  1. Not surprising at all. At least a third of any population are mentally challenged.
Most like me are low to Average.
Kate Macmillan is not the norm. People like her are at the top third of the population in mental acuity.
You don’t have to fake anything, when dealing with human inanity.

  2. One way, and a good way, to support Arizona is to BUY THEIR STUFF.
If you are a gear-head, you can find at least three of your favorite car for sale on Phoenix Craig’s List, cheap. Many, many people are selling their cars these days for rent money.

Did I mention there’s no rust? Can you say “rust free”? As in, you put a wrench on a random nut under a 1964 Buick and that nut will -turn-. No penetrating oil, no blasting it off with a torch.
You can ship a car from Phoenix to Buffalo NY on an open carrier for ~$800US. Covered carrier cost me $1,400 and the car arrived perfect. Shipping to Alberta/Sask etc. is much cheaper.
Did I mention the Looney is pretty close to par with the greenback?
Go buy a cool car and p1ss off a liberal.
Or a condo! Or a house. Or a house with a poooool. Oh yeah. That’s going to be so nice in February.

  3. Who dialed the phone for Jo?

I think the call from “Jo” was set up by the radio host. The woman was too articulate to be as blatently stupid as she seemed. Yes, I know. Articulate people can believe stupid things. But this woman was a tad too outrageous to be believable.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking RSP — not right away, but after a few hours reflection. The stupidity was too perfect. And 600 million population?
Let’s face it, talk radio is a rough uber-competitive game. I have no doubt at all, that these entertainers game the public with faux phone calls to create faux rage.
BUT, if not, I thought his handling of the call was vicious and stupid. Why not make a “teachable moment” out of it; ask her how long she’s been on welfare, if she expects to get off anytime soon AND explain to her that as a welfare recipient illegal immigration control would actually be in her own self interest as wide open borders would collapse the welfare state. In fact, I’ve read hard core libertarian opinion advocating exactly this.

  4. John Galt
[……”The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.”
    -Winston Churchill ]
    My favourite is George Carlin…
Consider how stupid the average person is…
Half the people are stupider than that….
My position is that stupid people have no idea how stupid they actually are…. just look around….

  5. MND, the only problem with “collapsing the welfare state” is that when things like that collapse they fall on -people-.
See Greece for a ringside seat at a welfare state collapse. They are burning people in the streets. Its not a good thing.
mouthbreather said: “Her idiocies aren’t anymore ridiculous than Palin’s”. Sure, mouthy. Come up with a quote.
This woman caller’s appalling ignorance could be fake, sure. But is nonetheless fairly representative of what you find in people on welfare. That’s why they’re ON welfare in the first place, because they’re so determinedly, invincibly stupid there’s no job they can be trusted with. Can’t even show up for the job, for that matter.
They aren’t victims. They’re incompetent con artists.

  6. Actually,
among 600 million, even among @ 350 million, one of Jo would not be out of line.

  7. My son in law works in Renosa Mexico and it’s extremely dangerous because of the drug cartels. Just recently 2 company men have been kidnapped and beaten.

  8. T- there is nothing unconstitutional about the Arizona law nor is there any racial profiling to it. It deals with illegal immigration and most certainly, this HAS to be dealt with.
Your error is the same as the error of the Obama Gang who refuse to acknowledge the reality of correlations. That is, terrorism is, factually, correlated to Islamic fascism; the Obama Gang refuse to acknowledge this correlation. Therefore they refuse to deal with the causes of terrorism and thus, are hampered in any ability to prevent terrorist attacks.
Equally, illegal immigration in the US is factually correlated to hispanics from Mexico and Central America. This is a fact; to acknowledge the relation is NOT racism but a recognition of facts.
The Arizona law is necessary to protect the rights of Arizona citizens; the federal govt of Obama has a duty to protect the borders and is not carrying out this duty.

  9. So the caller was actually a smart leftie feigning a stupid persona to portray a normal leftie?

  10. “The stupidity was too perfect.”
If you think she’s an anomaly, you need to catch some of Sean Hannity’s streeters…

  11. “If Dubya had garnered 57% instead of just 54% of whites, he would have cruised to an Electoral College landslide of 367 to 171.”
Bush didn’t take the Latino vote in 2004. His portion of that demographic (35%) in 2000 rose little in 2004. It was the white vote that won Bush re-election in 2004.
McCain only took 55% percent of the white vote and the white turnout was down in 2008. If Palin is to win in 2012,(if she’s nominated)white turnout and her percentage of that vote must increase to at least 58%. She can do that by focusing on policies that appeal to White Americans; like restricting immigration.

  12. Illegal immigration is an invasion by undocumented aliens. These people do not have rights in the country that they squat in and consequently, cannot be legally employed. Too many ‘wanna be pampered’ Americans have cheap, paid under the table, labourers and house help and nannies – they don’t want illegal aliens sent home because that would mean the end to their cheap/free ‘help’. Manufacturers have moved to China to benefit from slave labour; some American/Canadian citizens like ‘indentured servants’ too. I, Ruby springs to mind.
This is a two pronged fight for the Governor of Arizona. If she succeeds in sending the aliens home, other pampered wanna be prima donas and sweat shops will not have a ready supply of cheap labour. They will not be amused.
I have always found the story book tale of the Civil War being about freeing the slaves rather ironic because the Civil War broke out over State’s Rights and the Yankees conscripted immigrants right off the boats to fight or be sent home. The Yankees also had Company slaves (they ’employed’ people but the people lived in Co, slums and could only buy goods at the ‘company store’.
Glenn Beck has brought up the ‘slave trade’ in today’s America several times. Of course these people are not called slaves but they are slaves due to their illegal status. Jump to the tune of the ‘sponsor’ or get deported or put in the jailhouse. Illegals can’t go to the labour board and complain about wages or the lack of…they are trapped.

  13. If anyone is questioning the “stupidity” of the caller just watch Leno’s Jaywalkers. His interviews with people on the street in LA are stunning with the basic lack of any knowledge of the world around them. Many of these are young people in university.

  14. The United States is a democracy and a republic. The structure of government is republican; individuals are chosen to hold positions of power within that structure democratically.
Don’t know much about the Electoral College, do you?

  15. Black Mamba I agree but she made it through the screener. He says she is stupid but she played him. She wanted to provoke a reaction and she succeeded. He looked like the bigot the left loves to portray. She won.

  16. Stupidity comes in many forms. I have seen on these comment pages regular comment contributors brag about shorting the euro and staying long on the US dollar. I wonder why they dont know that they too, are making the situation worse at the expence of the taxpayer.

  17. Speedy – mebbe. He didn’t really come off that way to me, but these things are subjective, and Savage is definitely not everyone’s cup of very excessively caffeinated coffee.
ol hoss – Electoral College, is it? I can’t really be bothered this lovely morning, so I’ll just let ET explain it.

  18. “… it is only a matter of time before Arizona’s law is struck down by the United States Supreme Court on constitutional grounds. It is racial profiling at its worst…”
Refreshingly predictable, as always. We know you’d desperately like this law to be “illegal” and “racist”, T, as would your idol, d’ohbama, but for different reasons: his to divide and manipulate the US general public and yours for… well, who knows.
It won’t be struck down because:
    1. It merely enforces existing US federal law
    2. Law enforcement officials are specifically prohibited from stopping individuals without cause to verify legal status. Thus they cannot legally stop somebody for “looking hispanic”, despite the lying and spin that obama & the left are pushing.
Think about it: SCOTUS would have to rule that this new law is illegal for enforcing an existing law… even the bonehead Left should get that.
Anything more ludicrous than that would have the illegals throw away their documentation and claim “refugee” status, whereupon they’d have bestowed upon them full constitutional protection, healthcare benefits, welfare… guess the US would have to be really insane to do that, right? What moronic country would ever think to…
    Never mind.

  19. Electoral College, is it? I can’t really be bothered this lovely morning, so I’ll just let ET explain it.
Apparently ET is as ignorant as you, the Electoral College is a part of the operation of the government in a Republic.
Both you and ET subscribe to the leftist interpretation that demotes the operation of a Republic to merely a democracy with different rules.
The word democracy is not even mentioned in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence.

  20. “In a time of deceit telling the truth becomes revolutionary”.George Orwell. Many people have a tendency to massage the truth in such a way so as to influence those who are not inclined to challenge them. Its getting to the point that if a person is found to stretch the truth, you may not be inclined to believe another thing they say.

  21. Let’s encourage everyone to visit Arizona or buy something from Arizona. It seems that Arizona has the correct understanding of how illegal immigration apparently has to be handled since the Obozo regime won’t do anything about it. As for Grijalva, who’s he representing? comptia security+ Illegal immigrants or the citizens of Arizona? The answer is pretty clear in his statement.

  22. Only eight days after Eric Holder made an ass of himself testifying before Congress that he hadn’t read the Arizona Anti-Illegal Immigration Law, Janet Napolitano testified to the same deficiency.
The law is short enough to be read during the commercials for Wheel of Fortune. One should wonder why two of the top law enforcement officers in the nation, charged with border security, haven’t bothered to read it especially while criticizing it.
What’s most amusing is that Napolitano didn’t get a clue after Holder’s humiliation. This dolt is someone we want in charge of securing our homeland?
    Reading is fundamental.
