    This is going to blow up big in the US. It confirms the, well founded, fears around this kind of thing.
    A government effeciency argument is very hard to make. Government is rarely the most effecient way to do something. Some things, like national defence, arent predicated on being the most effecient, but being the most effective.
    Buying HAM, can’t think of a strategic reason to buy Ham, or pay $500,000 to get a traffic signal installed in Hawaii by a local 12 man shop.
    This will spill into Canada as well, when people ask for a second stimulus package. I am sure you can find mistakes in the Cons stimulus package, it goes with the territory, but I can only imagine how muh worse it would be with the other guys.
    Best answer, keep the resources tight and you wont get the crimes.

  21. Bwhahahaha, sounds like my local college. Last year, before the meltdown, they purchased 100 new Dell PC’s for $2400 each. I can get the same Dell PC online for $1200 with all the bells and whistle’s, and a free printer/copier/fax/scanner thrown in. With free shipping.
    What’s is amazing and really arrogant is the USDA actually adressing Drudge Report on their website. That is pure chicago thuggery out of HBO’s house.

    When his home state motto is “Eat pork or die,” one suspects the Secretary could have done a good deal better through honest RFPs. But, someone’s pockets were filled and someone’s were emptied and that’s why these criminals are in government.

  23. If it’s found that some of the Canadian “stimulus” funding was blown on weird stuff, well, it’ll be hard to condemn the Harper Tories unless one is also willing to condemn the Obamites.
    When the Leftist Opposition attacks the Tories for a couple of mistakes, all the Tories have to do is ask, “But what did they say about all that pork… wee, wee, wee, oink, oink, oink, not halal, not kosher… that the Obamites blew millions on?”.
