridings, the robo calls were directed to send some voters to non polling stations. Conservatives kept their own members informed but if a riding were leaning Dipper then Liberal votes would ‘upset’ the desired totals. Makes sense to me that this would be a winning strategy for a Troika takeover, parties dependent on each other for totals needed manipulation in the voting booths.
Mr. Valicote knows there was only one planned ‘coup’ in the pipe in the 2011 election, he was part of it.
‘Was that you Georgie’? (Quoting Glen Beck)
Was that a slip of the tongue, Mr. V.? Does Georgy Porgie know about your slip? Georgy is not going to like it.
