11. I love this guy. This kind of thinking can only come from Quebec. Obviously he wants to lower education taxes and offset it by taxing those who would leave Canada after benefiting from a “world-class” education, although why they would leave a “world-class” economy is anyone’s guess. So let’s lower taxes and charge these quitters. Because you can’t leave education taxes where they are AND tax these people. That would be double taxation. Loving this guy. Get rid of all the useless support staff and DEI programs while you’re at it. Here’s a broom. Start cleaning…

12. Time to be contrarian here. An education costs money. At present the taxpayer pays a high percentage, how high we don’t know because it is hidden. When a graduate goes elsewhere that value is lost – return to taxpayer zero.
    Lets propose that all costs are charged to a student’s account. After graduation the grad working in Canada can write off from taxes paid – a tax payment of $50K reduces your debt by $50K. No effective change for a grad working and paying taxes in Canada. A grad that moves elsewhere has to paydown his debt through actual cash payments. The taxpayer recoups. A side benefit would be that universities would have to justify their costs as they would be exposed. and “Studies” courses would be harder to justify.
    The one who benefits pays – a time honoured capitalist principle.

13. It’s impossible to hate the Libscum too much.

    Here’s a thought. Cut the outrageous income taxes and reduce idiotic anti-business regulation and make it attractive for grads with useful degrees to stay.

    Then chop university funding by 50% and force them to shut down the toilet paper degree programs, starting with anything containing “studies” in the title.

    Who can blame anyone with a marketable degree from wanting to get the hell off this trainwreck created by the insane liberal left?
