6. Everyone forgets that this fluff journalism is nothing more than a time filler to be used while the Olympic crews remove body parts from the slopes or bobsled runs.
   Whether its a strange name or a perogie on a fork, they are the obligatory human trivia portion of any big sports event. That, and the interviews with the childhood friends of the athletes.

9. Yes, Perdue is a lovely town. I’ve always admired their bold and inspiring motto: “Tout est Perdue”.

13. Obviously he’s never been to La Loche in summertime. Not quite the end of the world, but you can see it across the lake. OT a bit, but Saturday I was watching NBC”s Today show coverage from Vancouver because they mentioned a segment on Canadian beer. Here’s Lester Holt, the host, tasting samples of beers I’ve never heard of at 5:30 a.m.. I don’t know who the genius was they sent on the shopping trip for samples, but you think they’d be able to pick up a six pack of Pilsner? or for crying out loud, you’re in B.C. , pick up some Kokanee or how about the pride of Saskatchewan, Great Western?

15. Might just have escaped to many of the commentators on this subject that, for some reason or other, the story was done about Biggar because of its NAME!!!!!
    I thought the story was great – and I left it there. There is nothing beyong the piece that was done.
    God – let your minds roam to ANYTHING that is important.
    The biggest wonder of this story is that they did it at all!!!

16. This was a fun story. I didn’t see anything negative for once.
    This same story could be about any of the hundreds of similar towns and the moral folks that populate the Great Plains from Grande Prairie Alberta to Kansas or from Wyoming to Iowa. Similar geography and agricultural heritage.
