I have an idea. Why not build a really big boat?
Rapid climate change is forcing scientists to consider for the first time whether to help wildlife relocate to places where they are not currently found, says a group of international researchers who have created a tool for evaluating such relocations.
The world is being run by crazy people.
h/t Oz.

Paint the roofs white eh? Aren’t solar panels, for lack of a better description, rather black?
Do they even consider where all that heat energy goes when it’s not absorbed by my roof?
Next we’ll be making sure highways are mirror surfaces. Anything life that’s black in color will be forcibly removed to areas that are predominantly white to encourage evolutionary shifting towards a more Nature friendly hues.
I say it, it’s insane. Some ecofascist says it, and the MSM quotes it as a foregone conclusion.
The next time some green idiot blathers on about “the science is settled”, consider this:
The American Psychiatric Association considered homosexuality a mental disorder until late in 1973. This association of MD’s believed their science was “settled” until December of that year.
Perhaps we should have wrote off any other research or studies in homosexuality and let those people continue to think they were mentally “flawed”, because the science was settled.
Nothing regarding climate change or – even worse – AGW is “settled”, and especially not because suzuki, strong, gore & all the other trough-wallowers say it is.

Maybe if they paint all the roofs in the cities the “wallmart parking lot type ” temperature sensors will start to record some cooling….presto global warming stopped.
At the risk of being politically incorrect I’ll say: Fk the animals.
I’m still not sure how my life has been negatively effected by the extinction of the Dodo Bird.
I like protecting animals that are endangered, I especially love birds. That being said, I suspect if we let every animal take care of themselves and Obama forbid we lost some species ie… bald eagles and humpbacked whales, it wouldn’t make any difference at all. North Korea would still be testing missiles, Ontario would still be voting Liberal and Cap’nTrade would still be coming. So, what is any of it for except making ourselves feel good?

“Nothing regarding climate change or – even worse – AGW is “settled”,’
Sorry dude, I have to disagree. Politically in Canada and most likely in the USA Global Warming and AGW are settled.(There is still hope that Congress in the US will not pass Cap’nTrade, and the Jays might make the playoffs also, but I won’t bet on either)
btw, perhaps George Clinton won’t get his wish to “paint the Whitehouse black”.
Indy, you have obviously never tasted bbq’d Dodo.

Que sais je? — “What do I know?”
Geologist (2009} says in his lecture: “hydrothermal explosions” are a “rarity”.
…-
“Geologists witness rare Yellowstone explosion
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) – A geologist at Yellowstone National Park was in the middle of a lecturing a group of colleagues on the rarity of hydrothermal explosions earlier this month when, all of a sudden, one went off just behind him.
Geologist Hank Heasler was giving a lecture in the Biscuit Basin on May 17 when a hot pool behind him exploded. It spewed mud, rocks and hot water about 50 feet in the air.
Geologists only know of only a handful of such unpredictable explosions in Yellowstone’s recorded history. Heasler and the others were just out of reach of the hot showering hot water and other debris.”

Indiana –
I would somewhat agree with your dismal pronouncement on the current political state of “settled science” regarding AGW. However, if we wish to save the remnants of our manufacturing, indeed, perhaps, our way of life, everyone must fight the PC orthodoxy surrounding the green cult of environmentalism, especially regarding greenhouse gases.
More and more scientists are refuting the “settled science” each day, at the risk of their reputations, government grants, and more. This isn’t a battle to get weak-kneed about.

“If you can’t beat them, join them.”
First, I hate what I’m writing, I hate all of this AGW BS, redistribution of wealth ect; but because of the reasons below, I feel it’s time to regroup and move with force on other issues. Money is money regardless of which pocket it comes out of, so I suggest that perhaps the focus should be cutting expenses in other areas to attempt soften the new burden.
That being said, using NDP logic, it appears that 99% of Canadians voted for parties that are committed to fighting AGW. I believe that this deal is done. Once it’s implemented, and only then, will our politicians admit(I use the term loosely because I don’t believe they believe what they’re selling) that they’ve been hoodwinked; but, as I’ve mentioned before it will be too late. Our governments will not be able to eliminate the taxes on Carbon because they will be dependant on the revenue; or that’s what they will tell us.
As I’m writing a light has gone on in my head. We seem to be going into the abyss with respect to spending, so our government(s) will need extra revenue to make payments.

No, but I’ll be considering BBQ’d Quaker if my parrot doesn’t quit stealing things from around the house.
Relocation is already passe.
Check out comments on U of Washington Prof Peter Ward’s new book “The Medea Hypothesis: Is life on Earth Ultimately Self-Destructive?” at http://www.terradaily.com.
Teaser:
‘There’s no Gaia. There’s just this dumb, blind life. It tries out all kinds of new things that are good for new kinds of life but are detrimental to everything else that exists. The innovations lead to disaster.’ Ward said.
Gee I wonder if the Caitlin Expedition would care to make a few testimonial remarks here?
If you in the mood to crush a Gaia worshiping eco-pagan’s spirit try this line:
There is no gravity, the Earth just sucks!
or
The Earth first, we’ll pave the moon later!
or
Don’t worry about my foot print if you haven’t freaked over Al Gore’s butt print.
Earth can never be free of farting smelly stinking carbon based life forms. I shall pray at the next Carbon Sabbath Kairos version that Gia have a shave and convert to a cue ball not unlike the moon; acne of human detritus.
Indiana Homez said “I’m still not sure how my life has been negatively effected by the extinction of the Dodo Bird.”
We may never know but I’m sure that KFC could have done something interesting with a bird like that. Picture a drum stick with a web foot. Mmmm.
Interesting isn’t it? Living in an age where madmen are considered sane. Where emotion tops logic. Feeling are more important than morals.
Ideas only flow one way, in the mood of the times.
We discuss overpopulation while our numbers decline.
Its a comic opera with a rousing climax, only to turn into a tragady that could have been avoided.
