  2. What the heck was Ms. Zero doing at a NASCAR race? Slumming for votes of course, I suppose she is trying to get rid of the Marie Antoinette label she so richly deserves. It will take a lot more then this and trips to Target to obscure the reality of what that woman is.
    As for Mr. Fallon? I never found him the least bit funny on SNL. As a matter of fact SNL stopped being funny over twenty years ago.

  3. There is a cure for this type of thing. Its called, no Republican ever goes on one of these shows ever again. No muss, no fuss, they just aren’t available. Ever.

  4. Michele Bachmann is a serious candidate for President of the United States. I suspect that she didn’t see it coming, however, handled the slight with grace once cognizant of slight.
    It does bemuse me somewhat that Hollywood continues with pranks that are really, I guess flat or meaningless and yet pats itself on the back for having done something they deem witty or droll.
    Oscar Wilde who I guess may have approved of such a stunt and who I deem a remarkable writer that I can not actually embrace had a style and wit that was worthy of mocking a Presidential Candidate. The Fallon guy well not so much.

  5. If Fallon wants to play such music it’s his choice. Potential guests — particularly ones whose views Fallon might not agree with — might think twice, however, before agreeing to do his show.

  6. Fallon is as funny as a boil on a cold sore, only moronic lefties can take any amount of Fallon and Letterman, same dullards who could sit through Rosie ODumbell and Ellen I would think, get a life people and trash like the aforementioned would slink back to the sewers of New York.

    Michelle Bachmann is a candidate for President of the United States, I am unsure of what you are implying here.
    Madame Bachmann has no color, sex, or religion, what she does have is representation of a country and a duty to all Americans not just those that have some special interest.
    Lobbyists seem to have overwhelmed most western countries. I would hope Ms. Bachmann has better sense than to succumb to the whims of those Vultures or yours as you imply in your statement.

  15. What surprised me about the Obama Marketing Ploy was that The First Lady went to the Target chain which has “Jim” Jamison as a member of it’s Board of Directors.
    The same Jim “Jam it to them” described in the book Reckless Endangerment about the toxic Freddie Mac mortgages, a book which was brought to my attention on S.D.A. Cheers;

  19. Hey Jeff (9:28 AM) Unfortunately, these are not mere pranks. There are a great many people, just over voting age, that do not get their information from credible sources but rather from the Stewarts and the Lettermans and the Fallons (never seem him) and their ilk and Obama is just one result. Recall Tina’s “I can see Alaska…”? Ask your aquaintenances where that came from and most will say somethiong like “that Palin is soooo stupid”.
    The late night ‘comedians’ weild a tremendous amout of influence and they love it. (And they waste it)

  22. I doubt that Bachmann could understand what lyrics were contained in that mindless noise and if not, it certainly didn’t throw her off her game. She later asked the network for an apology, likely after being informed of the insult.
    The only problem with Rush’s analogy is that the First Lady does indeed have a large butt (not quite as large perhaps, as the chip on her shoulder) but Bachmann is nothing like those ghetto-cultured lyrics.
    Bachmann is still first choice for the nomination in my books. Guts, principles, and integrity, and not bad to look at! Perfection is not an option.

You’re right, CRB (12:41) that these sort of things aren’t mere “pranks”, they’re evidence of a political culture on the legacy television networks in which the left is constantly promoted and the right vilified. All the major network talk shows – Leno, Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, Jon Stewart, Fallon – are anti-Republican, and this has real repercussions for the reasons you noted: many, many people – voters – who are mostly uninformed/disinterested absorb their political beliefs by a kind of social osmosis; they don’t want to be uncool, and if these people watch *any* network talk shows they will come to understand that cool people prefer the Democrats, and that being Republican is self-evidently bad, and laughable, deserving of an eye-roll and snark.
    Pamela Geller’s post on the Fallon incident might be slightly hyperbolic, but her underlying point is completely true:
    “The American people are trapped in a leftist vise. They have a chokehold on the culture, big media, movies, music, academia. It’s like we are living in Soviet Russia when the ‘party’ completely controlled the message.
    “The left ruined the country, destroyed it from the inside out. How do they answer for Obama? By destroying, ridiculing and marginalizing every rational, reasoned, America-proud patriot. This isn’t about party politics — that is so fifty years ago. This is a civil war — the seditionists are exalted and the patriots are demonized. The past forty yeast has been a slo-mo coup.”

    But when the object of their ridicule and insult is a conservative or a Christian, the worst blowback will come in the form of some serious mewling.

  26. Tbe mention of Jimmy Fallon and a few minutes of seeing his show, before changing channels, reminds me of the Mr Slicks of this world.

    The used car business- at least in Ontario has come a long way- nothing against it today. In the 1950’s this business was legendary in the worst way.

    Fallon is yer quintessential used car salesman of that era. Glib, with a veneer of polite behaviour. One can imagine him in front of his bath room mirror. “Oh ain’t it hard to be humble” etc.

EBD @ 4:25, in reading the comments on Pamela Geller’s article on this incident in Atlas Shrugged, one of the commenters mentions the song was picked by Ahmir Khalib Thompson, a convert converted to the Islamic sect of The Nation of Gods and Earths. Now this lefty episode is starting to make more sense.

    It’s more than that and worse than that, EBD. See little snotnose Jimmy Fallon is on the very losing end of a late night rating war. He got very high ratings when he debued in 2009, thanks to the Jay Leno-Conan O’Brien screwup. His numbers have been tanking ever since, and that means lots of ad dollars lost by NBC.
    And when little scuz-buckets like this get desperate, they do stuff like this. And when he’s called on it, he throws his band leader under the bus.
    In short, EBD, he’s not just a leftie, he’s also a ratings whore.
    Peter, a used car salesman? That’s far too polite for this guy. Given his desperation for ratings and his known lack of character, he’d clean toilets with his tongue if he thought it would work, because NBC will dump his ass, given how badly his ratings are these days.
    But Michelle Bachmann gave him and his producer the perfect opportunity. Dive-bomb a prominent, attractive conservative woman ala Sarah Palin and get his show the thing everyone’s talking about.

  29. I have nothing to say. I am just …. The only thing to do is continue batting for reason and hard working, honest white collar & blue collar people … who live in fly-over country. These people do not sneer at NASCAR, nor use it as a political photo-op; they do not denigrate Americans who work hard each day for less than a Democrat liberal makes in an hour.
