  1. What else could you expect from a bunch of dimwitted misfits who elect a lunatic hag to be their leader?

  2. The definition of fringe, is the gobbledegook the Greens put out.
And any party that defers to the UN, denying a country’s own national decision making and independence, on ANY topic, will never get my vote

  3. Years ago when we had a responsible media, these loons were the Rhino party etc and just there for comic relief. Now with this current pathetic crop of media losers they identify with other losers so intrinsicly they give them podiums and worship them, fawn over their every word (without splitting a gut) oh no the current media has no sense of humor so they cannot see Lizzy crying out for as audience of laughing hyenas.

  4. Turtle Island
I suspect other Indians have different names. Of course the green perfectionists know better than even Indians. Like they know better than voters.
No way should we go to the Eurotrash system, where nut bunnies like this can actually hold power.
This was one of the worst pieces of PC trash Ive read in a while. Socialist BS mixed with a bowel movement.
    jmo

  5. Reading Elizabeth May’s Bio makes my blood boil. She and her lofty activist friends are part of the reason loggers and other woodworkers lost their jobs in the BC forest industry, completely changing for the worst many small communities here. She cares nothing about working people and their families.

  6. They would also invest $180 million in a ‘solar roof project’ and legalize/tax marijuana. They would also “adopt carbon pricing” to the tune of $33 Billion per year!

  7. http://www.turtleisland.org/
I would like to ask Liz, if citizenship is equal, why is there a hierarchy amongst the peoples of Canada, why are there quotas for certain people within government based on race, color, language?
Tell me, what was apartheid based on again? If one holds the image of apartheid up to the mirror, is it still apartheid? or is it something else?
… and my Canada, doesn’t include the UN.

  8. Hi, I’m Lizzard May from Turtle Island. I want you to vote for me and the Green Communists. But first let’s see your wallet.

  9. Frankly, I love the idea of being 100% equal under the law with the First Nations people. Be a hell of a big step up… for me.
Somebody ask Rin Tin Lizzie about Caledonia. Bet y’all a donut she’s never heard of the place.

  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtle_Island_(North_America)
It’s a modern attempt to rename the continent of North America. The Wikipedia article says that there’s no evidence that pre-Columbian natives ever used this name.
At the very least, if “Turtle Island” is supposed to be a “translation” of native concepts into English, they could lose the “Island” part.

  11. I suppose even the lunatic fringe need a party. With that platform the Greens might want to seriously consider a coalition with the Marxist-Leninist Party.

  12. Any one else notice they said the spirit of the UN resolution, and not the actual resolution?

  13. Hi Chris, nobody thinks equal rights is a bad thing. When “Indigenous” rights trump my rights, then I begin to get a little testy.
    Caledonia, Chris. Look it up.

  14. I guess the only good thing about the watermelon party is that it siphons off potential lieberal votes. The most hilarious section of their platform was the “Make poverty history” item. If watermelon policies were adopted, then the rate of poverty would rise dramatically. Maybe their true goal is to redefine poverty and try to convince people that living without electricity or automobiles and eating grass is somehow superior.

  15. Kate, there are Indian reserves and then there are Indian reserves. They’re not cookie-cutter.

  16. I was born in this land…that makes me a native.
Oh you want to apply a different standard? One based on what…the color of my skin?
    Racist.

  17. “The Wikipedia article says that there’s no evidence that pre-Columbian natives ever used this name.”
Even though that’s blatantly obvious, I can’t help picturing a tribe of pre-Columbian Cree wandering around Northern Manitoba stopping in their tracks struck by an epiphany, “hey how about that.. we’re right in the middle of a big f-ing island..”

  18. I’m more concerned with “social justice” and “equity” than with Turtle Island.
Social justice is a fraud. Justice relates to the actions of individuals, and reaping the rewards or punishments from them as one deserves. “Social justice” means redistribution of wealth or robbing Peter to pay Paul – the very thing that is destroying Western civilization. There is nothing more destructive of a society than the notion that one person has the “right” to the products of the efforts of another person. Saving Western civilization means abolishing all notions of “social justice”. THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT!
Equity means affirmative action or employment equity or such nonsense that insults minorities. While (1) the law should not discriminate, and (2) government officials should not discriminate in the performance of their duties, and (3) government should not hire in a discriminatory manner, private individuals and organizations can do what they please, under the right of freedom of association. Even these rules for government (which I do not claim to be the last word) need plenty of discussion; the law frequently and properly discriminates on the basis of age, for instance. The problem is that opening discussion invites screaming leftists attempting to close it down.

  19. It seems patently obvious that freeks who cling to green and peecee nonsense like this are not capable of doing anything useful.
They … given any opportunity will simply drag others down their own rat hole of corrosive derangement.
Losers are only capable of destroying … even if they like to call it progress and change …. it’s still all about destruction.
    Know your enemy.

  20. wow I stumbled into a real den of small minded hateful people huh!
    ~Turdle Eyelander
It’s really more of a rumpus room and my mind is bigger than yours, nya nya.
I love Canada(Indian name there), Turdle Eyeland and it’s inhabitants I hate, so you got that part right.

  21. Think it’s a good name, actually. We’d certainly be turning turtle if these clowns ever took over…

  22. “Social Justice” is not a cornerstone of democracy, but of communism. Why don’t they just come out and say it?

  23. Turtle island?
That is the name of the private contractor that picks up the garbage here north of the GTA.
How the heck do they rate to have a continent named after them?
If we are going to go that route, my choice would be “Waste Management”.
Somewhat more descriptive of a whole lot of our socity these days, don’t you think?
    Especially government…

  24. “They would also “adopt carbon pricing” to the tune of $33 Billion per year!”
And I say go for it. For that matter, they could fork out 10 times that amount.
Oh wait – they want us to pay it? Not just no, but hell no.

  25. Let me fix the first line of that quotation for you.
“Freedom and self-reliance are the cornerstone of Democracy”
If I may continue … Canadian democracy is more secure when private property rights are respected starting with people who have worked hard to buy their home, farms and businesses. Small efficient government will assure that taxation remains reasonable for the services required and not the corruption and big spending that we see so much of at this time.
People who choose to live in places like Turtle Island can expect no genuine employment and standard of living well below those who choose to live in mainstream Canada and who choose to develop marketable skills and work hard to achieve a decent quality of life.
    Indians and socialists pay attention.

  26. I like their system of thumbs up or thumbs down. Ooops sorry, you’re only allowed to agree with them. Doesn’t that sound typical of socialists.

  27. Chutzpahticular at 2:09 AM. Worked throughout Alberta for 34 years and in many reserves. With one or two exceptions, they are all sh1t holes.
We build them houses, they burn the houses, one stud or floor board at a time. Take a drive through a couple and make sure your vehicle is running perfectly and you have a full tank of petrol.
We friends who are native. They tend to agree.

  28. Here’s some of the Turtle Island, Iroquois Creation Myth:
“Long before the world was created there was an island [a turtle’s back], floating in the sky, upon which the Sky People lived. They lived quietly and happily. No one ever died or was born or experienced sadness . . .
“. . . Determined to help [Sky] [W]oman the [animals] dove into the water to get mud from the bottom of the seas. One after another the animals tried and failed. Finally, Little Toad tried and when he reappeared his mouth was full of mud. The animals took it and spread it on the back of Big Turtle. The mud began to grow and grow and grow until it became the size of North America.
“Then the woman stepped onto the land. She sprinkled dust into the air and created stars. Then she created the moon and sun.
“The Sky Woman gave birth to twin sons. She named one Sapling. He grew to be kind and gentle. She named the other Flint and his heart was as cold as his name. They grew quickly and began filling the earth with their creations . . .
“. . . The Iroquois people hold a great respect for all animals. This is mirrored in their creation myth by the role the animals play. Without the animals’ help the Sky Woman may have sunk to the bottom of the sea and earth may not have been created.”
    http://www.cs.williams.edu/~lindsey/myths/myths_12.html
Nearly all Canadian school kids know this story. Do they know the Creation Story in Genesis? Of course not: that would mean no separation of Church and State, even though there’s no such imperative in Canada. Whatever!
I’ve checked out the Earth Charter: what One World Government, hypocritical garbage! That the Green Party gets my tax dollars to prop up their loony-tune, religiously motivated bunkum really pi**es me off. But, if a coalition forms, some of their ludicrous ideas may well become policy. Bolivia, here we come!

  29. “Contribute to a peaceful solution in Afghanistan. Refocus the Canadian mission in Afghanistan to poverty alleviation and development, strengthening governance and civil society institutions, and supporting the training and development of the Afghan military and police force, particularly in the area of upholding and protecting human rights.” From the Green Party website.
You small minded rednecks seem to have missed the best part of the Green plan for governing Turtle Island, everlasting peace in Afghanistan, and ultimately, in the entire world!
Has anyone here ever seen such a clearly defined plan for solving Afghanistan?
    No,I didn’t think so.

  30. Juxtapose time again!
From the Green Party website (thanks, DMorris): “Contribute to a peaceful solution in Afghanistan. Refocus the Canadian mission in Afghanistan to poverty alleviation and development, strengthening governance and civil society institutions, and SUPPORTING THE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE AFGHAN MILITARY AND POLICE FORCE, particularly in the area of upholding and protecting human rights.” (Emphasis mine)
(Those would be, I guess, the non-existent “human rights” in Afghanistan.)
From The National Review: APRIL 9, 2011
    We’re There to Help
And they’re there to kill us.
    by Andrew C. McCarthy
“Last week in the northern province of Faryab, TWO MORE AMERICAN SOLDIERS WERE MURDERED BY ONE OF THE POLICE OFFICERS THEY ARE IN AFGHANISTAN TO TRAIN. As my friend Diana West calculates, THAT BRINGS TO 17 THE NUMBER OF US TROOPS KILLED IN JUST THE LAST FOUR MONTHS BY THE AFGHAN SECURITY FORCES THEY ARE MENTORING. The total climbs to 22 when the killings of other Western troops are factored in. . . .” (Emphasis mine) Read the rest here:

The Greenies are living in La-La Land. Theirs is definitely the “pat the snake” delusion: be nice to those who want you dead and they’ll thank you and be nice back. What dolts: dangerous ones too.

  31. Why does the Green Party even bother to develop long-winded, warm and fuzzy and unrealistic policy? They will never come close to winning a seat in parliament especially with their embarrassing leader. Just run a slate of candidates, grab your vote subsidy cheque and, while you’re at it, pick up a few votes from the NDP. In the meantime, please stfu and stop making a spectacle of yourselves.

  32. Questions for Elizabeth May:
    1. “Ensure That Citizenship Is Equal”. Will all Canadian citizens be granted Status Indian rights or will Status Indians have to lose those rights to become equal with other Canadian citizens?
    2. “Indigenous Peoples of This Continent”. There are nine other sovereign states on the continent of North America (sorry, Turtle Island). By what authority does the Green Party of Canada propose to interfere in the internal matters of those states (e.g., US or Mexican national policies and programmes directed at their own indigenous peoples.)?

  33. I don’t know why we give so much attention to the Lizzard Lady, as declared by the consortium of media she is a non entity. If you want to cut her off from the public trough elect the only government that will do that. Let’s get on with it.

  34. Chris, that entire link was drivel. All that strengthening CEPA will do is increase the difficulty of fostering economic and industrial development in reserve lands. What little there is now will simply vanish. Do you really want to increase impoverishment through these recommendations?
Typical of you lot. You never think of the consequences of actions.

  35. Where, in the name of Gawd, has Elizabeth May been living?
The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was implemented decades ago! Canada has more than “implemented the spirit” of it and then some — with tacit recognition of Indigenous autonomy.
May and the Green Party are completely redundant, and we are approaching a state of triple-redundancy in this country with three Left wing Parties all yelling about the same old stuff that was implemented decades ago:
1/ Canada has already eliminated systemic racism (not that it actually existed here in the first place as in the U.S. — with the exception of a couple of isolated towns in Nova Scotia many years ago).
2/ Canada has already eliminated systemic classism — upward mobility happens everywhere with everyone. A no-brainer.
3/ Already has no sexism — women got the vote eons ago, can seek political office, work anywhere in the labour force, etc.
4/ Already has no gender/sex persecution — sodomy etc. has been decriminalized for as long as I remember, and I actually don’t recall anytime in history when Canada has had “sex police” breaking down people’s bedroom doors.
5/ Already has religious and freedom of conscience rights — which were never meant to include “shooting abortionists for Jesus”, or “lopping off heads for Allah”.
6/ Has had environmental protections, conservation, and continuous development of technology to reduce pollution and preserve the natural environment for decades before “green” became an irrational Statist religion promoted by the Marxist Left.
And health care, etc., etc.? We can go on and on about all the non-issues whipped up by the Left — because they are terrified and the handwriting is on the wall; the revelance of the Left in the West has been slowly facing its “sunset” since the collapse of the Soviets in the East in 1990. We need to find the Left new employment because socialism is dead…
