Tony Blair’s Britain

Where the foxes caper unmolested, the government packs your school lunch, and beating up 7 year olds is about to become fashionable again;

City Councils across Britain are calling upon its citizens to become “citizen snoopers”–people who will report on loud neighbours, litterbugs, and even people who take their garbage out on the wrong day. Children as young as seven are being recruited, and so far over 9000 Britainers have signed up.

I like the idea of a list. When Britain finally unravels, they’ll be able to line them up in alphabetical order.

  1. tranio,
    Apart from the fact that I and my wife are allergic to cut grass, composted vegetation produces unhealthy moulds and composters shouldn’t be located within 100ft of a dwelling, which isn’t possible for any dwellings in my neighbourhood.
    Compost heaps are a new very unhealthy fad.

  2. Ron in Kelowna I’m English but emigrated to Canada last year. Having worked for the British government I witnessed first hand how the UK is going down the pan. If you want an insight into some of the sleaze this is a good website

    Some of the comments are a bit puerile. However the blog owner was instrumental in getting a clown called Damian McBride fired from the Civil Service. He had been Labours spinmeister and had been in the process of spreading hateful emails about opposition party MPs.
    The Daily Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ obatined a copy of a database that had been compiled on MPs expense claims. I wont attempt to summarise it all as there is too much, but suffice to say MPs cooked up a system amongst themselves to cover their expenses. It has been abused by a huge number of MPs and even when it hasn’t been abused they have been allowed to claim things which the ordinary person would never get away with. An example is “flipping” MPs are allowed to buy a house in London if they live outside the capital. They then “flip” the property and claim it is their main home to avoid capital gains tax. Or as some have done claim mortgage interest on properties that have been paid for. They call this “an administrative oversight” other people call it theft. Suffice to say the people’s mood is ugly and there is an election on June 4th for local councils and Euro MP’s. I think you will see some very interesting results as smaller parties take a bite out of the big three parties.
    Furthermore Labour have to go to the country by June 2010 at the latest, but I believe the results in June will be so bad for Labour that they will have no choice but to call for an election.
    Black Mamba I well remember the events suurounding the death of the Princess of Wales and I am still mystified by the weeping and wailing about a woman who very few people actually knew. It coincided as you know with Bliar having recently been elected and that slimy oik milked it for all it was worth. You are quite correct that the BNP will find a lot of support, especially from Labour people. I despise them as they are socialists and racist but I am not surprised as Labour have allowed uncontrolled immigration into Britain and quite frankly parts of Britain are unrecognisable now from the country I grew up in.
