Gary Indiana (about 25k south east of Chicago) had a wind/rain storm 11.August 2026 and the power is expected to be on again, “maybe today”

Gary Indiana is 79% black and I don’t know how relevant that is, it seems to me the infrastructure shouldn’t care what color you are but the somehow the cables don’t self repair and do actually require humans to figure it out.

The Gary news updates have been amended as credible reports of shots fired at NIPSCO repair crews in Gary become more widely reported. Race hustlers did omit this information since its reasonable for utility repair crews (some from out-of-state) to cease their repair efforts if bullets are flying..
Not the first time this has happened. Hurricane Elvis, in 2003, caused power outages across the city. The area around Jackson and Tillman was out for a week.
What happens is that tree trimming and line maintenance are areas that can have the budgets cut easily until the next big storm comes along. Somewhere there is a manager at MLGW that was promoted for budget control that found out what happens when you cut those budgets.
Firsthand knowledge: the tangled maze of freeways with multiple on-ramps and off-ramps with severely inadequate queuing space that flies over Memphis is the single worst urban freeway I have ever had the displeasure to drive.
I’m guessing what kind of people designed that horror show.
