MOTUS

mo-vogue.jpg
But back to my job: making MO appear to be a fashionista with that keister of hers isn’t just a simple Photoshop tweak. I know I’m no ordinary mirror. I’m a DOD*/NASA digital reimaging system, sandwiched into a Cassegrain mirror matrix. I’ve got a gazillion bytes of nerd-tech miracles under my glass. But still. I was really down last January and needed a boost. That’s when I got a call from my cousin, Earle, who’s a funhouse mirror in Paducah. He told me that transforming peoples images provides a much needed service, can be very fulfilling and an awful lot of fun too.

  1. This is going to be another one of those “Michelle Obama looks like lt. Warf” threads, isn’t it?
I don’t see it myself. She’s a pretty woman and usually stylish (no good with waistlines, though). Don’t we have enough against the Obamas without having to pretend Michelle’s ugly? If we have to go for the gutter, couldn’t we focus instead on how Nancy Pelosi isn’t physically able to blink?
That Vogue picture is pretty heinous, though. I don’t know what she’s doing there, but it isn’t smiling.

  2. not Worf, no way.
    Its Chewbacca all the way.
shake your booty , shake your booty.
gotta admit , that booty looks like a scoop of mashed pototoes being pushed through a frost fence.

  3. I think she is as cute as sin–and deserves the publicity. It’s better than having the First Lady pose in front of a bible store in Loose Cannon, Arkansas.

  4. The first lady we have been waiting for? I didn’t know we were waiting for any of them. Vogue should have used the word pinning for, instead of waiting for.

  5. Photoshop.
the new plastic surgery for the 21st century.
    ain’t technology wunnerful !!! LOL !!!

  6. Since the glam media is so enamoured with Michelle Obama, maybe someone should ask where she buys her clothes or are they donated by eager designers. All that sanctimonious fuss about Sarah Palin’s wardrobe should entitle the heaving, unwashed masses to this crucial information. Cheers.

  7. I wish someone would teach her how to walk, and also her oldest daughter. They both walk like they have curvature of the spine, or worse.
The only time she looks well dressed in on magazine covers.

  8. This is not fair. I just cleaned my ‘puter screen after filling it with that ‘Harold from Red Green Show’ wannabe shaking hands with some guy dressed in a bed sheet and now I see the 1st lady cleverly hiding her ‘two axe handle’ butt.
This keeps up I’m need more Windex.

  9. last time i saw a mouth like hers it had a hook in it…
her butt in pants looks like there are two weasels in there fighting over a coconut…

  10. How is it possible to photoshop that Angry Scowell off her face and still not improve on the product.
Look up Angry in the dictionary and you will see a picture of Michelle my Belle in her better days.
Hows that hope and change working for her?

  11. I don’t think I can get terribly hung up on anyone’s physical appearance one way or the other. The story here is the shameless shilling for the current administration by the MSM on whatever pathetic level available.
“The first lady the WORLD’S been waiting for”???!!! Are you kidding me? The world has been waiting for a first lady? Spare me.
At any event Laura Bush was a pretty classy lady. But being the wife of a Republican president, the MSM turned a blind eye. Condi Rice was a pretty classy lady as well — athletic, gorgeous, brilliant, a concert pianist and rose to prominence on her own merits. But again, being a conservative the American MSM had no interest in promoting her. It speaks to the willful blindness and shameless bias of the MSM more than anything about Michelle Obama.

  12. Fernstalbert, word.
The Mirror site is absolutely catty. My favourite bit:
“Everything was going pretty well until Carla and Nicholas showed up. Would you just look at her? Not ONE piece of jewelry! Just flaunting her natural beauty, like she OWNS understated. But that’s the French for you. Gauling.”
    Excellent.
But seriously, how people can feel absolutely no shame about gushing over these two cheapskates (they’re not cheap when they are buying stuff for them, I can imagine) still fries me.

  13. Waiting for a Sarah Palin type myself, still that keister might be a handy spot to put down your beer glass.

  14. Surprise, surprise. A picture of Mo and Barry greeting Stephen and Laureen Harper!
Laureen is lovely, as usual, although looks a little startled as the big Mo leaps to the attack.
The two most beautiful “first” ladies just happen to be ‘conservatively’ attired in little black dresses ….. Carla and Laureen ….. such a contrast to that other first lady in the rather casual little summer frock.
Do Canadians not ever notice that our Laureen Harper is never, ever, given any notice whatsoever in the Canadian msm? She is, without doubt, the most attractive of all of Canada’s P.M.’s ladies. With a personality to match.

Thanks for the delicious comments from the UK Mirror – love the use of language and irony to get a point across. Your “fries” reference is good. Touche! Ps didn’t “The Obama” treat his wife to some gaudy ring for sticking with him during the presidential run? All I got was a lousy t-shirt. Cheers.

  16. Isn’t that the “devil sign” she’s making there with her left paw?
And BTW,if you had as many fawning idiot noses stuck up your butt as she has, yours would be barndoor wide also!

  17. Fernstalbert, thanks, but really, I am fried. The angry kind of fried, not the onion ring kind of fried which might cause someone’s bum to look big.
Though some might see this cattiness as caustic, let us not forget this is just how Sarah Palin was treated and still is. Furthermore, Michelle Obama is presenting herself as a fashion plate. If she wanted to be known as the First Lady who was gracious, giving or intelligent, she could do it without the designer dresses and fashion magazine exposure.
Plus, Michelle Obama is cheap. Did anyone forget PM Brown’s children and the Queen?

  18. Sean@ 6:06.
I will never trust another photo. It’s already amazing, no scary,, contact lenses, what women can do with make-up, hair colouring, falls, wigs, razors, injections, contact lenses, etc., etc.. And they say men are liars, deceptive etc.!

  19. Joe Citizen said: “It’s better than having the First Lady pose in front of a bible store in Loose Cannon, Arkansas.”
I agree. What I’d really like to see is the first lady posing with an M-60 squad automatic on the front cover of Vogue. In a bathing suit.
Because that would mean the USA was no longer being held hostage by a bunch of insane communists and their enablers in the drive-by media.
M-60 would be a good look for Michelle. With her build she could hold it like a pistol. Batleth practice pays off.

  20. Wow – to every one who has posted on this – go back and read what you wrote.
Cjunk – pick up your game man. Who needs to go into this kind of crap. MO is not who we want to go after. The Dems are good at this kind of shit and we are supposed to be above it all.
Take your ball and go home. This is a complete waste of space and time.

  21. a different bob: So long as the glitterati press uses MO’s looks, her looks remain fair game for vapid discussion. The minute the press begins to deal with MO as more than a pretty face the discussion must change as well.

  22. different bob: She wants to be a fashionista, she can wear the slagging. She wants to stop traffic during rush hour to pick up one piece of veggie for baby daddy, she can wear it. She wants to act like a 16 year old spoiled prom queen on the world stage, she can wear it. Having fun at the expense of the most shamelessly self promoting first ladies in memory is perfectly fine in my books … lighten up.
If comments here are racists, then those who make them can take responsibility for them and you are welcome to take them on specifically … but the woman deserves to be mocked if ever there was a first lady who did.
Of course, we could get into the corruption part, Valerie Jarret and all, but it’d take an entire day of posting just to scratch the surface … or you could purchase Malkin’s book for a primer.
This woman makes Bo look like a choir boy, if you get into her background.
Making fun of her blatant attempts at self promotion is the least attention we could give this very dangerous woman.
Never, since Jackie O, has a first lady gotten so much attention in the press for her “looks” … and she feeds it all herself.
Childish prom queens playing on the world stage deserve only one thing, and that is ridicule… likely the most potent political weapon ever used in a democracy. Just ask Saul.

  23. Come on guys she is attractive and she is the wife of the President of the United States. I fail to see where “Vogue” poses a threat to any of you!! Don’t like her?? just go burn a cross on the front lawn of the White House. Then the true gist of your message will be heard–and seen!!

  24. Joe Citizen I don’t know anything about her so how am I supposed to ‘not like her’. She does the simpering clothes horse routine for fame and glory. I choose to laugh at her vanity. If and when she does something of a serious nature I will praise or laugh at her as I see fit.

  25. Michelle is trying to be some sort of fashion icon. However, she ain’t Jackie O. by any stretch of the imagination. Jackie had grace, class, dignity…..and a much smaller caboose!
And, please Michelle, enough of the dresses that look like they were made out of my grandmother’s shower curtain and drapes!

  26. I will put my extreme dislike for Obama’s politics up against anybody, but I just don’t get this dumping on Michelle. She seems to be the only person in the WH who can handle her job.

  27. Larry Bennett @10:21 – “I have heard of your paintings too, well enough; God hath given you one face, and you make yourselves another: you jig, you amble, and you lisp, and nickname God’s creatues, and make your wantonness your ignorance. Go to, I’ll no more on’t; it hath made me mad… To a nunnery, go!”
(Seriously, Larry, why the hang-up? Chillax, man, we’re not all evil.)

  28. Whooh, touched a nerve there, haven’t I Black Mamba.
Were I to be I’d be as sarcastic as our friend Momar, God knows what you’d say! Course, could be that your neither black of female; might just be your stagename?

  29. Tim in Vermont:
Agreed!! No matter what politicies are sliding back and forth across the desk in the oval office of the White House, the first lady always seems to know her role, and her place.
I grew up in the 60’s–of all the affordable luxuries that you Americans had that we lacked here in Canada, I envied your “First Family” the most. Here in Canada, we don’t appreciate the important role the PM and his wife could have in shaping our society.
I think having the First Lady on the front of Vogue should be a source of inspiration for all of us, even here in Canada.
    God Bless our American neighbours.

  30. Ok Joe Citizen – on the face of it I agree with you that the First Lady should not come under the kind of fire that MO has come under on this blog. That said, Hillary was an exception because she got involved “politically” while she was first lady. She did it early with her role in trying to reform medicare and she has since become a senator.
My question to you Joe, is this – do you feel the same way about the matter when the Republicans are in power or just when its a Democrat? How did you feel about Barbara and Laura Bush when they were first lady? Something tells me you didn’t say “God Bless our American neighbours” when “W” was in the White House.
