It’s easy to see why many Europeans casually jump to the conclusion that Mr. Wilders is a hatemonger. He wants to halt non-Western immigration to the Netherlands until existing immigrants can be integrated, and he wants to deport any foreigner who commits a crime — the same sort of policies as those advocated by genuine xenophobes.
But even so, his insistence on the proper distinction between faith and ideology is an idea that deserves to be taken seriously. For it invites the question: If we permit, and even encourage, the excoriation of totalitarian cults created by modern dictators, why do we stigmatize, and even criminalize, such excoriation in the case of arguably similar notions attributed to a 7th-century Bedouin taking what is claimed to be divine dictation?
Why not adopt the immigration policy of whatever perspective country the persons are coming from?
If they’re from Mexico, then they would be treated the same as the Mexican immigration policy dictates, from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan and so on!

Multiculturalism is a policy of homogenization of all National cultures. The HR Dept of the Multinational Corporations that want this is the UN. The more agreements signed with the UN, the smaller our National status grows. Eventually removing our borders. Immigration is not a Right, it is a privledge still granted by Nation States. Wife and I were at the Wilders lecture in London last night. An attentive and appreciative crowd of about two hundred. I did comment that it looked a bit like a Reform Party nomination meeting, but hey, the greyer heads are wiser. Right? Both Solomon and Wilders received numerous ovations. Question period was short and was cut off for lack of time at 20 min. Should be longer in Toronto and Ottawa, Ezra. Only one questioner disagreed with Mr Wilders’ position and it seemed to me that his diagreement was ‘knee jerk’. His heart was not in it.
Anyone in T or O who can still do it should go. Well worth the time #and security hassle#.

Gert Wilder ‘offends’ the seedy sect (greenie fanatics, UN elites, Bolshevik wanna be’s, young people with pimples and a chip on their shoulders etc.) because he is handsome, well spoken and courageous. Geert Wilders is not a frumpy look like Lenin or Hitler kind of man, he is not a wild eyed fanatic – he is serious and he speaks with conviction and has facts to back up what he says. People naturally wonder why he risks his life for a belief in freedom. People wondered the same of The Founding Fathers of America: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams… and the patriots who fought the War of Independence; people also wondered why Confederate soldiers fought for states rights in the Civil War (the Civil war was not about slavery; slavery was an issue for less than 20% of the soldiers). People in Canada still wonder why young men volunteered to fight Hitler in WWII. People fight for Freedom because they value independence above all else and the idea of living as a slave revolts them more than death. In North America few people have any notion of what it would be like to live a life without any personal rights and freedoms; consequently they do not value individual rights. People surrender their rights for money and security; they volunteer to be part time slaves because they are too stupid to understand that Freedom is not a part time idea – it is all or nothing. Geert is warning free people because he has retained the ability to be outraged by egregious assaults on Freedom in his own country – assaults by ideologues from a foreign country.
We, Canadians could learn much from Mr. Wilders if we would listen with our own precarious right to live as we chose (our limited Freedom) in mind.
I extend my welcome to Mr. Wilders. My ancestors fought for the Freedom of his country and I thank him for fighting for the Freedom of mine. People, like my Highland ancestors, came to Canada to make a life for themselves because they were booted off their rented land (crofts) in Scotland by a foreign nation (England). Canada was a chance for them to be beholden to no man and they took that chance rather than starving in the streets or working as a wage slave.
I hope that Geert mentions the value of having the Right to own Property enshrined in the constitution of free nations. When the state can dictate the use of property to a citizen, the citizen is just a caretaker of property. As the Phantom said so well in a former post here at SDA: free citizens, not the government, decide who will be accepted and who will not be accepted in a community. Free citizens overrule public servants who have no business in the business of a nation.
Had the pleasure of listening to Mr. Wilders last night in London and encourage everyone to try to attend his Toronto or Ottawa talks if in the areas.

Any rational person can come to the conclusion that there do exist good, hard-working Muslims who wish no harm to anyone. There also exist masses of lunatics for whom fire-bombing is a perfectly legitimate response to anything and everything they find offensive. Such apologetics serve only to stymie serious debates. We’ve so wrapped ourselves up in political correctness that we are more afraid of giving offense than the actual threats posed by lunatics. I’ll wager that if we stood up to bullies more often, we wouldn’t be talking about this now.
