Now, I’m certainly waiting before coming to any kind of conclusion. But, I must admit, my immediate gut reaction was to suspect the adherents of a certain Religion Of Peace™.
We will wait and see as the story unfolds, but I’ll not be surprised if my suspicion is verified.

The only sensible way to prevent this type of tragedy from happening again is to not let the military have access to guns.

This event involved soldiers on a army base where there are, for some strange reason, firearms.
I know that curious guys like you like to have their boyfriends dress up like soldier and policemen and even firemen, but some of us like to keep military matters and sex separate.
Early reports are at least one of the shooters has a “muslim” sounding name and was in the military. We will know soon, but it does look planned and it looks very bad.
The reality is that we in Canada often treat our base security pretty lightly. Anyone can walk right on CFB Edmonton or CFB Shilo. I shutter to think of the possibilities.

Nalik Nada Hasam is the name of the one shooter that was killed. Very old school name from Iowa. I am sure this is a crazy American gun nut and not some misunderstood freedom fighter.
The base processes returnees from Iraq and Afghanistan….I wonder if this is a case of shell shock, or a small Jihad by recently converted soldiers who returned from there.
If religion is involved, then this could be very touchy for all Americans.

Perhaps george did not read that the gunmen “appear” to be soldiers. Even our infamous gun registry would allow soldiers access to firearms or is the lack of firearms the reason for the extended battle in Afghanistan???

Considering %% of muslim population in North America, the things are quickly coming to the point where it will be Wild West scenario: who draws first.
Considering what has been revealed so far about this tragedy, one has to be wondering.
Was this event intentionally orchestrated to try to influence Obama’s Afghanistan policy?
You are all well aware of the fact that American generals have been pushing for more troop in Afghanistan. They have said that the success of the mission entirely depends on something like 40,000 more troops.
Obama is naturally reluctant to send these troops, because the far left of the Democratic Party would quickly disavow his presidency if he seemed to be prolonging the war effort.
Now suddenly, on a military base, a highly educated man who has converted to Islam, along with a team of confederates, goes on a killing spree.
Of course, the far left will use this as a device to decry our presence in Afghanistan and to insist on a withdrawal of troops.
We all know that Obama, in addition to his other faults, is a weak president without the backbone or the fervency, or the personal conviction, to have a big stake in Afghanistan.
If this scenario is true, we won’t know it for years to come. However, it does seem very suspicious to me.
A psychiatrist no less. I and others have wondered about incidents of islamic extremists going berserk having been under psyshiatric care here in North America. The guy in Vancouver that stabbed the people in the gay parade comes to mind.I suspect that with the right doctor,one could live in Canada collecting disability until Allah called.

His cousin is being interviewed. The Major was always a Muslim, not a convert as has been reported.

Apparently, there were three gunmen. The dead one was a muslim – and the press bleats “The motive is unknown”. Heck, the guy had the same Husseiny name as Barry H. Obama
I also listened to the cousin interview: seems this shooter was happy to be in the military, had been since age 18, collecting a six figure salary as a psychiatrist, a nice American-born Muslim by birth. Sounds to me that the shooter was awfully p—‘d off to have his nice Doctor’s life interrupted with the reality of being in the military! What a baby!
But I doubt that’s the whole story….

Fundamentally, Canadians and Americans are just a big group of friends and extended relatives. That you would use this derogatory characterization of the United States when 12 innocent people with families who love them were murdered says a lot about you.
Second, you demonstrate a lot of ignorance about American gun laws.
In the United States, gun ownership is a fundamental Constitutional right, like speech or assembly. Moreover, recent Supreme Court decisions have affirmed that gun ownership is an individual right in the US.
States and municipalities do regulate guns in their lawful areas. For example, in Texas one can drive around with a gun in the car provided it is concealed. Still, one must take special training in preparation in order to carry a concealed weapon. Each state in different.
Fort Hood is a military base, and as such all firearms are supposed to be locked away and inaccessible to people outside of normal guard and training activities.
So the fact of the matter is that this psychiatrist was in violation of laws and regulations when he took two unauthorized firearms out before his killing spree. As you can see he was already breaking regulations and laws simply by having these firearms available to him on the base.
curious_george you do have a problem with comprehension don’t you. Bill Clinton was impeached but was NOT removed from office. Richard Nixon RESIGNED from office and was not removed from office by means of impeachment. BTW I would suggest that you do a bit of reading on the achievements of Richard Nixon. You might just be surprised at his foresight and wisdom.

Fox News has great coverage of this, as usual. It sounds like the perp might have been very frustrated by his work and upcoming deployment. His cousin said he worked at Walter Reed as a shrink. Before jumping on the “Muslim terrorist” bandwagon, I would counsel a little compassion for a guy who tended the wounded back from the wars. The cousin also said this guy was very bothered by harassment he had suffered as a Muslim man in the military. It seems like a man in this position might not be a happy camper. This tragedy may turn out to have been caused more by terrible stresses on our military folks than some sort of Islamic terrorism. Time will tell.
Allowing practising muslims to serve in the Canadian or American military (during these times)is like petting a rattlesnake…sooner or later you’re going to get bit!

My question would be: How many people have to die before you Dhimmis wake up to the fact Islam is like unstable nitroglycerin. How many millions have to be slaughtered before your survival instincts kick in? If you lefties apologizing for the Islamists. Even if have one left, that is.
In the past, when a killers known religion has been acknowledged as fundamentalist Christian or Hindu, the media has not held back on pointing out this religious angle to the killer’s motive. I hope this acknowledgment of the killers religion isn’t buried or only printed “below the fold”. It appears to me that religion played a part in this murderous spree, as well as the fact that educating him (at least the one Dr.) well above the average didn’t help him loose the shackles of his religion either. It isn’t enough to simply blame poor and uneducated Islamists as being the ones guilty of terrorist like behavior, but those that “seem normal” are far from normal as well. What is in common among them?
Their so called religion of peace.

It was a terrorist attack, pure and simple. The inflitrator was a Major in the US military and was ‘upset’ at being deployed.
Seems to me this looks a lot like a sleeper and the strike on the base came at a time they thought might be useful. MSM will spin until they are dizzy but it won’t change what happened. What REALLY happened.

Now that you mention it, and I don’t know if someone else here already asked, but if Hasan was a psychiatrist who saw returning combat soldiers – and Fort Hood had some suicides – what role did Hasan maybe play in their deaths? He had a high level of trust and rapport with soldiers because he was a psychiatrist. I’m not saying he did anything for certain, but flipping through several radio stations one mentioned the suicide rate at Fort Hood and I’m curious.
