    Laura Ingraham was criticizing Obama for shirking work again, not drinking a beer.
    Of course Ed Schultz misses the point and tries to deflect the issue from Obama’s fecklessness and create an new issue about drinking beer and his own boorish name calling.

  12. I found it curious (if not hypocritical) that, after the tornado ripped through Joplin, Obama said, “We’re with you…” Quite a trick. He was in Ireland at the time.
    All that was lost on Schultz, of course.

  15. When Schultz resorts to calling is superiors ‘sluts’ you know he frightened, his side is losing, he sees the wall coming and he can’t deal with it.
    What he did in calling someone with as much integrity as Laura Ingram a slut, was tell us that it is he who is the slut.
    Laura will laugh this off because compared the Schultz, she is a giant.

    Schultzy is just being “hip” and “with it”.
    Personally I’ve never had a problem with sluts. They’re great to hang out with as long as you don’t try to take ’em out to a fancy dinner. Or let them balance your check book.

  17. If someone called me a slut publicly they’d be talking to my lawyer, he should be fired period. The left keep telling us we have no class and we’re confrontational yet they constantly call conservative women sluts and other nasty names.

  22. This is garden variety progressivism. Didn’t other progressives use precisely the same approach on Sarah Palin, who they knew they could not beat, and so resorted to nasty smears, such as the one the repellent Andrew Sullivan repeated endlessly.
    This is Obama’s base, and notice Obama in fact encourages the no holds barred approach.

  25. I guess Schultz’s apology is not as titillating as his original remarks hence the paucity of post-apology comments on this thread. Anyways here’s my comment: Astounding! Great start Mr. Schultz, you are setting a fine example for your liberal colleagues. In fact you’re demonstrating a standard for us all.

  26. His apology seems as sincere as a man can offer. He sounded as if he feels the shame he should after such commentary. I would be willing to accept the truth of his sincerity at face value as he has not demonstrated a pattern of such comments.

    Yes, he seemed very sorry to have been suspended for a week, quite happy to apologize (crawl and beg forgiveness really) if that’s what it takes to get back on the air, and still thinks Laura Ingram is a slut but only inside his head now.
    Moment of actual candor followed by frantic @ss covering, sincere only in its fran-ticity if I may coin such a word.
    I hope Laura Ingram’s husband gets to SMACK this guy some day. In public!

  29. Don’t know much about Schultz, but he did apologize (a little too much I thought) and it is time to move on. Besides, we all do stuff like that right here on this blog all the time (and are sometimes castigated for it).

  30. Some years ago I wrote a country and western song entitled, “I Met That Girl In Tulsa, and Tulsa’s Just ‘A Slut’ Spelled Backward”. For some reason (quality, perhaps) it was never recorded or released, which I always thought was a shame. It would have ensured that I could never dare set foot in Tulsa, of course, but I bet I’d be a huge star in Oklahoma City.
