I know a lot of Muslims and am very good friends with some and they certainly do not condone the violence some Muslims perpetrate, nor is the violence some Christians and Jews commit accepted. Is there anything wrong with “quiet faith”?? Why is it always US against THEM? Why can’t people just be people and let other people be their own people? There might well be a moderate muslim or two, but how do you discern between the radical and the moderate? They would have us believe they are all moderates, and then out of the blue, one of them detonates. Then tell your friends to speak up. We hear nothing from the “Moderate” Muslim community except that they fear the reprisals that have not happened.
All we see is Muslims carrying signs saying “Islam will rule the world” “Behead those who insult Islam” We watch as Muslims commit atrocities around the world. While you and people like you tell us their is nothing to it. It is only a handful of Muslims doing it.
If Muslim violence against non Muslims (or even other Muslims) were a rare thing, perhaps we could believe you, but it is a daily occurrence.

Over the past 10 years, I have (at different jobs) worked with 6 Muslims. All but one of them were also what I would call good people who “certainly do no condone the violence some Muslims perpetrate.”
But, there is one huge difference that stands out to me between them and Christians who see fellow Christians commit violent acts in the name of their religion.
When, for example, a self-described “Christian” – claiming to be acting based on their faith – does something like assasinate an abortion doctor, you see Christians lining up everywhere to not only say that they don’t condone the act…they condemn it. They reject loudly and forcefully that the dastardly act has anything to do with their faith. They pledge to fight the scourge behind the idea that their religion accepts such ideas and they call for those that would pervert their religion to be hunted down and taken out of mainstream society.
Muslims don’t do this. It is not enough to say that you don’t condone an act…you must take a stand when it is being done in the name of whatever group you belong to.
Where is the resistance within the Muslim community striving to put down this internal group whose acts they “don’t condone”?
You will never hear of Christians decrying the news media for reporting of an act atrocity by one of their brethren…claiming that it may lead to some sort of “backlash.”
Again…”not condoning” is not enough. The “vast majority” of Germans did not condone the Holocaust committed by their government (and in the name of the German state) during the Second World War. That wasn’t enough to stop the actual act or the resulting (much-deserved) contempt their nation faced as a result of it.
The only heros of Nazi Germany were those who organized and fought against it. Those who simply sat by and “didn’t condone” it were (by their own lack of action) still serving the interests of the evil by conitnuing to work and produce for the evil state.

As a Canadian I am alarmed when I see muslim women dressed as they are in the middle east while the males wear a golf shirt and jeans, which is part of Islam making a political statement these are our women and we control them. When muslims demand sharia law and we must change our schools, our cafeterias, our businesses or pools and OUR way of life to suit theirs Canadians must fight back not roll over. If muslims want Canada to be the same as the abysmal countries they left why come here.
Reading and listening to Hirsi Ali, Geert Wilders and others who have lived in muslim society warning us what will happen when muslims expand in Canada then seeing it happen just as they warned, the honour killings, the no-go areas, the violence preached in the mosques and killings like Fort Hood. The lessons of muslim immigration forcing countries from Denmark to Australia to tighten their policies we ignore to our peril.
When we are told about and read the Koran where muslims are required to lie to non-muslims I simply do not believe what they say. When we can not criticize Islam under pain of a death threat and our leftist MSM refuses to report this danger or our Human Rights Council persecutes those like Mark Steyn and Macleans for printing the truth don’t you think we must react to this real threat.

A colleague of mine who is an electrician was doing work at a factory in Toronto on 9/11. A lot of the employees there were Muslims. He told me a huge party broke out whey they found out about the planes and he had to leave the plant because he feared for his life. I am sure that the employees were just a general cross section of the Muslim population of Toronto. There are no moderate Muslims.

Today I put myself at a personal risk, to establish something. Just being in public an exposing myself to possible H1N1 is a risk…hanging out with the local muslims is a greater risk. The best way to hide is in the open….they do not see me as a risk—a friendly out-going white guy—-and their guard goes down.

Not unique nor an isolated occurance.
They really did have their guard down that day—-it is amazing the expected backlash did not manifest. Perhaps we were still in shock.
The accumulating, repeat offences could be brutalizing us into lowering our cultural inhibitions to violence.

Maybe 6 months ago there was a nice Muslim kid who moved to Corsicana, Texas.
Corsicana is far away from Dallas and Houston and big city life. Not exactly rural, but definitely small-town America.
People really liked this kid. They had heart to heart, intimate conversations with him. People invited him to their homes for dinner. He made good friends who liked him and presumably they liked him.
Problem was that a little while later, he was caught by the Feebies trying to blow up a skyscraper in downtown Dallas.
Outside of that, he was a good kid.
I’m with gellen in that I am overjoyed that Kimberly was likely the last person Nadil saw before he hit the ground. He was brought down by woman who does not, will not, comply with his faith’s view of them. T- you are spouting the usual line of ‘I know a lot of Muslims who are good, and there are Jews and Christians who do..”. This line, which we can all use, is not the point and is an example of refusing to face reality.
The point is..reality. The reality is that Islam is ideologically confrontational and hostile to any and all who are not Muslim. As well as being ideologically hostile, it is operationally hostile and I mean hostile in the sense of a constant murderous/terrorist agenda of destruction and mass murder..and you can see this from many sites, e.g., the website of ‘the religion of peace dot com..
No other ideology has such an agenda, hidden or, as in the case of Islam, open and public. This confrontational and militant agenda, quiet for many years, has exploded since the 19th century and in particular, in the last three decades. The causes can be and have been thoroughly discussed elsewhere, but these causes have little to do with the West. They are deeply embedded within the Islamic world.
Therefore, reality has to be faced. We in the West have to confront this hostile agenda of Islam and reject it. This does not mean rejecting those ‘good friends of ours who happen to be Muslim’. That’s not the point. It’s that basic agenda, written in their texts, preached in their mosques..that must be rejected.
We have to speak of it publicly. We have to ask them: Why do you write these words? Why do you preach this way? If you think this way, then, we don’t want to deal with you.
And Muslims the world over, have to confront this agenda, and insist that they don’t want to live as militants, as a people filled with hatred for other peoples.
But, avoiding this issue, and instead, hiding behind ‘a few good friends’ won’t help them. Or us. It will simply enable more of the hatred to fester and explode.
