Jo, is not an uncommon democrat. The majority of the dem party are people like Jo, who have no idea where their welfare cheque is coming from. She actually believes that Obama is giving her his own personal money, because he is a nice guy.
Her statement about believing the illegals working to pay her welfare cheque is akin to her saving she believes in slavery. She wouldn’t want to put a stop to illegal immigration because someone might expect her to work.
One way to support AZ and counter the “boycott” is to simply buy something. (Do a location-specific search on ebay)

When one considers that it is a matter of course to fill out paperwork, stand in line, even get fingerprinted, then one has to wonder why Arizona did not take a stand sooner.
We had a home in Arizona only a few miles from Mexico and I saw the traffic of people and drugs.
Last week I got back from Australia were I heard the anguish about what to do about illegals sneeking in by boat.
In both these places any solution is out of reach because cheap politicians use the issues to fester hate against local people who want the problems solved.
I feel sad that America has a current administration that preaches tolerance while promoting hate. That points fingers rather than discussing solutions. That vilifies people who have legitimate fears while supporting extremism.
Posturing and slick rhetoric have won the day over thoughtful discourse.

I think the call from “Jo” was set up by the radio host. The woman was too articulate to be as blatently stupid as she seemed. Yes, I know. Articulate people can believe stupid things. But this woman was a tad too outrageous to be believable.

I doubt very much that the call was a set-up. Apply Hanlen’s Razor here: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
I thought he was a little too edgy. When he and the audience realized the woman had a problem he could have let up. He had the right to call her sick and bottom of the gene pool but should have had the respect not to. That also includes respect to himself.
Things have been slipping down hill ever since they permitted people that didn’t own land to vote.
When you not one of the people the that have something to protect, you might be one of the people who want a little redistribute of that stuff.
But Speedy, her only “problem”, as far as one can tell, is that she’s very stupid. I’m all in favour of kindness and stuff, but she called in to Savage’s show, and that’s how this kind of talk radio goes. Frankly I’ve heard meaner.
Anyway, she’s not harmless. She votes. (Our only hope is that maybe she gets lost or stoned on her way to the voting booth.)
The low gene pooler’s like Jo do deserve respect but she appeared to have a fair amount of intelligence. She just believed a whole bunch of lies, which no doubt, are shared by those in her community. Anyone with half her intellect could have set her straight as to where the welfare check comes from, it has nothing to do with intellect, it has to do with the message she is being given.
There are numerous videos out there with the women-folk gushing about how Obama is now going to pay their rent, mortgage, tuition, car payments… now that he has been elected. They no longer have to go to work, all is fine and the world has become perfect!!! They truly believe this and spread the word to their fellow slackards. They don’t have anybody like Savage challenging their belief system and giving them the facts. Jo needs to have it shouted in her face to snap here out of her utter confusion and delirium!!!
Maybe the “government” could send somebody down to her neighbourhood and give a little lecture on how this whole welfare system gets funded and that for Jo to really help all those poor immigrants, she should go and get a job so she could pay her taxes and have all that money handed over to all the illegal immigrants in her community.
There would no doubt be stunned silence when those lights come on.
She lost her argument. Making her feel small does not make her more wrong. He could have given the population, that is no big deal. He could have said I think you are wrong but you have your opinion. Adler had the same type of incident lately. He had phone calls saying he should have said this or he should have said that. He felt the audience already had her pegged so he just let her speak and thanked her.

Another reason to at least consider the possibility of a prearranged call is the similarity between the caller’s name (“Jo”) and that woman who thought newly-elected Obama would pay her mortgage (Peggy Joseph). Coincidence? Maybe. But “Jo” may also have been the first name that popped into Savage’s head when thinking up a name for his “caller”.

Savage would not get a license to broadcast in Canada due to the ‘Canadian Broadcast Standards Act’ aka – The Fairness Doctrine that the ‘progressives’ and Obamunists keep trying to restart.
The bright lights that control our media broadcasting via the CRTC do not permit US 1st Amendment style talk radio in Canada because it might cause us to think, discuss and decide.

If you want your point of view to be considered, people have to listen to it. bambam is doing his level best to ensure the TeaParties are not listened to. Behavior on the right that mimics the left means no one unbiased is listening. We say we have the solutions so let the facts speak. The other side lives on emotion and outrage. Speedy – assuming that there were such a thing as successful left-wing talk radio, I would not demand that a lefty host give me a forum to sound off. If I phoned up such an enterprise, I’d expect to be obliged to defend my point of view.
I “complain” when taxpayer funded good-old-boys networks like the CBC, well, exist; but certainly when they demonize conservatives; I also complain when the state attempts to outlaw dissenting opinions.
I wonder who paid Jo’s welfare before Obama got elected? I suppose I’m assuming she’s been on welfare for some time, probably multiple generations.
As others have noted, some of these crazy calls to radio shows may be set up. Let’s hope there aren’t too many out there with this level of social ignorance. Don’t you see, my not so speedy friend, that that is exactly what’s wrong with society today? FACTS don’t count.. only opinion does. In the wishy-washy world of “all opinions count”, nothing counts.
It’s only when someone has the guts to say “This is..”, instead of “I think” that changes come. Eppur, si muove.
It doesn’t really matter what the law is or becomes. It is all about demographics and votes. The population of Arizona is about 6.5M and about 2M are legal Hispanics/Latinos (and probably a third are foreign born). That’s about 30%. (It is estimated that there are 4.5 to 5 hundred thousand illegals in Arizona.) This block is young and dynamic and growing. They are becoming part of the Arizona business community, getting educated, etc. – they are moving up the ladder. I’ve definitely seen Latino troopers in Arizona (and in other non-labour intensive middle-class jobs – even though the majority are labourers still).
A lot of people forget that Bush took the Latino vote all across America especially in his last election (and don’t forget that the Hispanics/Latinos are now the largest minority in the US – not Blacks.). McCain lost that vote due to incompetence (even though he backed Bush’s illegals plan and is probably in trouble in Arizona right now because of this stand) especially after all the hard work that Bush did. Obama took this vote.
Hispanics/Latinos are pragmatic – they are not ideologues. So in a place like Florida they tend to vote conservative. In a place like New York (which has a monster Latino population) they tend to vote liberal. Everywhere they tend to split the vote. There is one thing for sure almost all Hispanics/Latinos are against this law.
Obama has been handed an unbelievable opportunity – and he knows a ‘never look a gift horse in the mouth’ moment when he sees one. He’s going to milk this and come in with some sort of legislation – probably very similar to Bush’s attempt – and lock up the Hispanic/Latino vote. That means that if we assume that 13 to 14 percent of the US population is Black (which is already locked up) and that 16 to 17 percent of the US population is Hispanic, then Obama can lock up 30% of the US voting block. It’s would be very hard for conservatives to overcome something like this.
The real problem is the drug industry in Latin America and some of the poverty issues due to this and poor governance. People only try to immigrate and leave their families when they have no choice. Something different needs to be done here to really shutdown illegal immigration. What they are doing right now isn’t working and this new law won’t result in any changes when you think about it. It might appease some old white guys short term but if you are in Juarez and you’re being threatened by drug lords and can’t get a job without their permission – then this law will not change anything – it might even spawn a new industry.

2 weeks ago, I told my old man that the oil spill in the gulf might be by design and that I would not be surprized that it would last for weeks if not months…Just yesterday, an MSM reporter said: “Public opinion has not changed yet as far as exploiting domestic energy and this further proves Americans addiction to oil”.
This ‘disaster’ could stay until moonbats start marching, with the MSM in tow justifying Barry’s reversal in granting further exploitation ‘to save the earth’.

-BP was a big Obama supporter.
-BP was the only company allowed to bypass some environmental regulations in the gulf.
-When the platform was on fire, fire extinguishing boats were rushed to put the fire out which sank the platform and made the problem 50 x’s worst. The argument: Air polution from the burning oil. Many experts in the field are truly questioning why was there such a rush to put out the fire without first analysing the situation.
This is happening all over the free world. It is by design. A master plan.

Moreover, it is only a matter of time before Arizona’s law is struck down by the United States Supreme Court on constitutional grounds. It is racial profiling at its worst and even some law enforcement officials have expressed grave concerns over how the law could actually be enforced without violating a person’s constitutional rights. Many simply will turn a blind eye. Further, this law doesn’t have support in Washington, so it WILL get before the Unite States Supreme Court before too long.

Why is it that no one, to my knowledge, has made the point that Arizona’s “new immigration law” is neither an immigration law, nor new. It is law requiring enforcement of the federal immigration law, and made NECESSARY by all those cities that declared themselves sanctuaries, including Phoenix. Its effect is nothing more than to undo those declarations. Has this point been made, and I missed it?
Lieberals love to play the race card when their argument is backed into a corner by logic. What the Arizona immigrant law does is enable Arizona authorities to do the job that Federal immigration authorities refuse to do with any degree of effectiveness. The job that needs to be done is Immigrant Profiling. If the majority of immigrants in any area happen to be of a particular cultural or ‘racial’ background then it’s easy for the myopic Lieberals to label it ‘racial profiling’. Call it whatever you want, the job needs to get done.
This is the first of many laws to come which will focus on States Rights. It’s time the States took back the rights guaranteed by the Constitution with the result that the bloated federal government will become reduced in size and power as was originally outlined in the Constitution of the United States.

The governor of Arizona is forcing the hand of the US gov to do something. It is unclear if that US gov is capable. There is an election coming up and they need all the illegal vote they can get.
However one commenter thinks about intellectual qualities of Sarah Palin, compared to the current occupant of the White House she could be considered superior hands down. In fact any one of the Justice Brothers would be superior to the current occupant. They can speak without TP even if they have nothing to say. When the current President speaks and has nothing to say, he still needs the TP.

Yes it is. The United States is a democracy and a republic. The structure of government is republican; individuals are chosen to hold positions of power within that structure democratically.
