Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I didn’t know Wretchard was an Aussie.
Will say it again: Tolerance is the virtue of those who don’t believe in anything. You can only have tolerance where there is indifference! No doubt an excellent read, may get it, though It isn’t likely to be one of Heather’s Picks!
Looks like a good read. Done!
I just love these tales where some oily latin despot gets dusted.
Louise, Wretchard is an Aussie now, but grew up as a barrio rat in Manila?(I think he said one day on the Belmont Club) and pulled himself up by his own bootstraps.
I think Richard Fernandez is an amazing writer and although I don’t read fiction much will be considering getting his book.
Right now I’ve got a backlog of books by Thomas Sowell, Michelle Malkin, and Theodore Dalrymple coming from Amazon in a few days.
Right now on my desk I’ve got- ‘Rules for Radical Conservatives'(David Kahane)-‘Culture of Corruption'(Michelle Malkin)- ‘Liberal Fascism'(Jonah Goldberg) sitting on my desk and already waiting for me to dive into this holiday.
I often read Fernandez in Pajamas Media and I think he is a thoughtful writer. His views are always very interesting, so I will definitely buy this book – even if it is a fiction.
btw I think that more people like Fernandez should write fiction. I read English-language fiction less and less often simply because some of the characters, situations, and thoughts on many subjects are too……..PC. Often too unrealistic. Sometimes simply stupid. Dumbed down.
On a lark, I just bought the Kindle for PC edition- only the third book I’ve paid for since I am wading thru dozens of book in the public domain I loved in childhood.
I do believe in supporting people whose sites you like- and besides, I can use a new book.
Amazon.com…$15.95
Amazon.ca….$60.47
What is happening here.. as a huge fan of the Belmont Club I would love to buy this book, but it looks like I will need to travel south to get it.
I bought the Kindle edition of Wretchard’s book, and it was a very good read! Combined his past history in the Philippine Anti-Marcos underground with his experiences in Australia today. I recommend it to all SDA (and BC) readers.
By the way, the Kindle edition is $8.95 (USD).
