Fawn Parker is the PhD student in creative writing at UNB at Fredericton and the target of G. Todd Slones’s wrath. I taught and researched at the Faculty of Arts, where Ms. Parker writes her junk. I survived my 32 years at the faculty, as a dye-in-the-wool conservative by being easy going with everybody at having a sense of humor. Just so people know, the Faculty of Arts here is not highly regarded, quite mediocre actually. This is why Ms. Parker came here from the far-left environs of Toronto — the standards of the Arts faculty are low. She is pursuing a PhD since it’s like a union card for a person to become a professor. A tenured professorship is a resting place where writers go for a safe, lucrative job. Looking at Ms. Parkers Wiki entry, she has thrived through left-wing federal government grants, like all talentless writers.
BTW, UNB at Fredericton is known for its science and technology reearch. I have met numerous grad students who come here from all over the world to study in chemistry, engineering, biology, computing science, etc. While Arts departments are shrinking, science and technology here are thriving. DM.
