United States Of Obamica: Not Broke Enough!

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
June 9th, 2010US debt to hit 19.6 trillion by 2015.
June 10th, 2010Obama said the conditions in Gaza were “unsustainable” and promised 400 million U.S. dollars to aid the Gaza Strip
Related – Obama job approval at all time low. And most of them haven’t even heard about the $400m donation to Hamas.

  1. “As is amply evident in the fact that Israel can use US AID in any manner it likes -”
I have no qualms about how Israel spends said money. They’re allies and on the frontline of what appear to be the battle for our civilization. Do you get that? You and other westerners might deny that we are in the mist of a Clash of Societies or a war, but our so called “enemies” for lack of a better term ARE at war with us. I’m not sure if you’re a fan of South Park, but burying our heads in the sand is foolish, as Matt and Trey have pointed out.
“I see. And the North Koreans are accountable for Kim Jong Il”
    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Regardless of the circumstance and history, in the end it IS the responsibility of the citizens of N.Korea (or Haiti for that matter) to spend the “precious life blood” as John McCain calls it. Whether or not N.Korean’s can expect support from the west(which I would like to think we would offer) in the end, it’s there responsibility.
Regarding Hamas: that is a recent election, and the Pali’s are and were well aware of how their government would be perceived and behave. What I find interesting is your low expectations for the N.Koreans and the Pali’s. I’m not calling you a liberal, but I’ve seen a definite trait among liberals that I find patronizing and bigoted. More times than not, it’s do-gooder white liberals that feel it’s their responsibility to help the less capable brown, yellow, red people because they are incapable of helping themselves. Furthermore, I believe that it is this patronizing do-gooder bigoted attitude that in part enables these struggling societies/cultures to tread water instead of getting their isht together. Tell me, what the hell would the people in (take your pick) country or continent do if there wasn’t an Anglophone Christian western society to offer Aid to every other group? Who’d feed the Africans? Who’d defend Muslim women? Who’d protect the S.Koreans? Who’d send aid to Gaza? Who’d send aid to Haiti? Who’d feed and cloth First Nations people?
So yes, I hold them accountable. And until the men of these countries grow the courage and convictions to do something for someone other than themselves, and that means dieing for the righteous cause of liberty for their families and country men. Quite frankly, I think it’s beyond selfish that people like the N.Koreans allow their families and country men to be subjected to this type of tyranny just to save their own hides. Pathetic.
“I somehow doubt that US Aid to Palestine is handed over to Hamas.”
Yeah, and American food stamps are always spent on food. Right? In case you weren’t watching the coverage in Haiti earlier this year, food and medicine that was being distributed by NGO’s to the piples were shortly after confiscated by gangs, militia, government officials and any other type of creep you can imagine. I somehow doubt that this very same thing doesn’t happen in Gaza. Actually, I know it does. Do some research.
“But please, don’t let that distract you from your belief in, and support for, collective punishment.”
Dude, you’re projecting. My argument from the beginning has been that a) sending 400b to Gaza at this time is unwise; and b) that aid to Israel and Gaza are not analogous. America doesn’t owe the Pali’s anything; therefore, I’m not advocating the punishment of anyone. That said, the collective punishment of Japanese people in Nagasaki and Hiroshima was quite effective, and motivated (to put it politely) the Japanese to join civilization.
And please, don’t accuse me of racism before you research Japan pre-WW2; else I’ll know you’re a liberal for sure. I couldn’t care if the Japs were white green or yellow, I’m simply forming my opinion on merit.
Finally, I respect your opinion and argument today. What I don’t respect is your haughty belief that everyone here who disagrees with you is simply parroting previous views. This aspect of your comments are unnecessary, unsubstantiated and they add nothing to the conversation except make you seem like an a$$.

  2. Just Sayin, Not Thinkin said: “I somehow doubt that US Aid to Palestine is handed over to Hamas ….. You’re missing key facts about this whole thing.”
Yeah, and I doubt that Hamas uses Red Cross/Red Crescent ambulances to move gun totin’ killers from location to location.
“But please, don’t let that distract you from your belief in, and support for, collective punishment.”
Kind of like those Hamas people who threw their Fatah opponents – Gaza citizens and fellow Muslimes off of multi-story rooftops?
Yep, they’re a great duly elected government and are owed our full support and aid – just saying, of course.

  3. Speaking of foreign aid, are we still giving aid to China? According to an article here:
    http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/1345
Canada has given out nearly a billion to China since 1983 and this article is two years old.
What would happen if countries saved the money spent on foreign aid and took care of their own debts and people?

  4. “As is amply evident in the fact that Israel can use US AID in any manner it likes – including for the purchase of weapons. US aid to Palestine, on the other hand, comes in the form of goods, not hard cash.”
It is U.S. law that all foreign aid must be in American purchased goods—not hard currency.
That said most U.S. aid to Israel is of a military type and that which is not military is generally technological.
Despite the Palistinian propaganda, the Palistians are never attacked unless they provoke Israel.
Israel, on the other hand, has a history of being regularly attacked by Palistinian organizations and the surrounding Arab nations.
Israel therefore needs the foreign aid it gets from the U.S. in military aid.
If the Arabs would leave Israel in peace, Israel wouldn’t need any U.S. foreign aid at all and the Arabs would be reaping a peace dividend with a higher standard of living as well.
“Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”
    ~Golda Meir

Thats military aide, & you know it. For American bases in the area. As well as up keep on bought American military equipment.
America is rightly covering its ass, since the Muslims don’t own Israel yet, nor ever.
People like you forget how indispensable a bridgehead is on a piece of land joined to 3 Continents.Let alone a place to have R & R in security If America wants her bases she pays. This is not charity but indispensability if it is to strike anywhere needed in Europe, Africa or Asia.
Now that Obama doesn’t find Israel “Kosher”? You can bet he will side with the Islamists as he has at home.
He thinks this coalition will destroy the Jooo’s with him ending up the friend of the Muslim to continue there as usual.
He’s in for a big surprise. If not impeachment after November.
