We don’t need no stinking Mohammed cartoons.

At the urging of the FBI, Molly Norris, the Seattle-based illustrator and cartoonist whose satirical drawing marking “Everybody Draw Mohammad Day” resulted in death threats, global protests and impassioned debate about religion and censorship, has been forced to change her name and abandon her former life as a result of her controversial cartoon.

What we need is an “International Burn Ten Thousand Korans Day”.

  3. Interesting series in the National Post that started yesterday, detailing the Muslim relationship with Christians and Jews.
    Today’s interesting point: under sharia law, Christians and Jews cannot build new churches or synagogues (or repair existing ones) unless permission is granted by the Muslim leaders. But under our law, Muslims can build new mosques anywhere, anytime, regardless of how offensive the particular site is. Can someone tell me why we keep insisting that all religions are equal?

  5. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf holds some rental properties. I am sure that in his endeavor to “build bridges between Muslims, Christians, and Jews and will cultivate understanding between all religions and cultures.”, he would offer her a free apartment and personally guarantee her safety. After all, he is the new face of Islamic religious tolerance. I expect he will denounce any violent threats from his religious brethren against a fellow American exercising her right to free expression.

    An American citizen has to flee her life for exercising her right to free speech, and not a peep from any politician or public person.

For every occasion in which Isamists threaten a Western(ized) person with murder, for every occasion an American (or any other country’s) flag is burned, for every terrorist attack anywhere in the world, hell, even for every occasion someone from the Muslim “community” whines about Islamophobia, let’s burn more Korans, upping the number on each occasion. If nothing else, it will smoke them out into the broad daylight, so we can see who they are – AND STOP FUNDING THEM!!!

    The lefties need to get a grip; but I feel for this woman who made the wrong gesture, because everything she’d been taught about the world was so screwed up. Apparently even being a hippy isn’t enough to earn you a quiet life.
    I guess there is no quiet life. Politics, bedfellows etc.

  12. We have tried to ignore nincompoops with bombs in their undies, we have tried to believe that the undie and head tent crowd were not interested in destroying our way of life. We have been deceiving ourselves! Molly Norris is proof of the intolerance and the fact that our heads have been buried in the msm dirt. The fact that the Bolshevik outfits are marching in lock step with the undie bombers is even more disturbing, IMO.
    Today, Molly Norris is ‘everywoman’.

  14. Let’s not forget death threat against Salman Rushdie, over 20 years ago now, and the Iran hostage crisis, the 31st anniversary of which is coming up soon. It’s only gotten stronger and more pervasive since then. It’s not going away until we confront it and confront hard with whatever means are necessary.

  24. Obama ought to say, in public, that this is unacceptable; that he expects American Muslim leaders to speak out against these threats.
    After all, he’s been constantly promoting Islam, declaring it as having produced great scientific accomplishments (??); as having contributed greatly to America (??). He’s on record in support of the GZMosque; he’s also on record as being against Koran burning. So- why isn’t he on record as being against MUSLIMS threatening American citizens? Hmmm?
    Obama has a soft spot for Islam. Oh, and the DoJ, Hodder, ought to speak out publicly against these threats. Where is he? After all, he himself said that ‘all Americans are cowards’. Well?

  25. Me: I haven’t the time to check this out — just passing it on. It perfectly accords with my long-held and oft-expressed view here that the whole debate about “moderate muslims”, the “peaceful majority” is irrelevant. What’s relevant is THE VANGUARD. The fanatics.

It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.
    The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, ‘the silent majority,’ is cowed and extraneous. Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
    The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.
    And who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’? History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:
    Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.
    Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun. Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts–the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

  26. I wonder if everyone that posts derogatory comments about Islam is on some database somewhere. I am not a computer whiz,is it possible? I doubt that I would be there, because of my acceptance of the wife-beating,gay-bashing,kiddie diddlers. However,the rest of you may have cause to be worried.

  27. I just finished reading a report from a panel of security experts in the United States today. It stated that even self-proclaimed moderate Muslims were a major threat to the U.S and that Islam’s goal was the imposition of Shariah law on the West.
    Any time someone criticizes Islam, they end up like this woman, in hiding or with multiple attempts on their life. Does that not promote the reports conclusion, that there is no moderate Islam?
    They are at the gates of Vienna again, yet this time we haven’t even woken up to the fact that we are at war.

    General Brock sums it up by saying “They are at the gates of Vienna again, yet this time we haven’t even woken up to the fact that we are at war”.
    On a recent visit to Oslo, Norway, I noticed, from a ski jump high above the city, a large pastel green coloured domed building. I asked the guide if it was a mosque and she said yes and it was one of 19 in the city. This is the future I’m afraid.

    Because there are former Muslims now converted to Evangelical Christianity beaming Christian programming in to Muslim countries, there are an estimated 14,000 conversions to Christianity every day!! No need to kill them, they will be converting their family members and neighbours at a faster rate than we can even realize or imagine.
    They are becoming peaceful but rabid in their focus of turning the hearts of this “religion of peace” into meeting the real Prince of Peace. One of the leading promoters and preachers cannot sleep in the same bed 2 nights in a row for fear of the $10,000,000.00 bounty on his head. That man will get a great reward for all his truly peaceful work!!

Maybe he or she is just goofing off while at work (on our dime), but then again, maybe it’s George Stroumboulopoulos doing Dr. Fruitfly’s work in identifying Canadians who should be rounded up and thrown in jail.

  43. an aside…i noticed on Gates of Vienna an item that mentioned the over 50 mosque building applications that are stalled in bureaucratese(gee…wonder why) in Spain….most of which are in Catalonia which was never occupied by the moriscos….the mozzies felt it would be easier to penetrate Barcelona for matters of proselytization i reckon..
    anyway the amusing story was the application 10 years back for a huge mosque in Sevilla…which again never went past granting ‘ownership’ of the land for the prospective mosque…the locals of course are dead set against it and are using every strategem possible…
    and the people..the average Pedros went out to the land being considered and sowed/buried pigs all over the property and made sure the muzzies knew it…
    now THAT is what i call grassroots theatre and creative politics!
    i will be in Espagne next week…i’m going to the grand mosque now again a Cathedral in Cordoba…and will light a candle and offer a prayer for the success of my our and their anti-jihad endeavours…and incidentally beseech our Lord to put a used BMW motorbike(boxer) in our benefactress’ way….as SHE certainly knows the squareheads may be the real beginning of the reaction..

  48. Wallyj @ 10:16, I did entertain that idea. It’s possible they have no idea what people on the right side of the aisle think and/or are interested in and so they’ve decided to lurk a while. I’ve been a very harsh no-holds-barred critic of the CBC on my blog and at the Inside the CBC website. I may have piqued their interest in learning what it is the great unwashed are upset about.

  49. We have to stop immigration from Muslim countries. Quebec should be in the vanguard of this movement as it is much more suspicious of Islamic values and wants to preserve its culture. Unfortunately Quebec wants French-speaking immigrants so it gives lots of points to people from Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon and Egypt who have French as a second or third language.

    Definitely possible, actually I would bet money many of us at SDA are on such a list.
    I’d advise people to not reveal too much personal information since “they” ( whoever “they” are ; the HRC, some Muslim dark group, the CBC, et cetera…) can find out who we are and where we live with our IP address.
