Obviously, the Obama logo indicates a national cult of personality. Yes, it’s all Obama. Just like it was all Saddam. Just like it’s all Kim Jung Il. Just like it was all Ayatollah Khomeini. Etc., etc.
And it does bear an eerie resemblance to the eagle-carrying-the-swastika Nazi logo of long ago.
Whatever one thinks, I believe that the more we see the logo (like with the new Pepsi logo which reminds one of the Obama one), the more we’ll be creeped out.
Isn’t it fun watching the frothing angst of the democrats in the US.
Someone who is good at photoshop should paste a picture of a pig unto that logo.

Obama is talking about your devotion and absolute trust in him. That’s why he doesn’t feel it’s necessary for anyone to read his Health Bill. Or his Stimulus Bill. Because if you want to read and debate them, it shows you don’t Adore and Trust Him. That’s not nice.

I don’t know how the polls of Canadian views towards Obama look right now, but not long ago they showed that Canadians were far more positive about him than Americans were — by a huge majority, in fact. Anecdotal evidence suggests to me that not much has changed. I’ve talked to some who say that they almost weep when he speaks.

Jennifer Rubin, at Pajamas Media has a nice analysis [Obama and the Politics of Personal Destruction] of Obama-Tactics of vilifying anyone who comes and asks questions about his plans, who analyzes them and comes to any conclusion that he/she doesn’t like that plan. As Ms Rubin says:

But people who object to that stimulus may have never heard of Limbaugh; and people who object to his health care, may have no interest in Obama’s birth. Ahh..but a Red Herring diversion seeks to denigrate any and all opposition as ‘fruitcakes’.
By the way, some people are actually starting to read the Health Care Proposal. Remember, Obama insisted that his Stimulus pass Congress without being read, and we’ve found it to consist, actually, not of stimulus projects but pork. This Health Care, which he also wanted passed without reading..has some interesting sections.
p. 50. It covers all non-US citizens, i.e., illegal aliens. That is, the taxpayer is paying for illegal aliens.
p. 65. Taxpayers will subsidize all union retiree health plans. That means SEIU, UAW, ACORN..their retiree health plans will be subsidzed, not by the union dues, but by you, the taxpayer.
p.95. Govt will pay ACORN and Americorps to sign up people for this health plan.
p.145. An employer MUST enroll employees in the public health plan. Penalty for not doing so- 8% tax on payroll. [So much for Obama’s insistence that you’ll have a ‘choice’ between private and public. No, you won’t.]
Thank heavens that would never happen in Canada. Like a federal political party making the logos for government ministries and departments look suspiciously like the federal party’s logo. [cough, grits, cough]
P.S. Maybe Obama will redesign the U.S. flag, too, to make it more “inclusive”.

It’s obvious what’s wrong with the logo.
The circular symbol was used during the election campaign, before Obama was president.
Now that he’s been elected, he constitutionally is the president of all the people.
Other than the shadowy outline map of the US, what I see is the Obama hope and change symbol overshadowing the American people.

It’s often said with regards to sports that no one person is larger than the game or the team; not Jordan, Gretzky or Woods(okay maybe Woods).
This doesn’t seem to be the case for Obama supporters. Obama is bigger than the team; or better put, is bigger than America. Not surprising considering some of his supporters were proud of America for the “first time” only after Obama won the presidential nomination.
A good friend of mine’s girlfriend is a Dem ex-pat from NYC. They had an all female cheering party for the big O on election day, at a pub of course. I told her then she would rue the day this happened and now she won’t even talk to me (not that I care), I don’t like to spend a lot of time talking to Dems.

But do it more openly, on tv, newspapers, radio shows. Make sure Canadians hear from one end of the country to the next. And make sure to identify yourselves as supporters of the Conservative Party. That way it will all but be assured that your party’s popularity will plummet.

First – also and only, a Republican. Are you aware that Obama’s support from the Independents, who are filiated with no political party, is now down, so that 40% strongly disapprove while only 22% strongly approve of him.
Oh, and did you know that his rating index has been in the minus range for over a month? And that he began his ‘reign’ with an index of plus 28, and a general approval vs disapproval of 65% to 30. It’s now 49% to 51. That is, more disapprove than approve.
Second, could you provide evidence that disapproving of Obama’s agenda will also cause support for the Conservative Party ‘to plummet’. I wasn’t aware that it was necessary, in Canada, to support either the American President or his policies. Is that a new platform in your Liberal Party…(I’m presuming you are either Liberal or NDP; you are obviously a ‘leftie’).
Gosh, recall how the left, both the Liberals and NDP ranted – yes, ranted – if one was in support of Bush’s policies? Gosh.
