The news agency reacted to questions raised by an American blogger who showed that Reuters’ photo service edited out knives and blood traces from pictures taken aboard the activist ship Mavi Marmara during a clash with Israeli commandos last week. Nine people were killed and scores were injured in the clash.
The pictures of the fight were released by IHH, the Turkish-based group that sponsored the six-ship fleet that tried to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza.
In one photo, an Israeli commando is shown lying on the deck of the ship, surrounded by activists. The uncut photo released by IHH shows the hand of an unidentified activist holding a knife. But in the Reuters photo, the hand is visible but the knife has been edited out.
Absolutely stunning that the *Jew-controlled media” would do such a thing.

If Reuters were in possession of a photo of a bloodied Palestinian on the floor, and a Jew holding a knife above him, I’m sure they would have cropped the knife out out of that photo too.

The liberal doctoring of the “news” has been going on for decades. You don’t have to go to a deli to get baloney, just tune into a Reuters or AP.
It’s a pity that you can’t cancel your delivery with Reuters as I did with the Globe and Mail following their censorship of the AGW story. I also received a phone call at the weekend wanting me to restart delivery of Jeffrey Simpson’s ideas. I said you haven’t been in the penalty box long enough as I told the young lady why I had stopped.
Since they can’t deny the evidence, they have to tailor their story/lie to suit the facts. The knife in the photo is too obvious for Reuters to dismiss it as just where their photo is sized, especially considering that the issue of force — and which side did what — is so pertinent to the political discource on this issue. As well, the original photo is as is, so why the omission of the knife in the Reuter’s photo? It’s the same photo from the same photographer and not shot from a different angle.
Thank god for blogs and citizen journalism. MSM continues to lose control of the message, and exposed for the many distortions of the truth they are caght engaging in.

I saw this story in a blog two days ago and already sent an email to Reuters denouncing them for their deceitful and distorted coverage of an event. It is sad that now you can’t even trust the pictures that you are seeing. This agency was supposed to adhere to real unbiased journalism, and like the rest of the mainstream media are now commentators trying to shape opinion instead of reporting the facts. Journalism is dead.
When I was in basic training (Cornwallis 1963) one of the instructors commented “don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.”
In this world of constant change its nice to see somethings stay the same.

RACISM!!!! Everybody knows Israeli commandos are the bad guys, Reuters photos are fake-but-accurate.
Or so a lot of people in the MSM and the entire UN would have us believe.
The problem is that people got to Reuters to get the news, end of story.
People that actually want to know go to the blogs and other sources for more.
The rest will go with what the news manufacturers’ publish. One suspects that the rest will never know the whole story. That is what the propaganda counts on.
One more thing,
When you talk about these things to people you know, they think that you are of the deep end, some kind of right wing wacko, all the while there is no wing, just knowledge.
Be it Reuters, AP, Canadian Press (CP), CBC or Globemedia for that matter, shaping the story is what they all do.
And while the Reuters photoshopped story is currently the topic of discussion here on the internet, Globemedia right here at home gets a pass for its blatant news shaping agenda.
I am specifically referring here to Tom Clark on CTV’s “Power Play”.
Ottawa Rumours persist that Clark is in an off air personal relationship with Liberal MP Martha Hall Findlay (Tom’s frequent quest on air) which would by most reasonable people’s view put Clark in a direct conflict of interest as a Liberal party sympathizer rather than an unbiased MSM political commentator.
Clark must come clean on that issue or else GlobeMedia in all its news disseminating configurations including the Globe & Mail are just as suspect of news shaping as is Reuters in its photoshopping the bloody knife story.
Similar chicanery, only closer to home!
Fess up Tom Clark to the Martha Hall Findlay liason and declare a conflict with Hall Findlay , or quell the persistent rumour, because CTV is GLOBEMEDIA’s face and G&M its voice in Canada and are equally suspect of information manipulation as a consequenece of any Hall Findlay – Clark liason off air.
Someone earlier posted that Reuters is evil, I have no reason to dispute that posting.

Geesh Abe, you should at least put a warning with that link. The comments are pure lieberal leftoid paranoia. It seems that most the commentators have never seen Fox News and have only heard about it from watching Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert. Of course not one word of Al Jezeera hitting the Canadian airways but there was a few that wanted to call the CRTC to keep Fox out.
If Johnson is the one who uncovered the ‘shopping of the photo in question then he deserves kudos, yes, Caligula.

I switched from Shaw to Telus-TV because Shaw didn’t have Fox News in it news package. Shaw keeps phoning me and they claim that they now carry Fox News, but it’s actually in a special category for which you have to pay extra. I will never subscribe to Shaw again, whatever incentives they may offer.

North American media blackout?:
Obama officially announced to MSM yesterday a pledge to send 400 million $’s in aid to Palestine when Habbas was visiting. I found a small Reuters report via Drudge yesterday afternoon.
Today, I cannot find any reports on it when I Google except Blog links and a few reports from overseas. Fox has NOTHING on it and Drudge’s link is gone.
This would be highly controversial in the US right now.
The country is already broke, an ecological disaster with no end in sight where people are asking why is’nt there more clean up efforts deployed and the subject recepient of the aid money already in controversy because of the turkey ‘aid’ ship issue of late.
This is huge…Where are the reports in MSM?
