    In the secret labs of Harvard Iggy was cloned in a secret CIA experiment. To quell public alarm, Iggy1 and Iggy2 share the stage. Unfortunately, Iggy2 shares the mental capacity of the insect that inadvertently found its way into the cloning chamber (remember The Fly?) Thus, they inevitably contradict each other at each appearance.
    Hopefully Harvard can sort out which is which when they return for the fall semester.

  28. I guess some are missing the point. Yes, the Polytechnique massacre was the genesis of the Long Gun Registry, But Mr. Lepine or whatever, still had do get a WAC before he purchased his weapon. So the authorities would have known about his weapon possession. So what?
    Canada already had a gun registry system before this tragedy. The new system was simply a rather expensive band aid. A band aid that doesn’t work. People kill not guns. Or as the wonderfully acerbic Prince Phillip said after a similar massacre in the UK,
    “Would you have preferred that he used a cricket bat.?”

Otterdriver, we would be happy to put them up at every gravel road intersection (my part of rural Sask is still suspicious of everyone who drives solely on pavement), again, we will also be happy to paste Lingers pic over Iggys and reuse for the Sask campaign. This should make the greens happy. (My mother also rinses out the spray jugs before we burn them because, in her words, it says so on the side them!

    Like so much of recent Canadian history, I suspect that he missed it, being in England, or somewhere.
    He probably saw the movie Polytechnique and that is his reference. That or else one of his handlers suggested it was a good line. Not much wonder why his approval in Quebec is tanking.

  49. I am hoping a reporter asks Ig to tell Canadians the names of two of the victims. People would get upset when I called it Marc Lapine day. My reply was name a victim. Not to make light of it but to put a reality on it. Victims are quite often faceless and nameless thereby usable.
    The useless gun registry is the Alamo for the Liberal Party.
    Moderate Liberals have got to be liking Mr. Harper a lot more right now.

  50. While the CPC vote has been solid – barely moving Above or below 40% the left-wing vote has swung wildly with the ND as low as 12 in some Polls and north of 25 recently. That indicates among other things a large segment of left-wing voters that is very loosely attached – barely committed to this election. Voter turnout on the left could suffer significantly as a result.
    Also the BQ has been sleep-walking until the last couple of days – their on the ground organization is pititful and their fundraising system is non-existent (the vote grant system may ironically contribute to their destruction).
    The lpc’s organaization/funding issues are almost as bad. The ndp has lots of volunteer potential if they can get them to stop posting on Facebook and put their bongs down. Ndp support is notoriously soft – especially when they threaten to overtake the LPC Avi Lewis’ grampa got stiffed as did broadbent and quite likely Layton is next in line.
    All good to great news for the CPC.
