How could this be happening? The people in a country with one of the lowest tax rates in the world, who have been driving the country deeper and deeper into debt with an increasingly negative balance of trade since 1978, and who have chased their tax base of manufacturing out of the country with their insatiable appetite for cheap imported goods, are now complaining even louder that their taxes will be increased to pay off that debt. That’s unbelievably tragic.
Maybe if they got a leader who rode an elephant instead of a donkey then the debt would disappear and they wouldn’t have to pay any increased taxes.

It seems many of you ignore the intricacies of US-Mexico relations…like the fact that the US has influenced Mexico in such a way as to keep it entirely dependent on the US, maintaining it as a source of cheap labor, and using this cheap labor as a weapon against it’s own working class.

Mexico is offloading its most impoverished class (many of whom are indigeneous) on to the US taxpayer. Rather than Mexico building an economic and social infrastructure for its lowest class, which would include schools, housing and housing services (hydro, water), roads, public transportation, hospitals – and incentives for industrial development..in these areas, Mexico chooses to do nothing. It fobs off this class to the US.
These people flee to the US to work for minimum wage BUT this wage does not require them or their employers to pay income, state, municipal taxes. These workers then send billions, yes, billions, back to support their extended impoverished families in Mexico! The Mexican taxpayer doesn’t have to support them!
And in the US, these people make use of the schools, hospitals and services – without paying a penny for them! The US taxpayer does it all.
Now – how’s that for economic slickness? One nation refuses to establish an economic and societal infrastructure for its most impoverished class, fobs them off on to the neighbouring nation, screams ‘racism’ if the neighbouring state objects…and saves itself billions annually by this tactic.

The myth that ‘it’s cheap labour’ is just that – a myth, and part of the other tactic used to make Americans feel guilty about confronting the situation. It costs, for example, California about 10.5 billion – that’s billion – to house, provide health care and education – for these people. The children take up 15% of the school system. Remember, they pay nothing for these services.
The estimated cost for all of the US is at least 113 billion. The real costs are their use of education services, health care, incarceration, and regular state services (roads, water etc). The amount recovered in sales etc taxes is minimal. Very few pay income taxes and if they do, it’s all refunded as their reported incomes (note that: reported incomes) are easily below the minimum wage scale.
Note that Mexico is offloading its uneducated and unskilled class to the US to support. It frees itself from the fiscal costs of this class.
An interesting point is that IF the illegals were given legal status – the costs to the US would INCREASE because their unskilled and uneducated status would mean that their incomes would remain below the tax-generating level..and they would be free to access more govt services! They would actually cost even more to the US taxpayer!
The cheap labour myth is just that – a myth. That’s because it may seem cheap to hire the illegal at 5.00 an hour. But, he pays no taxes and heh, rarely pays car insurance, home insurance etc. At that income, his children qualify for free breakfasts and lunches at school. He gets free medical care, even, via his children born here, subsidized housing, food stamps, etc.
Now, if we pay – and this is an unproven assumption – less at the food market for the strawberries picked by the illegal – then we pay more in our taxes to subsidize that same illegal. We pay more in gas taxes to carry that produce, more in insurance, more in energy costs.
So the ‘cheap labour’ myth has to be one of the dumbest and tunnel-visioned excuses around.
Who benefits from this illegal scam? Mexico. It doesn’t have to provide a thing for its lowest class. Doesn’t have to educate, house, employ them. Heh..the hapless taxpayers of the north do that for Mexico. What a scam. That person, to Obama, is an immigrant. Incredible. He has thereby totally rejected his sworn duty to the Constitution and to the American people. Why not dispense with passports completely since for Obama there is no such thing as a border or a sovereign state anymore.
Oh – and the money sent back to Mexico by these illegals, to support their impoverished relatives (since the Mexican govt won’t assist them)..either tops the prime Mexican source of external revenue (oil sales) or comes second, depending on the year.
Think about that. A major source of Mexican wealth, required to support its unskilled, non-working lowest class, comes not from the Mexican taxpayer. But from the US taxpayer. That’s via the illegals of Mexico who work in the US and send their income home (known as ‘remittances’).
These remittances have done the work that Mexico refuses to do: support its unskilled and impoverished and enable them to be consumers..in the Mexican economy.
This massive transfer of wealth from the US taxpayer to Mexico relieves Mexico of the burden of educating and employing its unskilled. It also deprives the US unskilled – and they do exist – of employment, moving them to permanent welfare and thus, further increasing US costs.
Again, the issue is twofold. The legality of a sovereign state to control its borders and its immigration. And, the fiscal responsibility of a state to control its costs by treating all workers fairly – i.e., all pay their share of communal costs (schools, hospitals, poverty assistance etc).
Nobody knows why but epidemic of bright people thinking(?) and acting like goddamned fools is astonishing.
Its interesting that the “progressives” are propagandizing for the chaotic status quo where the rule of law doesn’t exist when it comes to illegal immigration. Positive racial profiling akin to affirmative action (for political reasons)is driving the left but much of the problem goes back to Reagan who granted amnesty for 2 million illegals while failing to control the border after doing so. Milton Friedman correctly stated that the welfare state plus uncontrolled immigration equals bankruptcy. Until the welfare state can be extinguished, where the market for labour and the private sector control immigration through property rights, a sovereign state must control its immigration policies. That the US government has the hubris to try selling the insanity that it can control climate but that it can’t control the border with Mexico is an example of snake oil at its worst. As an American resident in an area with no shortage of Mexicans (legal and otherwise), I much prefer their residency to say Islamic colonizers but immigration decisions should ultimately be up to domestic citizens not the electoral needs of the US Federal or Mexican governing parties.

Sales taxes alone would never cover the costs of social services – unless they drove up the price of goods and services beyond the capacity of the middle class. Now, if you don’t believe Mexico (you pick the context) has a vested interest in using the USA as a relief valve for its surplus underclass, you’ve apparently missed out on what border areas have contended with for decades, and the fact that the Mexican president actually appeared before the US Congress to lecture one of its states for trying to tighten that very valve. How often do you hear one country castigate another, while being hosted on an official state visit to that country no less, for not being more welcoming of the former country’s citizens who entered the latter country illegally? Such a breach of diplomatic decorum tends to point positively to just how serious the matter is to the Mexican government. Mexican expatriates also send billions of dollars back to Mexico in wire transfers every year. It’s a big “industry” for Mexico. In a criminal investigation they might even call something like that “motive”.
