  1. If Sun Media is Fox News North, then Warren Kinsella would be the northern Alan Colmes.

  2. Kinsella is a far left clown. No different than any of the other far left clowns we have in Communist Canada.
    Chow on that Olivia.

  3. Like I have said else where Kate, I believe Quebecor has pissed in its own drinking water by getting rid of Kory Teneycke and indulging Kinsella.
SUN TV will never equal FOX North in Canada with Kinsella aboard, unless of course, You, Kate, become a regular contributor at SUN TV, eh?

  4. She shoots, she SCORES!
There are no conservative papers in Canada. That’s ok, saves me money on subscriptions.
Alan Colmes, although he is an annoying pencil necked socialist wanker, is TWICE the man Warnout Kansmellya is.
I put his name in funny like that because he is a dork and deserves it, and because he has a habit of suing people.

  5. I was looking forward to the new Sun Tv channel. I haven’t heard who any of the on air people they were going to hire are except for Kinsella. I now don’t care if they get a channel or not and I certainly won’t pay for it if they do. Are these people not paying attention to what’s going on?
If they are trying to make themselves look balanced by have opposing views there are many intelligent lefties out there they could have gotten.
If Kinsella is going to start doing articles for the Sun newspapers I’ll stop reading Sun newspapers.

  6. Katsmeat writing for the SUN????
This remind of when I started calling Colin Powell—not just colon but rectum Powell…late summer/autumn of 2008.

  7. Ok, I’m a tad confused by the hypocrisy.
Us folks on the right whine and moan and complain that CBC/CTV etc etc never present the conservative side of the arguement. Now we complain when a network that supposedly will present a right of centre view hires someone with an opposing point of view? I don’t a right wing version of CBC tactics of a discussion panel consisting of someone from the left, someone from the far left and someone from the lunatic left.
Hypocrisy is supposed to be the baileywick of the left.

  8. “Now we complain when a network that supposedly will present a right of centre view hires someone with an opposing point of view?”
Hell yes we complain! You forget Jim, Rush Limbaugh doesn’t pretend to be fair or balanced, he’s going for the jugular and that’s why I and 25 million others tune him in.
All other networks have All Liberals All the Time. One network claims they’re going to present the Conservative view, then they hire a Liberal Party back-room hack?
I’d find the Reverse CBC method refreshing, for a change. One lone loony Liberal getting dissected by three non-Liberals? Watch Dalton McGuinty get interrogated over his windmill crap by some people who know what they’re talking about? Oh yeah, that’s my idea of TV baby. Hell, I might even put up an antenna for that.
What am I going to get instead? Katsmeat.

  9. Stroke of genius!
Not only does it make an end run around the Atwood crowd but by making the liberal court jester a feature it will make the rest of the staff look sage in comparison. Face it, how long can he go before becoming a liberal laughingstock

  10. A legend in his own mind, he was a contender for the title of Clown Prince of the Liberal Party until he threw himself under the ADSCAM bus.
Now, he’s just an over the hill coulda-woulda-shoulda liberal shill who still thinks Jean Cruton was a great Prime Minister and Pierre Turd-oh was a great Canadian.
His dreams are Canada’s nightmares, but he does provide a minor distraction and some amusement.

  11. “Face it, how long can he go before becoming a liberal laughingstock” Shouldn’t that be in the past tense?

  12. Jim there are many very intelligent people on the left that they could have pulled in to discuss matters. Kinsella is a hateful little troll with a bad history. We won’t hear any intelligent debate from him. Lots of people will just tune out. I know I will.

  13. Ratings Ratings Ratings………….. who do you hate….. hire them ,hang as bait, let them spin in the wind ,brillant!

  14. Kinsella….geez…
Similar to CNN bringing on Eliot Spitzer as a commentator…the same whore-monger who forced his wife to stand beside him at the press conference when he gave his mea culpas…the look of humiliation on the poor woman’s face was almost indescribable

  15. Isn’t Kinsella’s writing for the Sun like belling the cat?
    I’m all in favour.
“All the better to know what you’re thinking, my dear. And, my, what a big mouth you have, my dear. And, oh my , what a big-other-part-of-the-anatomy you have, my dear.”

  16. The death knell for the Rossi campaign was sounded when Warren Kinsella came aboard and a few silly gimmicks were employed. Warren Kinsella doesn’t command much respect with ordinary voters and he is losing it with Liberals as well. Most of his stuff is just pure juvenile trash.
So I began to question the Rossi candidacy when he brought Kinsella aboard myself and he lost my vote in that move – there must have been a lot of others who felt the same way because the Rossi numbers went into free fall with Kinsella aboard.

  17. Fire Margolis and Copps restores my faith and I started reading again. Hire Kinsella byebye to reading the Sun.

  18. bruce….
for a look of abject humiliation look at gordoo campbell’s wife when she attended his presser when he apologized for being a drunk driver…
i knew doug collins…have i mentioned before i helped doug destroy warren kinsella’s run for north van as an MP……i knew gordoo campbell when he was a punk kid(well enuff to refuse giving him pot for eg…)…in my life(heh what a joke eh)i was dealt certain cards you see…i did the best i could with them…some were aces…some were deuces…
overall tho i’m fiercely proud of what i did in

  19. Hiring LJ reminds me of those sixties and later trade schools trying to move on up by hiring the only willing dregs from UT to be their admins and recruiters. With lots of gubmit money, useful vocational training schools turning out trades and technicians morphed into crappy colleges stuffed with fourth rate academics.

  20. Kinsella will make a fine punching bag for Ezra and Adler and a few others.
And as others have noted, it makes an end run around the Atwood crowd.
Same as others have said there is nothing wrong with a good and lively debate, which means other liberal commentators should be welcome as well.
There should be a market for actual intelligent political debate in this country, God knows the CBC and CTV don’t provide that.
Kinsella won’t be much more than comic relief, but there are others…

  21. Got through 5 pages of Sun comments, and saw enough (the poor dear):
If it’s any consolation to catmeat, at least, he seems well known:)

  22. OK. Warren Kinsella is one thing, but if they hire Heather Mallick, I will never watch Canadian media ever again, LOL

  23. I mean really. The US has Olbermann and Maureen Dowdy, why not Kansella and Mallicky? …
Excellent for spring boards I say. Ezra would make an easy swan dive off any hair ball either one could possibly hork up. And we all know what they are capable of horking.
Then again, why muddy the waters?

  24. Tokenism at its worst. But then they could have hired jason cherniak.
    Or Martin Lawrence
Or a couple of dozen other worse options…

  25. Yeah, Kinsella is a bit of a clown, always room for a bit of humour in politics and political comment, Warren does supply that.

  26. Perhaps there’s method in their madness with some of their hires from what may be perceived as “the other side”. In true debate, not set-ups, they will have to be sharp and honest or be made mincemeat of.

  27. Will WK be providing grain market commentary for Ontario producers also?
I’ll put my foot through the TV before I watch/listen to any spewage from his mouth.

  28. Sun is ‘hiring’ Katsmeat? They are planning to pay him? A factual channel is what I want – Katsmeat is forever in fairyland. I will turn off any channel that has this spinner of webs of deception on the payroll. Why are Conservative People in this nation, always and forever, courting the progressives with $$ (read Kate’s header at the top of SDA )? Having people like the self aggrandizing Katsment ‘on’ turns thinking people ‘off’.

  29. The Glengarrian @ 8:55 AM, for grain market commentary he could consult Wayne Easter, he’s the HOC resident expert on all farming matters including the Wheat Board. He’s come along way from the Spud Patch of PEI.

  30. Here is the comment I sent to Kinsella’s blog which as usual he didn’t publish because it doesn’t stroke his ego and he isn’t for opinion and free speech and like most Liberals only for himself.
This gig with the Sun Media is just another one that Kinsella will eventually lose as he has almost all other of his jobs. His juvenile antics will do him in and really who thinks of him as an influential media type – even Liberals have thrown him to the wolves and although he espouses Liberal clap trap he doesn’t speak for the Liberal party and they have made that abundantly clear. His latest fiasco was his intrusion into the Rossi campaign where he was supposed to breathe life into it and the reverse happened and Rossi numbers plummeted while Kinsella denied the truth of what was happening to the Rossi campaign. Kinsella never publishes anything on his blog that he is not in agreement with or that doesn’t idolize him and this will be another comment that finds the delete button on his computer in a free press that Kinsella as a liberal is supposed to uphold and believe in. At least as a Sun contributor people will get their comments printed and be able to expose Kinsella for the fraud that he is.

  31. “A Sun Comments Section Goes Horribly Wrong”
Na, just the usual beat of the teabagger brigade

  32. The Sunday Sun column was an introductory one, so it’s only natural that he’d be talking about himself a lot in it. Most of us would do the same. We’ll see what happens in subsequent ones.

  33. Oh, that we will, Mr. nv. Indeed, we’ve seen it before.
The last time Catmeat shared pages with Ezra Levant was in the National Post, and we know how that ended. The Aspers owed the Liberal Party a hell of a lot, and they must have thought the best way to discharge it was to put Chretien’s butt boy on payroll. Good idea in theory.
Just who at the Sun decided to shovel money at the Wifeless Wonder, and why they did it, is an open question right now. Perhaps they needed to replace Eric Margolis on the Sunday crackpot page. Perhaps they just want to see how Ezra takes him on and brings him down. In any event, it’s going to be fun watching Warren lose his last job.
