1. Is it appropriate to show in detail the hideous actions of a violent pedophile? Is it appropriate to show in detail the actions of an arsonist? Is it appropriate to show in detail the burning of Korans that will flip the muzzies out and probably get a bunch of innocent people killed?
Your call, they all spawn violence or one form or another.

2. I, for one am disappointed with Fox. I mean they don’t have to fly down Geraldo to cover it live and hype it up. A couple of lines in a newscast of a preacher, a dozen parishioners and 350 news reporters had a book-be-que in Gainsville, Florida. To not report it is as bad as the over-hype of this minimal story. Same disappointment with our PM for jumping on the bandwagon of apologists. Islam gets a +1 for just standing by and watching the western world self-implode.

3. Fortunately, we all possess imaginations (not as active and vivid as those of the left) and we can use them to imagine what the folks look like standing around the bonfire with a pile of books burning.
All we really need to know is that he did it and then we can enjoy an full week of action/adventure from around the globe as Allah’s lunatics burn and kill in outrage. The media will cover that to death and some of them may experience their own deaths in the process.
Muslim imaginations dwarf even those of the American Marxist leftist as we all know … I mean just the 72 Virgin thing is enough to make my point.
Could be some good TV watching at the end of a TV drought during the summer season.

4. But, they are showing images of the terrorists burning Bibles, why the double standard.
Maybe there wont be a public burning of korans tomorrow, but it is coming if we keep telling those terrorists oh, we are so sorry you are upset.

5. This is a lesson in tolerance.
The pastor is not an ‘idiot’ as MSM baptized him, but a very brilliant and bold man. Kudos to him for graphically demonstrating how islam ‘is’ a religion of ‘peace’ and how ‘tolerant’ the muslims are.
Let the muslims eat the same tolerance pill that they are forcing down our throats with the hands of dhimmi politicians.

6. But, they are showing images of the terrorists burning Bibles, why the double standard.
Maybe there wont be a public burning of korans tomorrow, but it is coming if we keep telling those terrorists oh, we are so sorry you are upset.

7. If it was my network, I would be telling the story of the howling barbarian mobs all over the Middle East and the Islamic world and how easy it is to manipulate them into a medieval frenzy.
Then I’d start a weekly contest to see who can come up with the most innovative aggravation that we can use to set off the howling mob and then every week, we can yank their chain and have a good laugh at these savages.
There must be some really innovative ways the $billon dollar porno industry can come up with and the World Wrestling Federation could be especially aggravating.
Wonder how many weeks it would take to exhaust the barbarion hordes?

8. “In a bold move that is likely to be much discussed in coming days, Fox News said today that it will not cover the burning of the Quran on Saturday if Pastor Terry Jones follows through on his plan to burn copies of Islam’s sacred book.”
There is nothing “bold” about becoming a dhimmi.
It is the opposite of bold.
Is it appropriate to show in detail the burning of Korans that will flip the muzzies out and probably get a bunch of innocent people killed?
Your call, they all spawn violence or one form or another.

~Patsplace
I call B.S.
Islam spawns violence.period.
This, this LIE that pushing back against the Koranimals is going to get people killed has to stop.
The Koranimals are killing as many people as they can manage to kill RIGHT NOW no matter what anybody does.
Attaching the Muslim killings that are continuing apace anyhow-anyway to specific “triggers” is nothing more than a ploy to gain submission from us.
I WILL NOT SUBMIT.

9. So it is wrong in the eye’s of the MSM,politicians and leftards to burn your enemie’s battlefield handbook, but OK to kiss their ass and allow Sharia law?
My only fear is what is going to be left for my granddaughters?
I know my son’s-in-law,and I and their grandmother and mothers, will defend them to the death, but we will be gone in 40+/- years.
Then what?

10. How many other accounts of distasteful actions have been carried by the MSM in the name of free speech and free expression?
The pastor THREATENED to burn the Quran.
And, what was the reaction in the Muslim world?
Well, CBC last night showed American flags actually being burned.
OTOH, US courts have decided it’s perfectly OK to burn American flags on the grounds of free expression.
Sooooo ….. double standards, anybody?

11. Too late for “patsplace”,OZ. He/she has all ready bent over and offered their butt’s to the paedophile(piss be upon him).
Has it come to the point where we Westerner’s have to start our own enclaves, and keep the murderous hordes out ourselve’s? If so,count me in.

12. Anyone who joins the American (or any) military after this week is a complete and utter fool.
In this PC war with (not against) Islamic Jihadis Soldiers are fodder and nothing more.
In the end, the war against the Jihad will need to fought by civilians in the streets. That us baby.
Our leaders are dhimmis and they are shit.

13. I won’t say O’Reilly disappointed me last evening because I don’t expect too much.
The idiotic thing is, while he covered the story he wouldn’t put up a clip of the preacher (who he called some choice adjectives) because he didn’t want to give him any publicity.
None of us know Jones well enough to make any meaningful judgment. I still go by what he said in his own video clip:
Britain is lost; Europe is lost. America, now is the time to take a stand.
Yes, the PM’s response was weak, but there was more there for Muslims to hear than those of us who are Christians would hear.
It might not have been intended, but he said it well.
“My God and my Christ is a tolerant God.”
His God is Triune. They deny Jesus is the Christ. Their cry from the minaret says Our God is One.
The PM said his God is a tolerant God.
Their god, Allah, is a totally supreme intolerant god. There can’t be a decent moderate Muslim who can’t see the difference there.
“We all enjoy freedom of religion and that freedom of religion comes from a tolerant spirit.”
They don’t enjoy freedom of religion; ergo, the spirit behind Islam is intolerant.
People are also mocking the title of Jones’ book:
Islam is of the Devil.
Let’s see: intolerant, violent, murderous, with a large dollop of insanity (the 72 virgins gig)
Yep, I’d say he got the title right also.

14. Reality TV proposal: Inciting a riot in various Muslim countries. Contestants will be given a Sharpie and a sketch book. The team that draws the largest protest wins that week’s game. New country selected each week. No awards given posthumously.

15. Mary T: “But, they are showing images of the terrorists burning Bibles, why the double standard.”
CTV last night showed video of Muslims burning the American flag in reaction to Pastor Jone’s threat to burn a Koran on Saturday. Where’s the outrage?
Fred: “If it was my network, I would be telling the story of the howling barbarian mobs all over the Middle East and the Islamic world and how easy it is to manipulate them into a medieval frenzy.”
THAT’S the news story, not one person threatening to burn a Koran. Muslims go on rampages, burning and vandalizing, murdering Christians, etc. because their Holy Book is burned, whereas when atrocities happen to Christians, who would know?
A) Christians don’t murder, pillage, and vandalize when their faith is treated with contempt.
B) The MSM doesn’t generally report Muslim atrocities — politically incorrect, dontcha know?
We’d better smarten up here in the West and stand up for our heritage and culture, otherwise Western Civilization and the democracies it founded will be a thing of the past. We’ll be living under Sharia Law (it already seems as though we are) and our daughters and granddaughters will be in burqas, subject to the will and whims of their husbands. There’ll certainly be no living with one’s significant other without the benefit of marriage, no coming out of the closet if you’re gay.
Where the HELL are the brave and oh-so-progressive feminists? I guess ’cause they’re no longer on the government gravy train, they can’t get involved in political activism. ‘Must get paid, you know, to uphold women’s/aka feminsits’ rights.
Oh, I guess that’s the problem: Muslim women aren’t feminists, there’s nothing in it for North American feminists, defending the rights of Muslim women. No kudos, no perqs or privileges, no gravy train, so no go.

16. Murdoch had no choice but to spike the story as one of his main shareholders, the Saudi prince, would disapprove of Faux’s covering of the Koran-B-Q.
Faux=coward!!!

17. “Via the Hill, deputy managing editor Thomas Kent of the Associated Press in a memo to his staff: “Should the event happen on Saturday, the AP will not distribute images or audio that specifically show Qurans being burned, and will not provide detailed text descriptions of the burning. With the exception of these specific images and descriptions, we expect to cover the Gainesville event, in all media,”
So the AP “will cover the event” they just won’t show any pictures, or describe pictures that might get them a personal fatwa.
Just like the Muhamad cartoons.
They are cowards and their coverage or lack of it is dictated by their pissy pants cowardice fear and not their nobility.

18. “Oh, I guess that’s the problem: Muslim women aren’t feminists, there’s nothing in it for North American feminists, defending the rights of Muslim women. No kudos, no perqs or privileges, no gravy train, so no go.”
batb nails it….make no mistake…another woman(or more) will be “honour” killed in Sudan,Yeman,Saudia, etc. in the time it takes me to type this, yet our gutless, elite, western feminists will not raise one botox treated eyebrow to help them. Why not? As batb basically said, follow the money.
(grrrrrr….blood pressure going up again!!)

19. It used to be said that the word was mightier that the sword.
Seems, the mass media have corrupted the expression to please totalitarian mind.
They will still use the power if it suits their puposes against those who take freedom of thought and speach as being an essence of human existence.

20. Been travelling to visit family and friends this summer – Oz and Abe and batb made me feel like I’m home again. Right on, guys.

21. The problem is all news agencies, whether Fox, CNN, CBC, whatever, filter what they think the public should be exposed to in order to ensure their political objectives are met. This is what is so offensive and why the blogshere is taking over the delivery of news.
I can find the news I want to be informed about without Fox, CBC, and the rest. So when Fox says they are going to cover tea parties when the others originally wouldn’t, they do so as if they are doing us a favour. Ah, no they aren’t.
I will find out about the tea parties, islamic violence, and koran burning without them. I don’t watch any of them which includes Beck and Oreilly. And I will not watch NFL on NBC if Oberman is one of the broadcasters. He makes me literally sick.

22. Just sayin’

Immanuel Kant was a real piss-ant who was very rarely stable.
Heideggar, Heideggar was a boozy beggar who could think you under the table.
David Hume could out-consume Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel.
And Whittgenstein was a beery swine who was just as sloshed as Schlegel.
There’s nothing Nieizsche couldn’t teach ‘ya ’bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.
John Stewart Mill, of his own free will, after half a pint of shanty was particularly ill.
Plato, they say, could stick it away, half a crate of whiskey every day!
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
And Hobbes was fond of his Dram.
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart:
“I drink, therefore I am.”
Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed;
A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he’s pissed.

Gotta love the Ozzies, God bless those criminal bastards.

23. Michael H. Anderson, welcome back — and welcome to our world!
Now, we’ve got to roll up our sleeves ’cause our world needs some fixin’!

24. As Kate noted this non-reporting tactic is nothing new for most of the MSM.
Has anybody else tried searching the CBC or CTV websites for reports on Castro’s statement that communism doesn’t work?
Not a word to be found. Then again I suppose Fidel Castro admitting the Revolution was a failure is hardly newsworthy.
Syncro

25. They will still use the power if it suits their puposes against those who take freedom of thought and speach as being an essence of human existence.
~Lev
Exactly.
The MSM and the Surrender Monkeys who come here and try to convince us that our behaviour is the “trigger” that forces the Muslims to commit violence are practicing “Tall Poppy Syndrome”.
They say we deserve to have our heads cut off simply because we have grown taller than the average poppy.
Collectivists all, it matters not to them that their collective is being made into sheep for the slaughter, it only matters that we all act collectively.
NewsFlash!
Our entire way of life is an affront to Muslims.
Just living the lives we have chosen, in liberty, to live is a perpetual “trigger” for them to commit violence.

26. Thanx batb! BTW, used Koran as bumwipe during recent Cultus Lake camping trip.
Just kiddin’!
Maybe.

27. Well that explains why they never report stories about Christians being burned alive, along with their bibles, in Churches in Muslim lands. Can’t be offending the barbarians, I mean Moderate Muslims.

28. “Has anybody else tried searching the CBC or CTV websites for reports on Castro’s statement that communism doesn’t work?”
Have been trying for ~2 days(HEY,I’m retired,I can do that…:)
Point being as Syncrhro says…not ONE word,or even a hint….leftards hate seeing the once revered leader admitting maybe he screwed up?Or these elitist bastards don’t want to lose their gravy train?
Or perhaps telling the people that “we” are going to take over 50% of your money,to pay us non-producers,wouldn’t go over to well? And as a side bonus,we eat,you starve?

29. Has anyone ventured to Aljazeera to check out their coverage?
I was sent an AJ link about the NY ‘cultural centre’…

30. If they hadn’t covered it when the pastor first announced it I could understand it – it’s just a publicity stunt. But when several world leaders have commented on it and it’s gone “viral” throughout the world? That’s news! It should be reported.
If the left wants us to stop calling them unpatriotic, then why didn’t they stop the reporting of Abu Ghraib or Gitmo? Many of the accusations (particularly at Gitmo) were completely false. I’m just dumbfounded at how blatant the double-standard is. Couldn’t they have at least made it a little less obvious?

31.
Is it appropriate to show in detail the hideous actions of a violent pedophile? Is it appropriate to show in detail the actions of an arsonist? Is it appropriate to show in detail the burning of Korans that will flip the muzzies out and probably get a bunch of innocent people killed?
Your call, they all spawn violence or one form or another
patsplace
What level of violence meets your turd filter…………..are you not aware of the reality that the MSM void will be filled…
IMHO You may be right for all the wrong reasons… we don’t need to kill muslims to prove we are superior…but we will…
If you want to cater a trucker’s picnic, don’t show up with half a sandwich…..

32. There’s already enough burning Korans, for instance, on Youtube. And Bibles. And the Torah. And pretty much anything else.
So what?
Some yahoo burning a Bible and saying it’s ‘evil’ won’t affect my faith – Can I disagree with the person doing it – sure! Can I make the point I believe it’s a desecration? Yup. Am I going to threaten to behead someone over it?
Say what now? /boggle

33. Couldn’t they have at least made it a little less obvious?
~Bacardi Breezer
To the people who use the MSM as their primary/only source of information nothing is obvious.
If these people weren’t given their opinions by the MSM they wouldn’t have any opinion of their own.
The MSM has told them ignorance is a virtue and so they believe ignorance is a virtue.
To us, it’s blatantly obvious.
We don’t matter to the MSM…..yet.
When we do matter to them, it’ll be too late to matter for them.
They’ll be gone.

34. Depends on how you define news. The story is known, why prolong it?
There are many other things to be covered – like how about the abuse, torture, rape, and killings of domestic workers in different countries?
That’s a way more important issue to me.
This guy’s had his five minutes – it’s not news anymore.

35. This guy’s had his five minutes – it’s not news anymore.
~Erik Larsen
If it stops being news, it won’t stop being news until after we’re done analyzing our politicians and the MSM’s joint commentary on the 9th Anniversary of the September 11 attack.
Never Forget, Never Forgive.
The threat remains the same as it did on 9/11.
Too bad there are still so many 9/10 thinkers.
ROPMA

36. Oz,
it looks like the statment “…peace in our time…’ – Chamberlain is still working for the lotus eaters.

37. FOX I woul;d like you to be indroduced to your new bedfellows. CNN, MSMBC, CBC, ABC, BBC, CBC, NBC.
The Islamic news networks. We do the stories only we like. You can trust us to cover up any Muslim mayhem or be apologists for bold faced liars , with their cohorts of murders in shadow.
These groups have brazenly proven they are bought & paid for. A News group that will make arbitrary decisions for its viewer ship has forfeited any right to our patronage, trust, time, or even respect. Let alone whats really going on.
These are pimps of ideology, not Journalists.
JMO
JMO

38. Oz, what’s getting lost is that the focus of the story is all wrong. Lev, you don’t understand my point either.
Take the example of the “Piss Christ” by Andres Serrano. Was there rioting all over the Western World about this? No.
Why is there rioting in the Muslim world about a guy with 50 people in his church wanting to burn a Koran? (When clearly, most Americans think it’s pretty tasteless.)
Is the Muslim world that special that it deserves extra protection? Are Muslims that weak and childlike that they deserve the extra protection? Is the west afraid, and that’s why this is being discouraged?
The press needs to start thinking big picture.
Just focusing on minutiae ignores the larger picture.

39. piss be upon Justthinkin as well. Like I said, it’s your call. Personally I subscribe to the “kill ’em all, let God sort ’em out” train of thought.
My point is that detailed coverage of this WILL CAUSE DEATH. It won’t create the rational for the Alahnimals to kill, but it will hasten the deaths for some.
That having been said, backing down with Alahnimals is never an option.

40. Larsen,
actually I had nothing to say to your comment, my comment was in reply to Oz at September 10, 2010 1:30 PM

41. I think the situation calls for a new hymn for the liberal churches to sing to the tune of what a friend we have:
We must never burn a Koran,
nor insult a crazy Mo,
Nor offend a zealous imam,
it’s not nice for them you know;
Are we going to have sharia?
Hopefully it comes apace,
So that lovely Muslim ladies
will not have to show their face.
