  1. Re Dems finding a worse candidate: Being a leftard isn’t just about being stupid, it’s about showing the world how proud you are to be stupid.

  2. Re: forest fires, the number one source of smog and other pollutants in my neck of the woods is the Ohio Valley. Another thing to point out is that there are currently fires burning in Wisconsin and Michigan. How do the talking heads differentiate between the different sources since both drift to the same locations.

    1. Rumor has it that we’re thinking about freezing the PM’s assets over them, and Doug Ford’s…and not allowing them get visas.
      Sanctions!

And possibly putting more tariffs on Canada.

      1. I wonder if there might be some way to tag you guys as engaging in bio-terrorism and/or chemical warfare? After all, it’s your government that is creating this issue by not being proactive with its forestry management.

It’s hilarious that we could level a charge against you with regards to that clean air agreement we signed — I’m old enough to remember when it was Canada that was pitching a fit about it — evil Americans, killing Canadian forests with their acid rain. I remember that on the news.

        1. Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence. Ontario and Saskatchewan under budget on forest fires annually. Ontario budgeted $150M in 2025, spend $270M. Saskatchewan budgeted $140M in 2025 and spent $370M.

Between piss poor planning and an ideological predisposition against prescribed burning, lots of blame at the provincial level, but frankly plenty at municipal and federal level as well.

          1. I think we should revisit that maxim:
Never attribute to incompetence what can be explained by malice.
Willful neglect posing as incompetence is a great way to mask a political agenda: oh no! forest fires! Climate Change! We must spend more money on solar panels and wind turbines (which do what, exactly, to mitigate forest fires?) — pay more taxes citizens! Oh, and America…give us money and kneecap your industry/force your citizens to pay more taxes/reduce your infrastructure capacity by signing on to more solar panels and wind farms…

Now, this may be a conspiracy, but then again…

PS. this is the same damned stunt that the state of California has pulled, multiple times now, just like Canada…it’s almost like they’re following the same playbook…

        2. Forests are natural ecosystems that don’t need to be managed by humans. When a forest gets to the right place in it’s life cycle, it’s going to burn. It’s what they do. It’s necessary for the next generation of trees to grow.

          1. Well that would be all well and good if we didn’t have this pesky little thing called civilization. Some forest fires will happen, but this is sorta not helping that civilization thing.

    2. Oh, they don’t. They just report the news as is given to them.
But there are people who can and do track such things and their affects. Perhaps the talking heads (some of them) are getting info passed on to them from such sources????

Kind of like how military plans start with people gathering intel from multiple sources and creating PoA’s from those? Maybe? No? Yes? Sometimes the talking heads get to pass down information from that as well…perhaps.

    3. speaking of forest fires, l just found out more about the TURDeau 2.0
he turned down assistance from foreign countries whilst ft mcmurry burned.

AB. for your own good. GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT while you can.
they hate you, steal from you, bully you, and WILL drag you down.
you HAVE TO hive off *while you still can*
and if sumbuddy were to plunge a kirpan into the TURDeau 2.0’s chest so be it.

    1. Is there such a thing as premeditated assault? Cause the lesbos just committed it.

  3. “Carney creates jobs in Michigan”
and STILL they vote for him.
tikucf Canaduh. you really really are HOPELESS

    1. Years from now, we find out that Carney is secretly working for Trump, ruining the country for America’s benefit. In exchange Carney gets to enrich himself via Brookfield.

      1. I think you’ll find that he isn’t ruining Canada for our benefit, and that he and his government never were the only ones. But do go on…

  4. I was surprised to learn Round Up is sprayed on forests in Canada to kill off the deciduous trees and other ‘bad’ vegetation. Grok figures about 250,000 acres per year.

    1. The railways use to run brushcutters to cut back the trees from the rail, but now they are just spraying, which does nothing to remove the fuel load.

  5. Here in Sakatchewan we get plenty of smoke from US forest fires in Washington state, the Dakotas, Montana and elsewhere. Nature doesn’t recognize international borders. When Mt St Helens erupted in Washington in May of 1980, ash covered houses and cars in BC and Alberta. No Canadians demanded that the Americans clean up the mess. When the Krakatoa volcano erupted in August of 1883, it sent so much ash around the world that temperatures dropped by almost a degree. Nobody sought reparations from Indonesia. Forest fires are part of the cycle, clearing out dead wood and preparing the land for new growth.

    1. Darling, I don’t know if you knew this, but volcanoes can’t really be mitigated. Forest fires however can be — through proactive forest management and fire fighting.
By the way, there are these things called ‘controlled burns’ — act a lot like forest fires, but controlled — very good for forest fire mitigation. We used to do them quite regularly until some people decided “nature’s way!”…don’t get me started on that.

Now, the number of forest fires in the U.S. has been decreasing over the last few decades — we could still do better, but it’s a start. There are some management concepts that are in the works and have been started — the federal government does have to work with the states on this; that can be an issue.
What has Canada done? And by the way: you guys are the ones that make the water bombers. Considering your unemployment rates at this time, shouldn’t you be doing a little marketing there? Might be a win-win situation. No?Yes? Ok.

      1. Active timber harvesting prevents most of this, and that is what was eliminated starting with the ridiculous Spotted Owl. Much more effective than controlled burns. A lot of “controlled burns” in Colorado and New Mexico have become uncontrolled burns and destroyed hundreds of homes, often due to incompetent Forest Service staff. But we can’t harvest timber because trees don’t grow back.

        1. In some areas you do still need to do controlled burns thanks to dense undergrowth and litter build up in places where timber harvesting isn’t economically viable, but yeah.
And I’m all for preserving our wildlife. Thing is: we can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time if we put our minds to it. Something that societally has been brainwashed out of people for a while now. We can preserve species and make areas economically viable, and all the while creating conditions where we mitigate natural events (or man made mischief), if we but put our minds to it. It won’t be perfect, but it will be better than collectively sitting on our thumbs.
