  1. lets hope his fine, no , lets insist his fine be greater than his ill gotten gains of his previous HRC claims.

  2. Just 2 weeks ago the Ottawa Citizen pictured Warman on its front page, referring to him as a “human rights crusader”. No mention of his career as an agent provocateur for the CHC. They have never shown any interest in the shabby antics of
    J. Lynch and her merry pranksters.

  3. Isn’t this the part of the movie when Otter says in front of the greek council, while on double secret probation “If I’m guilty then the entire court is guilty”, and they all walk out on themselves single file humming solidarity forever?
    It’s weird.

  4. The cynical part of me thinks the CHRC’s decision is a ploy intended to obviate/pre-empt any charges of bald hypocrisy, as in, “Why, no, of course we don’t have any sort of double-standard when it comes to going after people for allegedly inflammatory speech. In fact, we even investigated one of our own…” etc. The operative word in this scenario would be the essentially-euphemistic “investigated,” as opposed to “followed-through on.”
The hopeful part of me thinks the CHRC’s decision to go after Buttercup might somehow be a back-corridor directive from the PMO, sort of an, “Okay, you want to render a judgement that proscribes, in perpetuity, a Christian minister from ever expressing, even in his private emails, his views on homosexuality? Well then, surely you are also then required to examine any allegedly racist and anti-Semitic comments allegedly emanating from your own investigators.”
Scenario number one is about six-hundred thousand times more likely than number one, but either way the CHRC’s self-considered grounds for bureaucrats having a right to proscribe speech – even when the speech being proscribed is inane, inconsequential, or irrelevant — would be validated by the HRCs themselves, which isn’t a good thing.

  5. As big a jerk as he is he is entitled to free speech. I as much as anyone else would love to see someone nail his a$$ to the barn door but not the HRC about free speech.
We can not have it two ways. It is free speech for all or none!

  6. All this cynicism is making me cynical, but does the CHRC really want to make an enemy of Warman? Wouldn’t he be the Man who Knows too Much about the whole set-up? And I don’t see how they can implicate him without implicating themselves.
Well, hell, I never did think the Lynch Lady was one of your brighter masterminds – not Dr. Evil calibre or anything.

  7. This is a sure sign of the demise of any corrupt organization: Infighting. Or to use a favorite, but misunderstood, media word:
    Implosion!
And I can’t wait for the fireworks.

  8. More twists and turns than a reality TV show. I say Ezra and W a r m a n should form an alliance. W a r m a n, of course, would have to drop his lawsuit against Ezra and acknowledge his “conversion experience” and give Ezra the money back he has spent on defending himself against W a r m a n. W a r m a n has nothing to lose; he is being thrown under the bus by the C H R C. It takes a big person to admit they were really wrong. Being a former C H R C investigator, W a r m a n probably has some helpful dirt and incriminating internal evidence against the C H R C that could prove to be very useful in bringing down, once and for all, the C H R C. Ezra and W a r m a n for all intensive purposes, are on the same team now anyway – why not make it official? The C H R C would definitely not expect the two of them to form an alliance. It will take a Gandhi like action by Ezra; the prize will be freedom for all Canadians, but I am not the one who has been sued by W a r m a n. Easy to say, very hard thing to do. Unfortunately, freedom demands sacrifice.
I wonder if either one of them have thought about this strategy. Its a win win. Provided W a r m a n has some valuable information/evidence that can be used against the C H R C.
Whatever Ezra decides, he has my respect and my vote – if he would only run for office!
Perhaps I have watched to many episodes of Survivor and Big Brother.

  9. So the CHRC is still investigatingSec. 13 complaints even though the tribunal found them unconstitutional. Interesting.

  10. I am not a lawyer but I’m pretty sure that no federal government bureaucrat or similarly employed person who is not a police force member or “official police asset with permission” has a job description which includes the “right of free speech involving promoting racial hatred or encouraging violence in regard to dealing with the public for the purposes of entrapment” without official permission from fairly high up in the Dept of Justice. The fact that these alleged activities first originated on government property using government equipment and supposedly were continued later as a freelance with the wholehearted support of those in his former workplace is even more bizarre. There is no freedom of speech protection issue related to anything regarding his employment that promotes or connects to CHRC persecution of his victims.
If a person in such a situation on leaving had made a complete shift to another area of concern with no CHRC or neo-nazi entrapment related implications then freedom of speech would then certainly be paramount.
Like running a “Biggest Fans of Burny Farber” website for example.

  11. Syncro, spot on. I was going to say “punt”, but “hail Mary” is a much better description. Well said.

  12. HRC…. Billions handed over to the banks in bail outs. They are now making billions and were never in trouble. A government that refuses to look into pork and waste. In some ways the liberals are more conservitive then the conservitives at lest they called out some of the pork scams.
and they wonder why no one votes.
    Peter

  13. It isn’t the CHRC that should,in effect, be investigating itself/an employee(former employee?)whatever. It should be the Federal Gov’t doing a full blown investigation re the entire Human Rights Industry – starting with J Lynch et al and repealing Sec 13. Both Federal and Provincial Governments have steadfastly refused to take this issue on through the front door.
It is beyond belief that either J. Lynch or B. Hall operate as they have without the full knowledge/behind the scenes approval of the PMO. This little “invesigation” has the markings of another whitewash attempt but let’s hope it backfires – as did the attempt at whitewashing with the Prof. Moon inquiry with its pitiful limitations to be sure nothing negative came out.
With nine complaints being dismissed by the AB HRC – after 5-7 years of “investigation” – against the Calgary Herald and the Edmonton Journal, perhaps now the MSM will be informing the public with a much stronger voice about the Human Rights Industry. Google on the Calgary Herald for the story.

  14. Harry J. Balsac, the Court didn’t rule Sec 13 complaints or investigations unconstitutional.
The Judge found punitive punishment under Section 13 unconstitutional.

  15. Mr. Levant – you are a gentleman and a scholar. So many would turn ‘reactionary’, you stand by your principles. Thank-you for your great example and thank-you for defending free speech for every Canadian citizen.
The Lord gave us all a brain – to use – citizens can ostracize those who spew inanities on their own. No gument people required. Maybe the fanatical anti smoking fools will tend to their rhetoric now – or they might be next on the chopping bloc.

  17. New: defamation is covered under the Canadian Criminal code. You can sue and take a person to court for slander and defamation – no need for a commission that favors the complaintant with no real Judge or rules to secure a conviction – only opinion. In a defamation suit you must prove that it was defamation by the standard of truth and the case is decided by Judge and Jury as it should be.

  18. EMG: I completely agree – need to be careful about what we say. For this reason, I have no problem with SDA deleting my earlier post on this thread.

  19. If we have internal division at the CHRC then I’m hoping somebody brought the gasoline to throw on it.

  20. playing chess@652AM–LOL!!!
The penultimate scenario with the warthog, ilsa etal in a smouldering heap, and Ezra standing on top. I love it.

  21. The ultimate example of patience and tolerance is the acceptance of ‘new’ on this blog. Sometimes I try to read his/her comments but I can’t get past the notion that he/she is totally uniformed and needs at least 5 more years in Canada to get a grasp of what is really going on.
Cudos for the SDA gang for not ridiculing. New would be slaughtered(that’s figurative, new)on a lefty blog.
However, that being said we are the proponents of free speech here and new has the privilege to make these comments.
And I can choose to ignore them.
New, I hope you tip the jar for Kate occasionally.

  22. The only thing I understand generally about new’s posts are they invariably are an attempt to hijack the thread; his comments in reference to the actual subject at hand, are tangential at best. IMO.
Or so I can only assume since I for the most part can’t make heads or tails of what he’s trying to say, or get tired of trying to decipher it and move on. 🙂
But by all means, new, continue to post. I’ll continue to scroll.

**Why has the name, Robespierre become stuck in my mind?**
    Yeah!!!! History repeats itself….
    “The revolution consumes it’s children……”

  24. Late to the party, so I was beaten to the Robespierre reference. Oh, well–it was a nice week at the cottage.
