Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic ‘spiritual principles’ in order to protect the environment.
In an hour-long speech, the heir to the throne argued that man’s destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions – but particularly those of Islam.
He said the current ‘division’ between man and nature had been caused not just by industrialisation, but also by our attitude to the environment – which goes against the grain of ‘sacred traditions’.

Long live the Queen, indeed. And may the succession skip a generation and pass to her grandson William.
Abolishing the monarchy would be a terrible loss of a living historical link to centuries of constitutional development, not to mention a blight on all our brave soldiers who died for King/Queen and Country. Does anyone here relish the idea of electing a head of state, who would quickly become yet another government official trying to control our lives ‘for our own good’? Andrew Coyne had a brilliant (IMHO) idea for making Canada independent: offer the monarchy of Canada to Prince Harry, provided that he agrees to become a permanent resident. No revolution or constitutional changes required!
So denying women and children the freedom to leave their homes under Sharia Law is deemed a green policy, yea I suppose so considering the mortality rate in Islamic countries hasn’t improved much in the past 1400 years. Yep under Sharia Law, spit, a females carbon foot print is nonexistant another name of enslavement and Sharia imprisonment. What about all those suicide bombers Charles? How much damage did 911 do to Mother Earth Charlie?
I have been reading the comments following the article. The Brits are funny in an odd sort of way. One suggests that Charles is correct. For example, Islam is so environmentally friendly that they use only recyclable rocks to stone their women.
Texas Canuck at 11:13 AM: “No wonder mom isn’t leaving the throne any time soon.”
=============
Remember how long the Queen Mom lasted? Let’s hope the longevity gene is only passed on through the female line.
Well, after Charles the First, then Charles the Second, I guess its time for Charles the Turd.
Come to think of it, Chuckie’s grandfather croaked at a fairly young age, didn’t he. There’s hope.

ROTFLMAO!!!
Let’s hope there’s a major blizzard blowing across London on the day of his coronation.
DF at 3:29 PM, I too favour skipping a generation and putting a wee jog in the line. Long live King Harry!! There’s a man with balls who speaks like a commoner. William is a wuss.
The problem with abolishing the Monarchy is that without it Britain would be even more sad and grey and soul-crushingly boring than it is now. Anyway, I don’t think anyone takes Charles seriously.
(Islam might be “environmentally friendly” in the sense that Islamic countries don’t actually, you know, do anything or make anything, aside from tapping oil. Correct me if I’m wrong. And remember, in Saudi, half the population can’t even drive, which is obviously wonderful.)
Come on Paul Ya gotta love Charlie! He’s the poster boy for inbred twits. Right now he’s following the pattern set by his inbred ancestors and mistaking his vacant philanthropic gibbering for noblesse oblige – when in fact it’s just the onset of genetic premature senility.

That Nazi chearleader would be his great uncle, the Duke of Windsor, who was the brother of King George VI, Charles’ grandfather.
The Republic of Canada Act
An act that would,
1. Draft a new Constitution to enshrine the citizen as sovereign, and the Government of Canada as subservient and directly answerable to the people.
2. Abolish permanently the Queen and her role, Royal Prerogative and Inherent Powers and the role of Governor General, and replace the position with a President of Canada.
3. The President becomes the Commander in Chief of the Canadian Armed Forces.
4. The President becomes Chief Executive of the Government of Canada.
5. Prime Minister becomes the Chairman of the House who is selected by House members.
6. Chairman of the Senate is selected by Senators.
7. All bills originating in Parliament require the Presidents signature.
8. The President has line-item veto power.
9. The role of Prime Minister and his Cabinet would now be absorbed by the Presidents office.
10. Senators stand for election.
11. Judges stand for election.
12. Premiers stand for election.
13. Lieutenant Governors can go and live at Buckingham Palace.
Just read a Saudi man got 6 months and 90 lashes for kissing a woman at a mall. If Chuckie had carried on with Camilla in Saudi Arabia, we wouldn’t have to listen to him now. The elite never think before speaking.

Yep!
Well, after Charles the First, then Charles the Second, I guess its time for Charles the Turd.

lol lol lol
Better than Pigsty John, not by much though?
Charles fits the famous rhyme. Of kings & cabbages!
This idiot is also about protecting architecture, and bemoaning modern buildings. Did he miss what the muzzies did to the Buddhist Statues of Bayman? good crowd to align with, how is that fit with your views on life?
Blathering like that is why prince charlie will never be Kling….or his baby doll moll wife””
I found this terribly disturbing…to the point of considering abandoning the monarchy after centuries of tradition.
A wise son maketh a proud father,,,a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. I profoundly sympathize with her magesty the Queen.
However DF made an excellant suggestion avoiding endless, difficult constitutional negotiations.(Horrors) Simple! GOD SAVE KING HARRY! DONE!
There will no need for a Governor General with a resident KING!
Just think of the tourist revenue from Yanks coming North just to wave a him. Our government would have an experienced advisor on things military.
Marry Harry off to a cute pure laine gal and Quebec will be thrilled.
T would be p!ssed!
Can’t see any downside.
If Charles is against materialism, then he’s a hypocrite of the first order because he’s fairly wealthy, I understand.
If he’s against industrialism, then what is he in favour of, the feudal system? Because industrialism is what enabled the western world to ditch that, and the middle class to arise. He would do well to encourage his Muslim listeners to emulate the west, and to jettison some of their own rather backward traditions.
Of course, lefties hate the middle class because it is comprised mostly of people who are self-confident and productive, unlike themselves.
“In an hour-long speech, the heir to the throne argued that man’s destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions – but particularly those of Islam.”
Ah yes. As practiced by Saddam Hussein in the oil-fields of Kuwait….
Prince Unworthy is the best argument for a republic I can imagine.
When the Queen goes, so too must the monarchy.
Chuck is a half-witted, ignorant a$$hole. Not for all the tea in china will I pledge allegiance to that worthless wanker.
The feudal elites of europe are still upset over the loss of their absolute privilege and have been working on restoring it ever since. Not for nothing was the pusher of the european union an arch-duke (Dr. Otto von Hapsburg. Yes, those Hapsburgs.)
Chuckie Pooh’s grand daddy died at an early age. Chuckie Pooh’s great uncle abdicated.
King Chuckie the First was beheaded.
There’s many possibilities.
That old creep Lord Mountbatten had too much influence over Chuck’s early life. He is unfit for any public office, IMO.
