One of the comments at the CBC site was regarding the CBC being in full panic mode. I hope so. I hope they start to lash out at how Canada’s moral fabric will be torn by a right wing Tv channel that doesn’t know when to follow the leftist CBC or left of center CTV line.

Louise, Fox News North will encourage Canadians to demand the CBC be privatized. It has never been allowed, to question the cbc. Unless you count that time they paid themselves, and did the two day survey on themselves, to tell us they were not bias towards the left. Questions will be asked as to why we are funding the cbc for the 700 or so Canadians that are left watching it after Fox News North hits the air. CBC has never had to compete in the real world. I think it is about time they were made to put on their big girl panties.

I pay for Fox News and glad to do it. We all pay for the CBC and I never watch it except for hockey and that has more and more been co-opted by other channels. However, when hockey is on we do watch it on the CBC. Hardly worth a billion a year. And doesn’t Don Newman have his S**t in a knot! They are scared skinny. Bring it on. I would love nothing better than a Fox News North. I would even pay to have it on cable extra. Gladly. They can take CNN, CBC, NBC, ABC and quite frankly, CTV and take a hike!

That old coot Craig Oliver was most indignant that such a network would be espousing right-leaning ideology while all the rest of Canada’s media would be forced to present a balanced point of view. And as far as I can tell, the demented old fart was bloody serious!
