Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this week’s distinguished lecture, documentary and interview symposium. This week, for your delectation, we feature kumi-daiko (組太鼓), the relatively recent art-form of ensemble Japanese taiko (太鼓) drumming, which may have originated with jazz drummer Daihachi Oguchi (小口 大八), ca. 1951.
