Today, Thursday April 21, 2011, marks the 85’th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s birth. As a third- millennium Canadian, I think we should stand as an independent republic now, free from previous millennia’s royal constraints, and yet I don’t think we should do that as long as Queen Elizabeth retains her titular role, because I think she’s a hell of a dame (pardon my language, your Majesty).
