  1. One thing overlooked about these Jihadi’s that I know from personal experience—they distrust educated folk but still maintain a few as resource people. The location of the aircraft strikes and the fully fueled planes was deliberate and calculated.
Predictably this will bring ALL MUSLIMS IN THE US MILITARY under-suspicion. This event may be a clever, deliberate way to purge what the Jihadis view as traitors from the US ARMY.
The mere fact that the dead perpetrator is a psychiatrist points to this….head games….

  2. Mike Kelly there were 3 attackers according to the Post and the Globe.
Don’t really see how that could be one guy under stress.

  3. Amy P.
You have to wonder if he did any damage to the soldiers. Why would they have someone who hates American and especially American soldiers tending to the wounded American soldiers?
    That’s crazy on any level.

  4. Actually, the strictest gun control measures in the country are on military bases. You cannot have a weapon on your person, in your car (except for transport) or in government quarters. Privately owned Weapons must be checked into the company arms room.
We live in the only country in the world that doesn’t trust its own soldiers with weapons.
Contrary to curious george’s stupid comment, ONE sodier in that room with a weapon could have ended the carnage sooner. The gunman/men KNEW the soldiers were unarmed.
This will happen again, more and more, when terrorist realize soldiers have no firearms anywhere they are stationed in the US.
I risk giving them ideas by saying that, but it’s only a matter of time before they figure it out on their own and we need to arm our soldiers, everywhere, immediately.
In Germany, after a terrorist attack, we patrolled post with unloaded weapons because command was afraid a soldier would shoot an innocent person, another soldier, or themself. So it’s better to let us die than risk an embarrassing event.

  5. My thoughts and prayers go out to the bereaved in Texas and especially those unfortunate, stalwart souls, who now have the grim duty, of taking that dreadful walk to the door, to officially deliver the sad news.

  6. Latest report on CTV has this man acting alone. The other two have been released. Also, and I’m sure this doesn’t really mean anything,he is supposed to have a blog that goes on about suicide bombings. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

  7. The female officer (not sure if on duty or not) who was the first one to fire on this murdering a-hole has also, thankfully, survived her wounds.

  8. I do not believe this story simply

    Shooter
2007 photo of Nidal Malik HasanMajor Nidal Malik Hasan, age 39, was born in Virginia to parents who immigrated from Jordan.[12][13] He served as an army psychiatrist, who had transferred to Fort Hood in July from Washington’s Walter Reed Medical Center.[1][2][14][15][16] Prior to being transferred he had received a poor performance evaluation.[17] He had special training in shooting.[12]
Hasan graduated in 1997 from Virginia Tech University, where he was a member of ROTC,[18] with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and in 2003 from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences with a medical degree (MD) in Osteopathy, and later finished his residency as a psychiatrist.[19][13] In 2009, he completed a fellowship in Disaster and Preventive Psychiatry at the Center for Traumatic Stress.[15]
Hasan had come to the attention of Federal authorities at least six months before the attacks because of internet postings he may have made discussing suicide, making threats, and painting suicide bombers in a positive light.[17] However, it has been unclear if he was truly the author of the posts and no official investigation was opened.[17]
Hasan was promoted from Captain to Major in May 2009.[15] Hasan was about to be deployed to Iraq, on November 28. According to Jeff Sadoski, spokesperson of U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, “Hasan was upset about his deployment”.[13] The shooter’s cousin, Nader Hasan, said that Nidal Hasan turned against the wars after hearing the stories of those who came back from Afghanistan and Iraq.[20]
According to retired Colonel Terry Lee, “He said maybe Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor. At first we thought he meant help the armed forces, but apparently that wasn’t the case. Other times he would make comments we shouldn’t be in the war in the first place.”[18]

  9. Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugged has all the recent news.
    This is shocking if true.
The War on America: Muslim Attacker “come to the attention of law enforcement at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats”

  10. “A Hadith says: ‘A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not abandon him and he does not give him away.’ …The Muslim soldier in the American army must refrain [from participating] in this war, and if he cannot, he must serve in the [logistic] ranks, and if he cannot, he must submit his resignation. If he is forced to [fight] and is among the combating ranks, he is forbidden from killing a Muslim with his weapon; if he kills him in error he must pay reparation. If he kills him intentionally, he has committed the sin of killing a Muslim intentionally.” [4]
This is from http://www.memri.org , Of course, this man ,about to be deployed to the front, may not even be a muslim. We need more info.

  11. Yes, we’ve got capital punishment in Texas, but this SOB will be tried in a military court.

  12. The comment about Americans needing to tighten up their gun laws is ridiculous, but one thought about that.
If a crazed person wants to do you harm, they will find a way to do it. If someone in Canada wants to get a gun, they will find a way to do that.
In Canada however, the poor victims have no way of defending themselves. I’m sure the Americans could shoot back at the gunman.
I’d rather have a choice to carry a weapon myself than to have to sit around waiting for the law to show up and save my ass. This comment would be an obit.
I think in Canada, the death toll would have been way higher.

  13. Ace of Spades writes:
The officer who shot him was thought to be dead but she’s alive and out of surgery.
OK Kate, Kathy: which one of you plugged him? :~)

  14. Heh heh, M.Matt… think there’s a few of us pondering that, if not that, then that we’d be as heroic as that officer.
An off duty civilian police officer was the first one to be able to shoot that scumbag down, because she was armed.
Nothing but heartache and horror at this unprovoked attack on the innocent for the same sick barbaric reasons, but I do like that a woman took him down and she survived.
    My condolences for the fallen.

  15. The Maj. Malik was converted Muslim he was not originally Muslim and only one guy who did not like him interviewed by FOX news
the interview did not like Maj Malik since he was Muslim as he said

  16. info – go back to the mountains of Tora Bora and hook up with the goats you so love.
If you don’t love our country the way it is, I guarantee you I can raise the money it takes to give you a one-way ticket back to the hell hole you came from. But remember – its a one-way ticket and you can’t come back.
If you don’t like that idea you had better get your head around the fact that you live in a FREE country filled with people who will roast your sorry ass if you think you can subvert our way of life – you sorry moron.

  17. I would really prefer that our soldiers be allowed to carry weeapons. Duhhh! Sometimes I wonder if our generals are a big bunch of retards.

  18. There are times when I simply can’t believe that people can be stupid enough to say some of the things they do. Curious George is the latest case in point.

  19. Suppose an Army Major, a Psychiatrist decides he doesn’t want to go overseas. You’d think he’d be qualified to declare himself unfit for duty. He’d know the procedure. Who’d argue with him?
This heinous act was done with full mens rea. Texas has the death penalty, I presume the military does also for acts of treason, which this appears to be.
Ironically, I’d bet many U.S. soldiers are more motivated now than before this happened.
There will be some heads rolling as to why those in the know didn’t pick up on the signs this jihadi disclosed over months leading up to this. Political Correctness is still costing lives 8 years after 9/11.

  20. Just watched the CTV clip where they equated it to a work place shooting.
    Posted by: gobi desert

Not surprised, since they decided that all terrorism the world over was Bush’s fault with statments of “it’s Bush’s war on terrorism” usually about some terrorist attack in the middle east.
I’ve not watched them since. Like cbc, ctv is never picked on our already sparce tv viewing, local or otherwise.

  22. This American soldier ended up sympathizing with terrorists and calling the terrorist bombers heroes. These statements were either blogged or told to his comrades (fellow officers) and it surprises me that he wasn’t dealt with by his own commander. His fellow officers were neglect in not reporting him up the chain of command.
That aside, he is under the jurisdiction of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He joined the enemy by virtue of turning against his fellow Americans and should be tried under the UCMJ for treason and being a traitor should be stood in front of a firing squad aired on public television and shot after the firing squad has soaked their bullets in pig blood. Well, maybe the pig blood is going a bit far but imagine how future terrorists would feel if they thought that each bullet heading their way had pig blood on it.
