Last night I posted a link on Facebook, along with this comment: “I’m curious, what’s the difference between this and prostitution? And some women wonder why truly nice single guys have become cynical?!?”
This morning I woke up to discover that the *S* had hit the fan. One 30-something woman, a hardcore feminist, had accused me and other male commenters of placing female prostitutes “on a lower bar” than other women and in doing so, veering into Marc Lépine territory.
I wish I were kidding. I wish I was exaggerating. But I’m not. And this is not just some random, crazy woman. She has a fairly prominent role in the healthcare community in B.C.
How one can go from female scam artists in New York City to a mass murderer in Montreal is a leap of logic I’ll never understand. But later in the day, some clarity arrived in the form of this conversation between Charles Adler and Barbara Kay, talking about her recent column.
P.S. For the record, my original comment had everything to do with the dishonesty of the women in the story and nothing to do with prostitution per say other than they didn’t have the forthrightness to just admit what they were engaging in. Such is well described in this humorous story attributed to George Bernard Shaw.

per ‘say’ ?
Correction- It’s NOT Marc Lepine. His birth name is Gamil Gharbi.
Riddle me why a guy like that would do what he did.
It’s almost time.
You know, the annual flags at half mast, hair shirt bleating about the ‘Montreal Massacre’.
About how all men are abusive, and that is the reason for a criminal who murdered 13 or 14 women in Montreal shootings.
As a man, it’s offensive to me to suggest Canadian misogny was the reason for a third world miscreant’s misdeed, who’s culture certainly, at the least, doesn’t believe in equal rights for women.
But, PC demands one ignores ‘Honour Killings’ and not comment on the reason for certain ‘Women Killings’ if it doesn’t fit in with the lib-left feminists.
These are the same types(Marion Boyd) who argued to allow Sharia law in Ontario, until her more rational feminist sisters had sober second thoughts.

“It’s NOT Marc Lepine. His birth name is Gamil Gharbi.”
You beat me to it!
The Liberal left conveniently ignores the Muslim connection to “The Montreal Massacre”.
In recent Canadian multicultural news we now have blacks rioting in Toronto streets attacking police, with a few arrests. Can you spell Katrina and the London Riots? It was a little slow in coming but it’s here now, thank you Pierre idiot Trudeau.
Here’s Dan Akroyd’s classic take on the subject (“Jane, you ignorant..”)
Weekend Update: Lee Marvin Palimony
Folks, I’m fully aware of the murderer’s half-Muslim roots. But I wanted to stay focused on the core issue which is, as ‘Observer’ alluded to, that there are some out there who use Lépine/Gharbi as a stick with which to beat down all men.
But while we’re on the subject, I will stick with my constant assertion here on SDA, even if it’s unpopular: Not all Muslims are terrible people. Yes, they have a cancer in their society but that doesn’t mean that all are infected by it.
Robert W. (Vancouver) >
I agree and understand, yet the issue about Lépine/Gharbi Muslim roots is that the massacre may be directly linked to a Muslim predisposition of misogyny, honour killings etcetera. This angle is completely ignored but may very well be the fundamental root cause of what happened in Montreal.
The Liberal left including feminist organization and gun confiscation advocated have used this sorry disaster to further their own agenda’s to a good deal of success with fabricated and incomplete facts.
For this to be prostitution, the woman would have to spread her legs after dinner.
Yes, Robert W., we should not generalize about Muslims. That would put us at the same level of the extremist feminists who generalize about ALL men.
There are Muslims at my workplace who are decent, honourable people.
Though there are some undeniable shared values among various cultures, you have to treat people as individuals. Or, if you don’t, you are a collectivist.
And, who are we in the West to attack Muslims? Though abortion is not prohibited by Islam, it is not carried out anywhere near on the levels that it is here at home.
The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars……
I agree with both Knight 99 @ 6:25p and Observer @ 6:43pm. Is that possible? With me it is.
This wasn’t a great start to my day, I’ll tell you. My accuser wasn’t just random FB friend out there in the ether. I know her, not well, but I know her. To be accused of being one tiny step away from being Canada’s next mass-murderer isn’t something I normally get with my morning coffee!
ADULT ALERT:
===========
It’s called “escorting”. You can actually hire ladies to go to events with you. You can also hire ladies to be intimate with you. I know.
I personally respect women a lot and will not date a woman and lie just to get laid. I did that once and felt like a rat.
So, I prefer to keep it honest.
Now, on the other hand, if I were married (and I wish I were) if I didn’t bring home the bacon, she’d probably stop making bacon.
Something else that happened 72 years prior is forgotten around this time of year – or given half-assed coverage at all.
2,000 may have been killed initially, but probably more succumbed to their horrific injuries or to hypothermia in the blizzard afterwards.
The “All Men Are Violent, Abusive Tyrants” thing is finally wearing thin after 25 years of punishing us with the label. But no worries, ’cause they are replacing it with “Everybody has a mental illness called ‘homophobia’ if they oppose the Gay ideological agenda”.
That’s the only thing that worries me about Harper’s abolition of section 13 on hate speech: I hope it doesn’t abolish official State-sponsored “hate propaganda” as well, which is something the State or its bureaucracies engage in. In fact if the Human Rights Commissions were doing their jobs in the first place, then they would have never allowed men to be characterized as “violent abusive tyrants”, or for State agencies to promote the idea, or for laws such as the gun registry to be established on the basis of that propagandistic hate label against men.
It seems to me that hate propaganda laws were supposed to be established to inhibit the State — in view of what the Nazi government did to the Jews — from official group hatred. But somehow they got turned upside down in Canada to inhibit the legitimate free speech rights of its citizens instead.
We still have a long way to go in Canada, especially with the new State-sponsored “homophobia”-mental illness label. And of course Parties like the NDP are always looking for ways to impose the “racism” label as official State propaganda. You don’t have to be an actual racist — all you have to do is disagree with NDP politics and they officially label you a racist.

No, no, no; judging from extensive viewing of alleged situation-comedies and advertisements on commercial television, it would seem that the vast majority of men are ignorant, unadventurous, unromantic, slothful, bumbling incompetents who, for example, cannot be trusted with the simplest of shopping duties.
Holy crap, how many Roberts do we have here?
Robert The First says: “She has a fairly prominent role in the healthcare community in B.C.”
Yes, and THAT woman is why I post as The Phantom. This crazy woman of yours is another clone of that fruitcake Victoria who posted on here a while ago. There’s HUNDREDS of ’em out there.
As to the Match.com girl, no different than the chicks who cadge drinks. Bar scum.
Funny that women are not commonly evaluated on the basis of honor. Important distinction. Some have it, some don’t.
Until I read this post,I’d completely forgotten that THIS is THE most infamous DAY in Canadian history.
I suppose I was raised all wrong, because I have absolutely NO problem remembering what “DAY” in history TOMORROW IS.
Then we have the Ultimate Escort & Cadger Ex Gov. Gen. Michael Jean stating that all women are always under threat from males. She has a cuckhold for a husband thingy tho I noticed… Kinda like John Ralston Saul Purina
That’s right Wendy…scratch out another tune on your fiddle. Maybe more dead women will rise up and dance for your self-serving political purposes.
“Until I read this post,I’d completely forgotten that THIS is THE most infamous DAY in Canadian history.”
Yes, it’s the day of the Halifax Explosion that killed approx 2000 people and injured some 9000 more. Shame on you for not remembering!

“…if I were married (and I wish I were) if I didn’t bring home the bacon, she’d probably stop making bacon.”
Then it wouldn’t have been much of a marriage to begin with. The only secret to a successful marriage is mutual respect and a sharing of vast interests. Only then will “for richer or poorer, in sickness or in health” have any meaning.
Otherwise, unattached male or female’s should have the ability to make any arrangements they wish for companionship or sex, providing it doesn’t hurt anyone else. Forced marriages, marriages of convenience or societal expectations are simply disasters in the making.
A women accepting an on-line date is not even close to prostitution. If she does it repeatedly, still no. I know prostitutes, and this is not prostitution.
I do think that the women in question are looking for a good time, and hoping for a mate. Good luck to all parties, and she may have found it. Likely in the back of their mind, they hope as much as the man, that this night be the night to remember. “ if you like pina coladas”
Women who use the Montreal slaughter to villify men should be shunned. They may or must use sites because that is a committed date that does not come after face to face small talk.
And ,of course, all muslims are not crazy misogynists or hate-filled simpletons that want to make everyone a muslim,a slave,or dead, heck no. But never ever forget that muslims, like bikers, when push comes to shove their allegiance does not favour you.
Observer >
“There are Muslims at my workplace who are decent, honourable people.”
That’s great, I have a friend who loves his pitbulls, and they are friendly little buggers. Down the street a neighbour’s pitbull ripped of a 5 year olds face.
The issue of Islam is the encroachment of its ideological belief system into our society. It’s good and bad attributes have been well documented for the last 1300 years. The core values within Islam are incompatible to our own, in the case of this issue it has to do with the treatment of women, simply one of many. This is completely overlooked by apologists for Islam in our society, who fool themselves by believing that knowing a few friendly Muslims absolves the problems they create in our society by not converting and conforming to our universally accepted standards of society, human rights, freedoms of beliefs, free speech, separation of church & state and equality of gender etcetera………..
Robert,
“She has a fairly prominent role in the healthcare community in B.C.”
Says it ALL…’don’t it’ ? ”
Not a member of the BCNU perchance?
This is why People should go Dutch on dates. Until it becomes serious.
What’s the difference between this and prostitution?
Prostitutes don’t make a guy buy them dinner first.
Women start 50% of all domestic disputes. A cop I know said it best: domestic violence is almost always a case of two idiots fighting, and the smaller, weaker idiot losing.
I am just throwing this one out there…but I am willing to bet the large majority of women that are getting slapped around and beaten are mostly liberals.
The Phantom >
“Funny that women are not commonly evaluated on the basis of honor.”
Good point. It’s also funny that our society pumps out the “equality between sex’s” line, yet bad behaviour by some women is usually a non issue. It’s as if women aren’t capable of being liars, cheats and general all around scum. Not an equal belief system at all.

Islam and Abortion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_and_abortion
Today marks the anniversary of one of Canadas largest Honour killing by the Muslim Gamil Garbi. Trained in the arts of handling women by his strict sharia dad, Gamil tried to show us that Women had no place in education and was an affront to the teachings of Allah.
But the femskanks decided to turn it into something else and the gun cringers jumped on board. Such things happen when screaching tards take over such shocking events.
I was doing adult supervision in a local bar and there was one young fellow needed a little work on his pick-up line . He’d say ” Hi , my names Bob , may i join you and buy you a drink ? ” After watching him strike out a few times another guy says ” you’re doin it all wrong . Watch ” So he says ” Hi my names Larry ,may I join you I’ll buy you a drink and a car . Still nothing , so he tries again , Hey c’mere , I’ll buy you a drink and house .Damn if it didn’t work . I think he bought her about 5 drinks before she left.

I don’t know about abortions but I do no they don’t like DNA testing!
I lived & worked in Algeria for several years, single women there were always urging to talk to me alone. I was always careful and at first mistook it to be attraction to my Canadian passport and ability to sponsor immigration.
I was informed by colleges that Algerian Muslim tradition forced marriage on any man that a woman and co-accuser claimed to have sex with the woman, guaranteed by law if she was pregnant. The catch was that DNA maternity tests were absolutely inadmissible in court. Hence a friendly chat around the corner can easily become the makings of a new insta-cup Canadian Muslim family.
Oh yea, many of them were pretty “slutty” even by our standards, far less so around the local men and very much so around white expats (other race expats did not qualify).

There’s a big difference between accepting an online date because she’s interested in the guy, and accepting an online date because she’s going to get a free dinner out of it. The girl in the article was specifically accepting dates with 4-5 men a week for the purpose of saving money on groceries. She was dating men solely for the purpose of financial benefit. Do you think any of these men she contacted actually got the date if he said they would be going dutch?
Wally J said “But never ever forget that muslims, like bikers, when push comes to shove their allegiance does not favour you.”
Very true. A friend of mine used to have a little saying about bikers that was pretty good. It applies here I think. She used to say “that bikers are the only people she knows who get praised just for acting normal.”
Leftist politics — first you create inevitable problems, then you blame normal people for these problems and bring in a new round of “solutions” to guarantee future problems. They stay angry because they never get it — and never will get it. I gave up trying to be reasonable with leftists about five years ago, and my testicles have all grown back. Try it.
Robert, You ignorant asshole. After all these years of putting up with this feminine clap, truly logical people of all genders realize that the feminists are fighting a battle not worth arguing about by normal folks. It’s up to you to figure if all that crap actually matters.
As with Garry, the ‘healthcare’ reference piques my curiosity.
With Robert W. being from Vancouver, it would suggest to me that her name might be ‘Debra’and a former union president.
How’s my guess?
Mercules ” She was dating men solely for the purpose of financial benefit “.
I don’t think so,I think that she wss attracted to the site because of the ‘free dates’ and the possibility of a true love. I am not a psychologist/psychiatrist,but I have lived with a few crazy women(not only my sisters),and I have listened to more than a few ladies say what they would do to find Mr.Right, and I have seen the results of Mr.Wrong.
There is a lot more to this women’s search than good food and fancy drinks.
Prostitution is too strong a word, but it’s still immoral.
These guys are going in good faith, that they might meet someone to start a long-term relationship with. She’s taking advantage of that.
Therefore, she’s a thief.
$ FKA gord — With all due respect, your friend doesn’t know bikers.
I’ve heard the comment before, you kind of mangled it,but it is not true.
No Guff,
Or maybe her “2IC”…jan-ice…didn’t mention any names, though…
Sounds more like fraud than prostitution. But I’d call it a cyber-age manhood test. She said she was looking for meal tickets, but was using that as a pretext. When she found the guy she figured she wanted, she quit the smorg.
Just wondering why no-one asked the politicos that showed up at service why they were not ashamed of themselves for not allowing any of the men and women present at the massacre to have been “carrying”. Seems to me that if they can stone the Harper government for killing the LG registry and cry that this government will have blood on its hands the next time there is an incident then perhaps we should be pushing back and demanding the right to self-protection. The liberal progressive dogma of ‘if one life is saved then the LG registry was worth it’ can be turned around so that “a concealed carry permit will prevent another incident”.
Figure women?
Give up guys.. you’ll drive yourself nuts.
It frightens but doesn’t surprise me that a successful, educated modern women has never heard Robert’s “argument”/observation, which is hundreds if not thousands of years old.
Once again, George Bernard Shaw revealed himself to be nowhere near as clever as he and his admirers believe. His play Mrs Warren’s Profession was about this very question: isn’t a wife just a glorified prostitute.
However, in that thesis, Shaw revealed his own betting naivite (and indeed, he was a virgin into his thirties):
Men don’t pay prostitutes for sex.
They pay them to LEAVE.
And they “pay” their wives to STAY.
But George Bernard Shaw has a taxpayer sponsored annual theater festival, and I don’t.
Sigh.
re. Lepine vs. Gharbi – it’s not about suggesting that “all Muslims are terrible people”. As far as I know Lepine was not a practicing Muslim. He had, however, pretty obviously been raised by a man who’d grown up in a misogynist, violent culture. Since the leftists have been insisting for all these years that Gharbi/Lepine’s killing spree is somehow an indictment of all western men, we might as well point out that the evidence really doesn’t support that idea (which would be an idiotic one in any case). Happily, in this instance, the point can be made by the simple expedient of insisting on calling someone by his real name.
This is why I keep pushing Shaidle’s attempt at creating a “quiddick” meme. Narrative matters, language matters, assumptions matter. Letting the left control the terms of discourse because, eh, we should just be nice about these things is a failed conservative policy.
Told you robert you should have posted the whole thing on here to show everyone what i said and what transpired ….they would have a great picture of what a radical man hating feminist looks like!!
