In our church, we have a family first showed up to our services in late September.
The entire familt is being baptized this month.
When I talked to the father of this beautiful family today, he told me that there are an increasing number of former Muslims like him who have their eyes opened as to the nature of his former philosophy (I would not call it a religion).
“There is much more information available today,” he said.
We are looking forward to accepting this gentle man and his family into the Christian religion.
There was one Gospel reading that particularly struck him.
“In time, they will kill you and say it is for God.”
When I pointed out that verse seemed to prophesize something that would happen seven centuries after it was written, he nodded his head in agreement.
I was encouraged by his observation that an increasing number of Muslims he has spoken to sense a fundamentally angry tone in the message. We would welcome anybody he would bring into our congregation.
He made other observations, such as disagreeing that the texts could best be understood in Arabic.
I trust him when he says Muslims are starting to vote with their feet. This incidence at Fort Hood should spark an even greater exodus.
